Let's see how this goes. I'm a new patient, so naturally arrived 15 minutes to fill out paperwork…read morethat took 5 minutes. I had a 12 pm appointment with Dr Shah. It is now 12:24 and 2 people that came in after me were seen before me. This is unfortunate and unprofessional. In addition, doors are kept open, so from the waiting room, you can hear everyone's business. One older woman was screaming in pain. What happened to Hippa laws and just basic privacy? I will update this once I'm seen.

Before I start, this review does not entirely fall on the staff but on the doctor/company who…read moreshould have someone correctly and clearly train her staff so everyone is on one accord. The front desk should know the basics of billing as in "what insurances need referrals and which don't, basically all the info the patient needs before coming in" I was told by a former patient not to come here and I ignored them based on the reviews. I was told to come in by 8 I was there by 745am. By 8 one person came in and took my paperwork but the person to check my insurance was nor there. They came in 5-7 min later they saw my referral upon 3 minutes of arriving I heard them talking and saying this isn't a referral but did not say it directly to me. The doctor can in around 840am. By this time there was still no information fed back to me about my referral. By 9am I was told that my referral isn't a referral amd that they are calling my insurance. Anyone whose ever called insurance knows that you will never get an answer in the first 30 min to an hour especially with carefirst so me being told to call my doctor would have been the best option instead of this. At 9 when I was told My referral wasn't a referral I called my doctor and they said give them 10 minutes. I told The front desk and they said they need to reschedule me for 2 days later as if money grows on trees. All in all the training needs to be better all Around. I've worked in 3 medical offices so I know how this should all run, training should be better the front desk should be more knowledgeable to avoid patients going through situations like this. Also if someone tells you not to go to a doctor don't do it UPDATE : All this to find out if anyone in the office just GOOGLED my insurance type and if I needed a referral the first article says I don't need a referral at all

Wish I could give zero stars. I have lost ALL respect for Dr. Saffo due to her treatment of her…read morepatients. I just arrived on time to my appointment and they stated that it was cancelled. I had cancelled the first appointment last week and called to reschedule - the lady that picked up even said you can't reschedule on the site you have to call us which I DID and she tried to schedule me with another doc and I specified Dr. Saffo. She set up the appointment and now they are saying I cancelled the one for today too. RIDICULOUS! They are unprofessional and could not accommodate me for another hour (which the staff initially told me to leave and only did so after I begged the doctor) when I clearly had the appointment...they tried to tell me that I cancelled and did not listen when I said I did not...instead of helping they just blamed me. How ridiculous and the worst part was the doc was there and I asked her to help and she was like ohhh I'm leaving early and I just do what they say. Like really!?? How UNPROFESSIONAL. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! I'm so upset right now, can't believe how they treat their clients. I had to take time away from work, waste gas and time, and find a babysitter for this garbage treatment. Zero stars all the way!!!! But honestly they could care less....which is why you need to spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

She took the time to listen to me and I could tell she really cares. I hope I don't have to go back ever (obviously)...but she'll be my first choice if I ever have a foot (or in this case, toe) problem again. I made a mistake and went to a nail salon first, who messed it up more, but Dr. Saffo treated me today and told me it should be ok within a couple days, but it's already feeling a lot better! Thanks, Dr. Saffo! You rock! I'll be back to playing softball & soccer in no time! :)

This is an update to my original review. Since posting, I have continued to experience pain --…read moresharp, throbbing discomfort in my foot that makes it difficult to walk normally. I've now been walking on the balls of my feet just to manage, which is causing new pain in my back and big toe. I've emailed the doctor twice directly to report my ongoing pain and concerns. As of today, I still have not received a personal response. All communication has come through the office manager, who said the doctor did respond -- just "not with what I wanted to hear." That response felt dismissive and unprofessional, especially given this is a medical issue. At this point, it's not about medication or a work note. It's about the complete lack of follow-up care or direct communication from the provider. I don't know if what I'm experiencing is normal recovery, a complication, or something more serious -- because the doctor refuses to speak to me. Continuity of care matters. Communication matters. Patients deserve to be acknowledged, especially when they're still in pain after a procedure. I've now contacted the podiatry board and am trying to find a provider willing to take over my care. This experience has been deeply frustrating and disappointing.

The first draft of this review gave a detailed account of my experience with this practice, to…read moreinclude the convenience of its location, the doctor's bedside manner, etc. I've edited all that out because the bottom line is this: I will not return to this practice due to the egregiously unprofessional treatment I was subjected to by Destiny (staff). Poor customer service is not uncommon and is often successfully corrected by intensive training. However, Destiny's behavior displayed a lack of common sense, which is not so easily corrected. Any mature (grown) person working in a professional office should know better than to insult their patient/customer/patron. The insult elevated her already rude demeanor and unprofessional behavior to an unwarranted level of disrespect that shouldn't be tolerated by anyone - certainly not a patient seeking treatment from their doctor's office. To make matters worse, Destiny supposedly forwarded my concerns and complaint about pain in my toe to the doctor directly. Although Destiny informed me that he would contact me "when he can", I have yet to receive any contact after more than 2 business days and a second call to the office on the next day. As I mentioned to Courtney on that second call to the office, I don't patronize any business - nor any doctor's office, especially - that abuses their patients. There are simply too many other qualified podiatrists in the vicinity to accept being spoken to like trash by the staff. In fact, I had an appointment with one today who was attentive, responsive, patiently answered all my questions and most importantly, she was thorough. She took a specimen of the nail to be sent off to the lab for testing, cleaned up my feet and sent me home with medicine to address the nail, not just the skin - none of which total foot care bothered to do. And the cherry on top, the staff was equally as kind and capable. Considering all of that, why would I want to return to Total Foot Care to be mistreated by Destiny and ignored by the doctor even after saying I'm in pain? My suggestion is that everyone see Dr. Patricia Schultz in Silver Spring - top notch experience there.
