This place is phenomenal. It's not your average cold new age coffee joint. It's all dark wood on the inside. It really looks amazing. I mean Coffee Waves? What a great name for a coastal coffee shop. The coffee is great and I got what was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had at a coffee shop. 5/5 would recommend. I ate here on the way to run the back half of beach to bay marathon while my teammate was running the first half. It really fueled my day well.

Service was quick, thankful that there was no one in the drive thru. Perhaps I am over reacting, but it wasn't minty enough. They do 1 and half of the syrup, I asked for the 2 full pumps and it still wasn't minty. It was a good iced mocha but that was not what I wanted.

On the last trip to Corpus Christi, I wanted to try this coffee place out but didn't have time, so I said I would stop by the next time I was in town, which was earlier today, 8/7/24. My husband and I decided to get the riptide refresher, which was delicious. As much as I hate giving this place 3 stars, the customer service was terrible. Parking was a bit scarce, and customer service was horrible. The gentleman who helped us was not friendly or welcoming. I'm unsure if he was having a bad day or irritated that my husband and I took almost 5 minutes to review the menu, as it was our first visit, but he was not at all friendly or welcoming. As I waited for our drinks, I noticed they would call names as their drinks were ready, but when it came to mine, I watched the gentleman set our drinks on the counter and not say anything until I walked over and asked if it was the riptide. He responded, "Yeah." I replied back with a "thank you," but again, no response. However, there were two ladies working as well, and they were friendly and welcoming.

For the coffee connoisseurs: this was the best coffee I've had in a WHILE. I opted for an iced honey bee after the super helpful barista shared with me that it's not overly sweet since that's my preference. The roast itself feels nutty and chocolately. I didn't spend time in the shop, but noted that there was a lot seating, with cozy seating, as well as study seating. WILL be returning!

Great place to sit have a cup of coffee and be able to enjoy yourself or even a friendly conversation. Compared to many of the coffee shops I've been to in the area, the space has plenty of seating and seating for all types of customers, the casual coffee drinker at the bar, bar tops to sit and get stuff done or stand, comfortable cozy seats, and causal table seating with space to do work, homework, or hold a small meeting. My late and drip coffee both tasty and the barista did what she could to make a beautiful latte art even though she was walking it to me further away from the bar than me possibly her liking. She was so sweet and did what she could to let me get a good photo. The bathrooms were being cleaned as I was there, which made it awesome to know they were keeping up with it. My drip coffee was tastier black than when I added all the things, but still was yummy. Highly recommend this location and the Coffee Waves Chain.... Can we bring one to San Antonio now ;)

I remember seing this place affected by huricane Harvey. I stopped by 3 months after the hurricane, wanted to have some coffee and I remembered seing like a concession trailer parked on the parking lot. Not offering a lot from their regular menu during those hard times, but I don't believe they ever went out of business. Despite that horrible event in PA, now this place is a great cozy local coffee shop to be anytime of the day. Either breakfast, or dessert. I stopped for breakfast but I couldn't resist to have a starcciatela gelato. Hmmm so yummy, and refreshing during the hot days at Port Aransas. The menu has a little bit of everything. The staff is super friendly which makes you feel so at home. Stop by and relax you are on island time.

Had a little free time while working in the area and stopped in! So glad I did. My iced lavender latte was absolutely delightful, could actually taste the lavender. Also there was a perfect amount of ice (so often there's just too much ice!). Also they are requiring masks and staff wearing them, which I very much appreciated!!! This visit had mixed results. My one scoop of cookies and cream gelato was good but they've dialed the assortment back to six flavors and coffee wasn't one of them. My wife had a frozen blended drink that turned out well. Our friend got an iced americano......they forgot her order at first, then what they brought her was weak and bitter, she mentioned it and they brought her another stronger but bitterer version....she thought it tasted like it was made from instant. We did a lot of bragging about this place....her order wasn't up to their usual high bar.

What's better than another coffee joint? A coffee place that also sells GELATO! I was at another ice cream place that also sells coffee and the gal suggested I come here. Excellent suggestion! I love the architecture in this place! Lots of tile and stone work. There are archways between rooms, rather than squared off entryways. This is such an eclectic and warm place to hang out. There are games for you to play with. If you need to charge your electronics, there are plug ins scattered around on the walls. There is also free WiFi here! There are wooden tables and chairs, as well as couches and comfy chairs. You can also enjoy the lighted patio. My husband and I both got some gelato. He got double chocolate. I ordered The Elvis, Pistachio, and Panna Cotta. All were so very good! The staff are friendly and served us up quickly. To warm us up after the ice cream, he got a Mocha Latte and I got a Chai Latte. I think the Chai Latte was the winner. I liked the spices used to make it. If I lived in the area, this would be my go to spot! read more

I haven't been to coffee waves in over 3 years when I was at TAMUCC. Loved visiting and the quality of their coffee hasn't changed a bit. Stop by and support a local business! They are open with limited seating capacity during COVID-19. read more

It tooks us 20 min to order and then finally get our coffee. We were the only patrons at window. We would have driven off if we hadn't already paid. Ridiculous waste of time. We drove out of the way to support a small business instead of Starbucks. They need to work on their business practice. read more

I had the Mexican Cocoa with 2 shots of espresso and the blueberry muffin (warm), and my husband had the Caramel Frappuccino with the lemon loaf. Both were equally delicious, but the lemon loaf was the BEST!!! Great rustic vibe, not too packed (for a Sunday morning) absolutely recommend! read more

Got an iced lavender latte and an iced coffee with toffee nut. The latte tasted burnt and you couldn't really taste the lavender, and the iced coffee was very watery and you could barley taste the toffee nut. The service was good and the staff was friendly and it was only about $3 a coffee for a 16 oz which isn't too bad for the area. read more

I really love this place. Recently started coming here instead of starbucks - less wait time and I think the coffee is way better. Tastes genuine not watered down or full of sugar. They have so many flavors and even a drive through! I never trusted local coffee places till I came here because the inside is set up for studying with wifi and tables all over. Cool place. Decor is a bit dated, like a bad McMansion from 2004. Their coffee is great, it'll put hair in your chest! If you're looking for something with flavor, ask for extra sauce/flavor. read more

Great coffee place in Corpus! Pros: Super cozy nice atmosphere, very welcoming and knowledgeable staff about their menu, and a nice outdoor patio for cool evenings. Very good espresso and coffee drinks. Cons: Saw no place to add cream for yourself.. so a cream station would be nice next to the sugar station. Little bugs on the outside patio tables. (Not a deal breaker as we understand it's outside obviously.. however maybe just spray them down and treat around the perimeter to keep them down. TRY THE HONEY BADGER!! Absolutely delicious. Overall it's an excellent coffee shop, if your in the area, traveling through, or just wanting to try something new. Give Coffee Waves a try. :) read more

2.5/5 Pretty ohk lattes, chill ambience, nice social scene, great for studying. Came here to work on some essays, ended up listening and enjoying the live music as much as their house coffee. They lack in food options, esp when you're coming to study and are desperately hungry for food. I've only tried a couple of their espresso/tea items on the menu, but I thought that they were alright. this location also has a drive thru, but its right next to the parking lot, which causes a little bit of interference with people driving around looking for a parking spot. read more

Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Great coffee. I'm extremely biased in my assessment of this place, as it is one of my favorite spots on the whole city. During a typical afternoon there is plenty of seating, but in the evening (and especially during mid-terms/finals) it is fairly busy. The coffee is Free Trade. The Walls are typically decorated with local art (and its available for purchase). The gelato is pricey bit if you are in the mood for an alternative to ice cream I'd give it a shot. The flavor rotate so ask the baristas, they are friendly and helpful. read more

I went to CC with my best friends for a couple of days and we were looking for something chill to do and found this shop as the only thing opened at that time. I can't say much about the location since I do not live in CC but it is a spacious place with lots of sitting area and a lot of parking! It was packed when we came out so we parked on a nearby street. It looks a bit "sketchy" at night but hopefully the city fixes that by installing more light fixtures. There were only two workers when I came in, both very nice and had extremely laid back personalities, which enriched the shop with good vibes. They were somewhat knowledgable with the menu, and were helpful in picking a drink. They have pastries but only had three items left, and they have a selection of gelato which I didn't get to taste. I got a cortado and was a bit disappointed. I know the drink itself is meant to be strong and have a rich flavor, but mine tasted almost burnt? That taste took away from everything else, but my banana nut muffin made up for it! Cute place but I'm sure I won't return to corpus anytime soon. Still, I enjoyed myself very much that night at Coffee Waves. read more

This hidden gem came in clutch on a Saturday night when all the other ice cream shops in Corpus had lines put the door! They serve homemade gelato and have new flavors every week or so! It's a local business and it feels good to spend money locally while eating delicious gelato. read more

Besides the excellent drinks the service of the Baristas are stellar. Friendly, personable, and quick! We ordered the chai latte and honey badger, both an excellent choice. "Shot in the dark" will be the next order. If your looking for your caffeine fix, good wifi, and a cozy spot to lounge or get away from the heat come here. read more

This was my first time here but unfortunately we didn't not go in we through the drive-thru. With that being said it was honestly one of a better drive-thru experience I've had. The person working was patient and did not rush us as we looked over the wonderful selection of drinks (side note the prices have lower for some of the ones listed on here!). She was also ready to assist and answer the question we had. The coffee was wonderful I go the Caramel frap, it was sweet, creamy and smooth the breakfast sandwich was also very good! read more

Awesome coffee shop. Lots of places to sit inside and outside on there patio. Lots of students studying there so come here if you need to get work done. I ordered the mocha frap. Loved it. My only complaint is that it was freezing inside. I wish more places in Corpus were as cool C.W. read more

A fantastic coffee spot! They have great coffee and the baristas are super helpful. I tried the Honey Badger based on a recommendation from one of the baristas and I didn't love it. She immediately offered to make me something else. I got a dirty chai and it was delicious. Their pastries are also decent if you're looking for a sugar fix. Cute place, convenient stop, but coffee was really acidic. Husband had a drip coffee and I had a double espresso. The acidity in the coffee was too much for either of us to finish--and we drink a lot of coffee! The muffin was super sweet-like cake, which neither of us like. The bagel was a store bought type of bagel with cream cheese. We probably won't be back because we are picky about our coffee but it's a nice place with nice service. read more

The original Coffee Waves on Alameda, was established in March 2008 and is conveniently located near the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi campus, We are open daily from 7 am to 7 pm and at this time we have our drive-thru open and taking to-go orders! Be safe Corpus Christi!

I am a regular at coffee waves (Alameda) unfortunately last Sunday I had a very negative experience which I would have never thought would ever happen at this establishment. I ordered my usual at the drive-thru (dark roast drip with chai) I sometimes order with gelato added and was told: "we can not do that" even though it's done all the time and was on the menu at one point if it's not now, I said ok. when I got up to the window the girl was very rude and said "I just want you to know I did this for you this one time but we can not add chai to drinks" I was so confused and taken back and said really?? I get it all the time and her response was "oh really? here at this coffee waves? well, I guess I've never taken your order before" when I told her I get it all the time but that's fine he then said, "well I've been here a year and we can't do that it's against policy". This girl had very poor customer service, she was not only arguing with me, but she was also basically calling me a liar and really seems to have no idea what she is doing! unfortunately, I will not be returning to once loved the coffee bar. before this experience, the baristas were always so kind and knowledgeable. I was really shocked someone like this would be working there. I like to support local but I guess i will be going to Starbucks from now on where they have never had a problem serving me a coffee with chai spice. very disappointing :( read more

On 1/10/11 between 11pm and 12 am I ordered a hot drink with a sugar-free flavor. Cashier took the order and asked my brother for his order, he orders the same and a little asian male employee butts-in and says real men dont add flavor to their coffee. I blew it off.......My order gets called out when ready but in a very sarcastic foofy way. I'm upset at this point and again I ignore it. Closing time..........employee yells "Coffee Waves is now closed, get the hell out". My brother and I and an older gentlement were the only customers there. I wanted to knoch the s@&* out of him.
