Decent pub, well located in the middle of the campus although smallish car park for anyone that is…read moredriving. The service is good although there weren't many staff on, the food is traditional pub food with a few American twists to keep it up to date. There were a number of things not available when I went however the university was closed so I would think that during term time it wouldn't be a problem. Service was good although again one of my colleagues said when it's busy you can wait for a while for a meal. Overall I would say it's ok and for a uni pub it's one of the best in the area, it most certainly isn't the type of place for a quiet drink though as it gets quite loud.

Pretty run of the mill for a student bar, some of the staff were amazing and some were clueless…read more We went in here for a "quick meal" before going to a cosplay/formal ball later that night. Note the funny rabbit ears around the word quick as they will come back later on. Its a lively place with people constantly in and out so we opted for the terrace which overlooks the campus and was gorgeous in the summer sun. Myself and Jen ordered first, simple fare with a risotto and a red thai curry of the mainstream variety. And now the rabbit ears come into play! We waited....and waited....and our friend ordered....and waited then they finished and we waited some more. the first staff member we asked was limited in her vocabulary to im sorry ummm im sorry?. After this we found out it hadnt been passed onto the kitchen. We spoke to another staff member 5 minutes later who had a full range of social vocabulary. She told us it wasnt put through at first, now it had and that there was a wait time. We also got offered a free drink for the trouble which was a saving touch. Finally the food arrived and it was tasty enough for pub grub if a little on the small side. Would go back to try it again and hope for better this time. It was busier than usual with the over 1000 people who came to the convention that weekend so i can easily give them a pass lol.

Nice Persian restaurant offering delicious food! I thought the establishment itself was beautiful…read moreand had a charming Middle Eastern personality to it. The garden setting was my favorite area; next time, I will definitively go back there to partake in a shisha session hehe... A little indulgence here and there won't hurt anyone! My group opted to go for the Mezza to sample a variety of dishes: Hommous, Baba Ghanoujj, Salata Arabia, Warek Enab, falafel, and shawarma. The falafel and warek enab were my favorites. They also had flavorful baklava... They don't sell alcohol, but you're welcome to bring your own. We brought wine and champagne since we were celebrating a friend's PhD scholarship. Habibi simply charged a small corkage fee, and were very accommodating.

Great arabic restaurant (it doesn't pigeonhole itself more than that). Set in one of Far Gosford…read moreStreet's old buildings - occupying both ground and first floor, extended at the back and with a HUGE tent beyond that - it's rather higgledy piggeldy with cushions, candles and carpets all around. The food is awesome, particularly the range of veggie stuff on offer. It's cheap too - I usually go in with one particular friend and order far too many dishes so have to sit for hours eating, drinking and chatting. Some tables are 'proper' - you know, real seats at the proper height with backs and everything some of the areas are on the floor with huge cushions and squat tables, great for huddling around and making plans. The star of the show at Habibi's though is the huge tent at the back, with a massive charcoal barbecue in the centre, where you can sit to eat and smoke shisha. Shoes off first though! Particularly good on a rainy night - it doesnt seem that the tent should be waterproof (it appears to be made from rugs), but it is. It's BYO here and there's an off licence just opposite.
