All in all I was pleasantly surprised - not only was the food very good, but the prices are lower than the other all-you-can-eat Chinese restaurant nearby and the food, in my opinion, is nicer. The starters are roughly the same as the starters you get at other such restaurants: present and correct was the sesame prawn toast, the fried chicken wings, the crispy aromatic duck (with pancakes), the spring rolls and the dumplings. The mains, too, are fairly run-of-the-mill for such an establishment, with a range of options covering chicken, prawn, pork and the like and a range of tastes from sweet and sour to curry via black bean sauce. However, the devil is in the detail and they were all brilliantly executed (except for the lemon chicken, by which we were slightly disappointed). I was also impressed that the rice ran out much less often than you'd usually expect and I was also pleasantly startled by the availability of sushi and similar things in the buffet, which went down very well. In addition to all that, there was a teriyaki bar where you could get things cooked to order with your choice of sauce (although I was so full after sampling the extensive buffet I didn't get a chance to try it!). For pudding there were fritters available and a freezer full of tubs of proper ice cream to go with it, unlike some restaurants' desserts which are just sundaes kept ready in a huge freezer or a Mr. Whippy-style ice cream dispenser on the side with some marshmallows. I always appreciate a restaurant doing desserts that aren't just different arrangements of chocolate and icecream! Wide choice of food, although finding the rice can be a bit challenging for some reason, however, as I say, especially at lunch go to the place on High Street - it's half the price for the same quality and service.

But the waiters seemed to have forgotten my friend's drink & we had to ask the waitress to chase it up. The seating was not that comfortable nor the place romantic enough for a date. It's more like a place to have quick lunch or dinner then off you go. Nevertheless the food tasted nice. As I'm quite experienced with Asian food, a lot of the food on the menu looked more Thai & southeast Asian style than Japanese style.

I was so pleased to see that the original owners had returned and reopened it again, but there's always the worry, would it really be as good as I remembered? Set on the bottom half of Measham's main street, the Link is a renovated pub, with copious parking to the rear. A decent sized restaurant, with seating suitable for all sizes of party. As it was a quiet Thursday night, we managed to get the round table (more social) with the 'Lazy Susan' in the middle; great fun was had by all rotating the dishes around the table. The service was as friendly and helpful as I remembered with prawn crackers to munch on whilst you peruse the huge menu. Being rather lazy, we went for the set meal C for 4. Set meals range from around £15 per person for the Vegetarian to about £25 for the full works banquet. The first course was a platter to share with sesame toast, won-tons, chicken satay, barbecue ribs, seaweed and spring rolls, all very tasty and a great start to the meal, the chicken satay being particularly flavoursome. The next course was superbly cooked aromatic duck, eloquently served up by the owner; perfectly cooked duck, shredded spring onion and cucumber, with sweet plum sauce - perfect! The course pacing was perfect, 15-20 minutes between each course, the TsingTao was flowing down nicely, the signs that the Link had returned with a bang, were good. The main courses were the only thing that could knock this from a 5 star rating, thankfully the four dishes that came with our set meal were largely a triumph, the beef in black bean sauce, just melted in the mouth, the two chicken dishes were bursting with flavour and the seafood dish in a birds nest, had a good variety with scallops, mussels and squid, but lacked a little flavour. The large portion of Yung Chow Rice that came with the main dishes complimented each dish perfectly too. A great meal, overall, I don't think I've ever been so happy to see a restaurant return, this will definitely become one of our regular haunts again, happy days!

We were attended by a very well presented waiter who was able to put us at some ease and recommend both starters and main courses to us having little idea ourselves of the content or flavour of a very varied Indian cuisine on the menu. We ordered wine and leisurely ate the papadums and sauces whilst waiting for the starters. The garlic mushrooms were fine and very tasty, however my friend's samosas were rather overdone and so crisp as to be considerably resistant to the sharp knife supplied but on making a compalint a replacement dish was quickly served along with profuse apologies and the dish proved very enjoyable. The main courses as recommended were a Dhansak and a Jalfrezi served with mushroom rice and Naan bread. The mains were served from hot metal bowls and were absolutely delicious. I had some misgivings about a jalfrezi being too spicey for my taste but it was beautifully flavoured to just the right level and the dhansak was just as delicious as were the mushroom rice and naan bread which we shared. On settling our account we were offered a complimentary liquer and great interest was shown in our satisfaction on the evening's fayre. Saturday nights one expects a good restaurant to be busy and some waiting involved giving time to anticipate the pleasures of the dish ordered and in all we were more than pleased with the cuisine and service. Finally the price was perfectly acceptable given the surroundings, attention, service and concern in this establishment which offers a personal atmosphere with the tables set in different rooms not one noisy mass dining room. Extremely enjoyable and well worth a return visit if ever I am that way again from Lancashire.

From the choices on the menu I gather that the food here is Hong Kong style, which I haven't tried before, so again I'm reviewing this as a general lover of food and not any sort of expert on the specific style. The honey ribs appetizer was good, but a bit messier than I had expected, I had the ho fun with beef which was exactly what I wanted, a generous portion of juicy, delicious, wide noodles with beef and vegetables. My boyfriend got a new-to-me dish of baked chicken over cracked rice which had a cheese sauce that I was initially wary of (I think it's the first time I've seen cheese in a Chinese dish) but was very good... but even better than the sauce was the chicken itself which was cooked perfectly and tasted fabulous. We had the Hong Kong style tea, which was good and strong, and they had a whole range of bubble and other cold drinks that I'm looking forward to trying. The interior is clean and simple, but in a comfortable modern way, and the bathrooms upstairs small but clean. Prices were reasonable, especially considering portion size.
