Went here and specifically asked the finance department person if I would be required to get another credit card if I bought an appliance from Cohen. "Absolutely not," she told me. ONE WEEK after making the purchase, thinking I had a time payment with the store, I received a CREDIT CARD from Wells Fargo with the purchase on their statement. Everything I have purchased over the last 40 years lasted over 20 years. Just replaced my 22-year-old KitchenAid dishwasher with a new one. The K-Aid refrigerator is 22 years old and very happy. In fact, I still have their K-Aid oven and stovetop from 1984 which we use in a vacation cabin. read more

We purchased a new Scotsman ice maker from Cohen's. From the very beginning the ice maker did not fill up with ice. They have been out to "repair" on three (3) occasions. We have been pleading with them to replace the ice maker, since it is clearly a lemon. They offered a solution where I can pay a significant amount more to buy an "upgraded" model. They said this model (which they suggested to me) they are having problems with. We are upset that this has lasted months with no solution in sight. read more

I was giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I'm gonna share my experience with Cohens. We bought a refrigerator 3 years ago. It was delivered with a cracked drawer. They brought another to replace it and it was also cracked. (Afternoon off) I made them take that fridge back and bought the model up. (Afternoon off) On July 4th it stopped cooling. We gave away all of the food and they came to take it to repair the seal. (Afternoon off) We received it back in horrible condition three weeks ago. (Afternoon off.) The ice maker no longer worked, the bracket for the drawer was cracked in three places and it looked like someone had dropped it as it has MANY scratches and divets. We sent pictures and they agreed to replace the doors, ice maker and brackets. They set an appt for 12-4 earlier this week to "fix" it. They called at 1:30 (after we had taken off work) to cancel. I called today to see where we are. They will come next Tuesday between 12 and 4. This means another afternoon off as it will take 2 hours to fix-so we need to get everything out of the freezer/fridge that will spoil. Let's count...6 afternoons off of work to fix something they have delivered to us in poor shape. Or broken in an attempt to "fix." They have in no way made this easier on us or even acted as though they cared. read more

My friend purchased multiple appliances from this vendor. She had immediate issues with a refrigerator and dishwasher but received NO customer service from Cohen's. Shame, shame, shame on them for not even trying to satisfy a customer, especially one who spent considerable dollars with them. Purchased a new oven, microwave and gas cooktop a month ago. Went to a local business hoping to have a no hassle pleasant experience. Today was installation day. First there was confusion about what pieces were to be installed. After a couple of phone calls, we are informed that Cohens doesn't install gas cooktops. We paid to have each piece installed when we purchased them over a month ago. One assumes when you pay to have something installed it will be installed. After being told they can't because they don't have licensed people do to that and that basically we are on our own, I am somewhat baffled. So I call the store and ask to speak to a manager (I know a very Karen move). David tells me that we were probably told when we purchased the appliances, because 99.9% of the time customers are told this. Well I guess for the first time in my life I'm the .01%. David doesn't understand why this is insulting. This is a manager that deals with customers daily??? I guess I assume he doesn't believe me, you know cause I'm a girl. So I let him speak to my husband. David denies to my husband insulting me and says he doesn't understand the issue. We've been charged for an installation they can't do. I've got a cooktop I can't use until I get a plumber in to install it. Could have set that up last month when the appliances were purchased! David calls back in a few minutes. Says our salesmen has had a talking to and that they need to make sure all communication is at a third grade level. WHAT?! Now he is insulting our intelligence. This man doesn't understand why we are upset. I told him we thought we would get better customer service from a local business but that I guess he is just like the rest of the greedy bastards in the world. He hung up on me. When we need to make a major appliance purchase, we always consider Cohen's. They take the time to answer any questions we have either in person or by phone and they follow up. Their repair personnel, when called upon, are courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. In a recent repair situation, the technician thought he had the a part that was required back at the store. Rather than setting up a new appointment, he returned to the store and came back to our house with the part in hand. It takes an hour to drive to and from our house and their story. Very unusual in this day in age, but he did it. read more

We have dealt with Cohens before in a repair. Maybe being long distance causes issues but this time has been terrible. We had them look at our dishwasher, we determined it would be more cost efficient to buy then repair. We purchased a dishwasher over the phone with the recommendation of the salesman. On install they used side cabinet brackets to hold the dishwasher instead of the granite bracket we had on the old one. Upon screwing in the split our new cabinet and didn't mention it, our tenants had to send us pictures of the damage as the installer was leaving. We have been waiting for weeks to hear they are going to repair the cabinet but constantly here the manager is out to lunch. read more

I've had many good experiences with Cohens in the past, but regret my loyalty now. Cohen's ad specifically mentions "factory-trained technicians" in touting their service. I suspect the ad hasn't been charged in many years, because their service is not what is used to be. When my replacement Jenn-Air stove was delivered, the men brought it in but wouldn't even take out the old stove because of its wiring. Then after I'd spent $1500 getting a gas line and new power line installed by contractors, the Cohen's installer arrived and tried to tell me he still couldn't put the stove in. It took me with a ruler demonstrating that, yes, it would work before he grudgingly began work. I must comment that he has done a good job under my duress, but the whole experience makes me wish I'd gone with a different retailer. read more

I bought a Whirlpool Refrigerator in July of this year from Cohens. It is a freezer on the bottom kind and it was not a low end model. We have had nothing but trouble from the start. The seal on the door has been replaced, the door handle, one of the shelves, the shelves don't sit right, and now to top it off after we changed the water filter the water is cloudy and has bubbles and they can't figure it out after being out here two times and have to put another part on here an hope that fixes it. I would not recommend this store or this refrigerator. read more

Wow! Talk about advertising customer service they definitely do NOT deliver on. We will never buy anything from Cohen's again. The only reason we bought from them in the first place was because our builder wanted us to. Their business is definitely not conducive to couples who both work away from home. Their prices aren't great either. We were able to get them to price match a price from Best Buy, but after our total experience, we would have done just as well or better to just buy everything from a big box store. Maybe a few decades ago Cohen's was a great place, but they need to modernize the way they do business. Or maybe their business model still works for Old Montgomery Money, but it definitely doesn't work for the remaining 99% of us in the River Region. Our $2K refrigerator we purchased just 2.5 years ago now won't make any ice and the freezer has started acting up. Because it is out of the 1 year manufacturer's warranty, Cohen's won't do anything to help us fix it or give us a credit towards a new refrigerator. During the 1 year mfg warranty, Cohen's repaired it for us once-which took two service visits, which they only offer on the weekdays. No weekend service for anyone who might be busy during the week. Even though our ice maker has had multiple problems since that one repair, we never called back to get Cohen's to come fix it because we didn't have the time during the week to be home every time it broke down (both of us work away from home). My husband would just find repair ideas online and implement them. Of course the ice maker would break after a few weeks, but at least it would be a temporary fix. Now, it is completely broken and no online solutions are working for it. Cohen's is saying there is nothing they can do on their end because there is only one recorded service call. Per their customer service rep this morning, their solution for us would have been to have called every time the refrigerator broke and if we couldn't be home for the service visit, have family or friends let the technician in our house or develop a relationship with the technician to where he could get in our house on his own. What a solution. I don't want to take up my friends and family's time with my numerous refrigerator repairs-they barely have time to cover things going on in their own house. Plus, there is no way I am going to "develop a relationship" with the tech guy to where we wouldn't have to be home to let him in. Also, as a small store that sells only electronics and prides themselves on being better than a box store, I would expect Cohen's to keep up with what might and might not be good appliances. After looking at reviews online, it is clear that our refrigerator was a terrible one. It never should have been carried by Cohen's in the first place. If we hadn't had our first repair covered under warranty, it would have cost us $768. There is no way we are going to pay that out of pocket now to repair it when it will most likely break again. I guess we're going refrigerator shopping again (since the manufacturer won't help us either), but I can guarantee you we won't be shopping with Cohen's now or ever again. Cohen's might want to remember the fact that everyone learns in business school-a dissatisfied customer will tell at least 9 people, maybe more, about their problems with a company and recommend not conducting business with it. You better believe I'm telling everyone I know, which is more than 9 people, not to do business with Cohen's. I'm telling you, if you ever feel the need to go in this store to check out their prices or service, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION! read more

We purchased our Maytag washer and dryer from Cohen's in 2014 and in October of 2016 we purchased and took delivery of a KitchenAid dual fuel range with two ovens. Within 3 months the lining of the upper oven began to break and flake away. We went to Cohen's and told them about the problem. A service technician was sent to our house a couple of days later. He inspected the oven, took some pictures, noted the complaint and left with an assurance that our problem would be properly addressed. All of that transpired about 2 weeks ago and last week a Cohen's service manager called to tell us that our new stove would be delivered today if it was convenient. The defective range was taken away and a new range took its place. We are so very happy with the service we got from Cohen's and from KitchenAid. We are grateful that they stand by their products. I would not hesitate at all to recommend Cohen's to others. Thank you, thank you!! read more
