As most home owners I am very capable of doing minor repairs around the home. However a word of caution if you plan on working on your garage door. The spring mechanism can be very dangerous and if you have issues related to that you must hire a professional to avoid injury. Anthony was the representative who came to my home to do the repairs. He was on time and upon arrival listened to my concerns and proceeded to present solutions to my problems. After a thorough inspection he took the time to explain all facets of the repair in laymen's terms. The work and product were exceptional. Thank you for a job well done a a reasonable cost.

The work included two springs, bearing plates, and bearings, and the total was nearly $450. Just over three years later, after only a few thousand cycles at most, the door is wildly out of balance again. With the opener disconnected, I used an equipment scale and measured approximately 35 pounds of lifting force at the bottom of travel and 21 pounds at the halfway point. The door is now as badly balanced as it was before the repair, possibly worse. I knew at the time that nearly $450 was not a bargain, but I was already in the middle of epoxying my garage and wanted the job completed. I would have let the experience go had the repair held up. Instead, I am now dealing with the same problem again after what I consider a very short service life for replacement springs. What finally set me off and sent me to Yelp was my girlfriend's abused garage door. She uses it far more often than I use mine, has never had the springs serviced, and yet it is perfectly balanced. After finding my receipt, I also saw that the warranty was only one year on both parts and labor. In hindsight, I should have treated that as a red flag. A spring and balance repair at this price should last substantially longer than this under ordinary residential use. I am extremely disappointed by both the value and the apparent quality of the work. I regret paying a premium price for a repair that did not provide a durable result. I am leaving a two-star review because the technician was personable and pleasant, even though the work did not hold up.

I am a renter and accidentally misspoke by telling them during my first call that I was the owner - I am in my 80s and not as sharp as I used to be. A salesman named Dustin and another representative came to inspect the garage door on a Friday around 2:30PM and after 30 minutes recommended replacing it with new everything - garage door, springs, and rails ($3250). The sales pitch was extremely aggressive, and before I knew it, I signed the agreement on Dustin's tablet and gave him my credit card to pay half of the quote. This was around 3PM. Two hours later, immediately after I spoke with the property owner, who didn't authorize this and refused to pay this absurd amount, I called Precision to cancel and also followed up with an email. This was at 6PM on Friday. I then submitted a dispute with my credit card company. The next morning, I contacted Precision again. To my surprise, Precision refused to cancel the order and refused to issue a refund stating that the garage door order had been placed with the manufacturer. No details of the garage replacement garage door had even been determined - size, color, style. Despite this, I was told I would not receive my money back. The following week, guess what? I received a certified DEMAND LETTER from Precision. It's been more than six weeks and I am still trying to recover my deposit. This is completely crazy. No work was performed, the cancellation was requested immediately, and yet I have been forced to dispute the charge with my credit card company. THIS COMPANY AND ITS EMPLOYEES ARE DISHONEST AND CUTTHROAT. THEY DON'T DO FAIR AND HONEST DEALINGS. Based on my experience, they take advantage of SENIORS, like me. I've contacted the Better Business Bureau and Consumer Affairs for assistance. Buyer beware. Read every document carefully, understand your cancellation rights, and think twice before signing anything during a high-pressure sales visit. This has been one of the most frustrating consumer experiences I have ever had.
