She greeted my 5 lb toy poodle who instantly settled in her arms. When we had arrived my poodle was shaking because she sensed that we were not there for a walk or play date. + Professional and attentive. Myra knew I was nervous leaving my toy poodle and sent me a video of her eating treats before her bath. As a comparison, my poodle, Tofu, was not interested in treats when we had arrived. She only eats treats when she feels safe. + One dog at a time. My dog got the kennel cough at another grooming salon where a number of dogs were in crates. That's the last time we visited a salon that needs to put their dogs in crates to wait their turn. Also the nervous energy from some dogs do not help. Unlike at Coiffure, my dog was the only one getting full attention. + Great cut! Myra listened to my preferences and looked at my pictures for reference. I am so happy with my dog's cut that I've decided to have my second dog come here too. + Contactless checkout. Everything charged online and a receipt sent via text. I love the ease of everything. + Easy curbside drop off and pick up. It's also not bad place to hang if you can get metered parking. There is a lot of cafes and food trucks nearby. No negatives to note. Five stars which means I'm bringing my toy poodle back and booking my second dog for her visit here too. Myra is amazing! Today was the 2nd time I've brought my pup Thor. At home, my pup abhors baths and is not a huge fan of being brushed but somehow Myra has gotten him to love it all! During the grooming session, she often sends pictures and videos of Thor through each step which are all adorable! And of course with the cut, she does a phenomenal job with the rounded paws, removal of the behind the ear mats, and of course hes super fluffy!! read more

Before I get to Myra, I want to share my unfortunate situation. I have a had a few very bad experiences with groomers. My 2 little pups came home from one place with bloody nails and injuries. A friend told me that there are groomers that will get very rough with dogs that don't cooperate. It breaks my heart to know that. I didn't think I could ever trust leaving them with a stranger again. About 6 months after the bad incident, I tried to take them to a new place and they cried, trembled and even urinated. Luckily for us, we moved nearby AT&T Park in S.F. Word in this area travels amongst pet owners. The word from everyone that heard about our bad experiences was, "You have to take your babies to Myra." We would also see cute little haircuts on dogs and when we asked where they were groomed, they said, "We took them to Myra." Long story short, Myra is the only person I will ever take my babies to. My pups love going to Auntie Myra's house. They have so much fun with Myra's dog Sophie and other friends that might be there. I know Myra gives them so much love because, one of my dogs honestly doesn't trust anyone but me and my husband. To my surprise, Myra has sent several photos of her curled up with Myra in bed or on her lap. It melts my heart. If you're in San Francisco, and your doggies are your children, DON'T take them to a groomer. Take them to someone who will love on them, and bathe them and give them the most beautiful cut before they come back to you. If you are outside S.F., you should still make the drive. I have to tell you, one time she took the doggies to lunch and they all ate outside like a family. I have the greatest photo of my dog Dexter sitting there with Myra with the biggest smile on his face. Yes, I believe dogs smile. By the way, I called Myra "auntie" because my dogs trust her like an aunt and I now consider her like a sister. Myra is so amazing and clearly has a way with animals. If I come anywhere near my Maltese, Sophia, with a brush or comb she instantly tries to bite it. And, I had heard the same from other groomers about Sophia. But, she is great with Myra! I think that's a testament to Myra's obvious care and concern about how the dog is feeling. She clearly wants to make her clients as comfortable as possible. :) I also love that she only takes a few dogs a day so she isn't rushed or exhausted and is able to take the time she needs with each dog. Myra is super friendly and responsive. I wish I knew about her when I had my first pup, a very nervous Yorkie who hated being groomed (caused by a traumatizing experience at the PetSmart groomer). I adopted a senior pup from Muttville, and wanted to make sure her first grooming session with us as her new parents was perfect. She was recommended to us by a resident in our condo, and she lived up to the high expectations! There is no surprise that this place has amazing reviews. Since it was her first grooming since being at the adoption agency, she had a lot of knots but Myra worked patiently with her to detangle all of them while making sure our pup was comfortable. She even came back with the cutest bow, which everyone at the office swooned over. I felt like I was leaving my dog with a friend, based on how excited she was to go to Myra at the beginning of the appointment and how friendly she still was with Myra after! Myra is very hard to book last minute appointments with (shows how popular she is), so I booked my dog's next appointment shortly after the first appointment. We have another one coming up, and I'm excited to be stress-free and have a cute and HAPPY fluffy dog at the end of it =) read more

Paddington loves his groomer, Myra - and we do too! We met Myra when we were taking Paddington to Furry Tales in the city (also awesome, btw). Once we heard that Myra was taking in pups for her own new business, we were all about it! Myra grooms pups with patience and care. She really knows how to make sure our little Paddington Bear is comfortable at all times. Paddington's hair can be extremely matted at times (he's a maltipoo), but she knows how to get those nasty knots out in a way that doesn't cause our pup too much stress. I also love that she takes the time to make sure we're comfortable leaving our little guy for a little so he can get all nice and clean. Myra is great! I've been taking my little 15lb Bichipoo to her since she was at Furry Tales and when they closed I was devastated. A few months later as I searched Yelp for a new groomer, I came across this listing to discover that Myra was still grooming! Myra is the best, so patient and gentle with Cami (she's scared of groomers). She does a great job every time, so happy we found her again! read more

Myra was incredibly nice, friendly, and communicative. She also did a good job upgrading my dog's service as necessary to include more de-shedding. The trim however, was disappointing. I have a miniature long-haired dachshund, and asked for just a clean up - feet, inside the ears, any snarls - pointing out one particular area on the rear with some matting. When I picked her up, the snarl was still in the fur, and the tail and ears were over-trimmed for the breed. Disappointed. Hopefully it grows back quickly. Other breeds Myra is familiar with may fair better, but she seems a bit unfamiliar with the proper aesthetics of long-haired dachshunds. read more

When I try and brush my dog, he goes scurrying off or tries to chew on the brush. Don't even get me started on trying to clean his ears! Other groomers said we needed to train our pup more so that he would hold still. Enter Myra. Our dog LOVES her! And she says he's really good while he's with her!! He comes back all fluffy and happy. My dogs and I love Myra! We recently moved to SF from NYC and both my dogs were completely grown out and yucky from a cross-country road trip. I scheduled two separate appointments and loved her personal service with each of my pups. My dogs are both rescues, with different needs. Sport is a six year old Wauzer--Westie/Schnauzer mix--who is totally terrier with barking, whining, and some anxiety but Myra didn't miss a beat. He was super excited about his new haircut. And Sasha (a who-knows-what mix) loved Myra and her dog so much she cuddled up on the sofa after her groom was done waiting for me. Myra is amazing! Our dog can be a bit high maintenance and does not like her head or bottom washed. Plus she also complains/barks when we brush her. Polly loves Myra and she always gets a good report from her in terms of temperament. Myra just has a way with dogs, especially if they tend not to like baths/being grooms. I never knew a tail could be sprained before Myra touched my dog. So here is my original review: "Well his cut was adorable. But my dog ended up in the doggy Emergency Room with a mysterious injury that required anti-inflamatories and pain medicine." I just noticed that she posted my original review to her blog and claimed it was a clipper burn. Now, he did have clipper burn and cuts on his belly ALSO; but the injury that had him go to the animal hospital was what the ER Vet described as a sprained tail. I did not post that in the first review because the Vet and I decided to try the pain meds, anti-inflammatories and rest before going all in on an MRI. My dog slowly got better with the medicine and rest so I never got the MRI which would have given me the visual evidence to say it was 100% a sprained tail and I did not think it was right to say so unless I was 100% sure. But how dare she write an entire blog post about this and claim it was due to clipper burn. So, let me be 100% clear, my dog would not take more than a few steps without laying down and whimpered in pain -- hence the ER visit. Every other groomer he has ever been to says he stands still the whole time so I can't imagine how my poor pup would have ended up with an injury like this if he was not being handled very roughly. read more

Since Furry Tales has closed, I've taken my pup to several groomers and have always been left completely dissatisfied. I was happy to re-find Myra at Coiffure. She did a great job with my little labradoodle! She ensured she understood all my requests for his cut before starting up. Our doggy daycare, Bark Avenue, dropped him off at her location nearby. She was great at providing me updates (when he was dropped off and when she was done with the cut with attached picture and while waiting for them to pick him up). She completed his grooming in a little less than 2 hours and did a thorough job. read more

Myra did an amazing job with Babs! She's a part yorkie, part poodle mix and is very fussy with groomers. Myra made sure to get every last mat out of her coat, and she came back to me happy as a clam.
