The views are good. I love the giant screens showing four different things. The music is good. The food is pretty decent. The chicken sandwich is fantastic. The drinks were watered down. I tried four different drinks, but unfortunately, I tasted no liquor. On top of that, they forgot our drinks twice. I had a blackberry mojito, a summer spritzer, Rays for Days, and a margarita. Came here for their Dive In Movie Night and it was awesome! They are showing 2 movies every Thursday night this summer. You can check out which movies they will show for the week on their Instagram page. This week was Comedy Night, and they showed Anchorman and Napoleon Dynamite. I reserved my tickets online through the link in their Instagram bio. It was really easy and quick. Tickets are $26 each and it gets you access to the pool from 6-10pm, discounted $20 valet parking in the Omni Hotel AND two drink tickets! Instead of using the $20 valet parking, we parked a few blocks away in a $6 lot and walked. Once we got to the hotel, we went to the lobby and got the pool key and our drink tickets. The pool is on the rooftop of the Omni Hotel. Its pretty small and not many people were inside the pool. The bar is really nice and big. There is a lot of seating around the pool and they were spaced out very well because of COVID. The TV was huge so you could see the movie from anywhere you sat! With the drink tickets, you could get any drink you wanted, except for top shelf alcohol. The first drink I got was a frozen lemonade made with vodka. It was really good and refreshing. I wanted to try the Kahlua Frozen Coffee but they were out of coffee, so I got a simple rum and coke. It was really strong! I also tried some of my cousin's Frozen Strawberry Daquiri and it was really good! The staff were all very nice and helpful. We really enjoyed the service. Located in the Omni Hotel in Uptown Charlotte, I actually had high hopes for this bar which serves a very limited but basic bar menu. We came in for a quick drink and an app before going to do other planned activities. I will say the bartenders we decent and the cocktails were good we ended up getting the blandest chicken wings ever. Let me be clear, the wings were crunchy and hot when served however, they literally had no seasoning and no flavor, not even a small flake of salt. I will sum up this review by saying that I walked away from this meal only eating 1 wing and feeling sorry for the chicken that lost its life just to be deep fried and served to me as the blandest chicken wings I have ever had, Rest In Peace, you deserved better than this! read more

I'm from Miami and I've been to pool parties in Vegas. Now, this isn't that but it's definitely a reeeeeally cool option here in Charlotte. Though they didn't really replicate these places, they definitely adopted their pricing model! Sheesh! Super expensive. Well for Charlotte anyway. I don't mind paying for quality but there's no way I should have a $108 tab for 2 people and walk outta there basically sober. That's my biggest complaint. If the food wasn't GREAT this would have been a 3 star review. Outside of that though I had a blast! It's really cool that the Omni opens the pool bar up to the public after 5pm daily. Logistically it's a really easy process for non-hotel guests. Just check in with security (no food or liquids allowed) and after checking your bag they'll let you up on a private elevator and give you a key card to enter the pool/bar area. To add to the Vegas/Niami feel you can rent a cabana or couch area that seats 4 - 12 people and this starts at $400. They're understaffed but everyone was really friendly and helpful. The staff continued to check on us the entire time there so we never felt neglected. I'm super excited to go back and watch a football game on the jumbotron while lounging in the pool with a drink. If you're staying at the hotel, I would say that the best time to go would be during the week in the middle of the day. We stayed hat the Omni for one night and the pool and bar was PACKED like sardines Saturday. Ohmergherd. Staff did their best to keep up! You can also order food. Coin Bar is a very cool place to hang out on top of the Omni hotel. You can get up there if you are staying at the hotel or ask for a key at the front desk. You need to take a second elevator up to the pool deck and then find a seat. The main draw here is either the jumbotron tv or the view. Both are equally impressive. The views of the Charlotte skyline are pretty amazing and the spacious deck allows you to soak it all in. The huge TV set projects the game of the hour in amazingly large HD quality. The sound isn't too overbearing. There are plenty of comfy outdoors sofas and chairs to lounge around in. The pool is nicely lit up and the whole vibe seems a little more LA or Miami than Charlotte! Staff was pretty hands off on our visit on a weeknight. They didn't come over to take orders from our group on a couch so we just ordered from the bar. Other tables had waitresses, we didn't. I brought a friend from out of town on a Tuesday for a pool day. The Coin Bar itself is closed during the week right now but we were allowed to bring any outside food and drinks as long as there was no glass! Towels are provided and the chairs and views are amazing. Personally, I would never pay for the VIP 4 or 8 person loungers. They are black couches with no area to actually lay down on a chair so I think the chairs are much more worth it if you are booking through ResortPass. The only thing that could have been improved is that the TV wasn't turned on until about 2:30-3pm and fresh ice water wasn't available until that time either. Both of these things should be offered for the full day otherwise you're basically paying for a chair at a pool. I will definitely be back on a weekday and curious to see how the pool and bar are on the weekends. read more

Someone call John Taffer from bar rescue - this bar is a a nightmare! I'll just focus on the service but I will point out that the small pizza is GUARANTEED a microwaved Tony's frozen pizza. I'll also mention that all the food is truly mid level to decent microwaveable food. The bar service though...wow is it a joke. 10/20 minutes for a drink almost guaranteed 1.) because they're understaffed 2.) the bartenders have 0 training or customer service. Take a look behind the bar it's a zoo and messy. Quickly I'll point out my guy was shaking my drinks and liquid was pouring out and then he went to pour and it was half way short. This hotel has potential to be a nice place to stay, but their illogical "policies" ruin it. For example, there is a hotel employee standing guard at the entrance to the rooftop pool area/bar (The Coin Bar). My boyfriend and I brought a small backpack with our IDs/Credit cards, iPads, sunscreen, and an empty reusable water bottle that we were intending to fill at the fountain inside the pool area. The guard told us we weren't allowed to bring our bag or water bottle in because "no outside food or beverages are allowed." We opened the bottle to show him it was empty and opened the backpack and turned it inside out to show him that there was nothing else in it other than what I listed above and he still told us we couldn't bring it in. We had to go all the way back downstairs and get rid of our bag and when we came back up and finally got a couple chairs by the pool, we noticed there were a bunch of other people who had bags/backpacks at their chairs....WTF. I understand the hotel not wanting people to bring outside food etc. because they want people to spend money at their bar, but not being allowed to bring in a backpack without food/beverages and an empty water bottle just "because it's the policy" is absolutely ridiculous. We settled into a couple lounge chairs and attempted to move one of the umbrellas over our chairs because it was blazing hot and pretty much the entire pool area is in direct sunlight (which is terrible for everyone's skin, regardless of how much melanin you have). Two hotel employees came running over when they saw us trying to move the umbrella, but they were not trying to assist us. They came to tell us that the umbrellas are ONLY for the couches. (In case anyone is wondering, couches w/umbrellas are 600.00 to reserve and that doesn't even include a food/beverage minimum). What kind of hotel only has 5 umbrellas in its pool area and charges people 600 to use them? Trying to be responsible and avoid having a heat stroke and/or getting a melanoma will cost you some serious COIN. Will not be returning or recommending this establishment to anyone. read more

The employee in the elevator said to head right up, but the employee at the door said we needed to go downstairs to show our ID. Odd since he was holding wristbands but alas we went downstairs. On the roof of the Omni hotel uptown - it's a pool party! Did not know that going in but even tho I was wearing clothes we still had an awesome time! The Omni staff is super friendly and helpful.
