As I have family and friends living in Aldridge, I always have a mooching around the village. Yes,…read moreI love how English people refer sometimes to their local commercial area as "the village". At least my auntie Kate does it, and I do like what I find in the village. Simply Delicious is one of the gems of Aldridge. A cosy independent Café and restaurant in the middle of the High Street that is already in the list of favourite places to take a friend ( or family ) for a catching up. The place is always packed and sometimes is difficult to find a table available, but it just an adding to the success of this independent business. Simply Delicious is not just a café but also a delicatessen with a range of products that they are proud of offer in the shop. From typical Made in Britain cheese to fine chocolates and jams, everything is fresh and in a very affordable price. It's always a great idea to check their products before leave the place. It's almost impossible to not take something back home. The menu itself is also quite yummy. I always keep an eye on the deluxe and classic paninis options. Last time I have visited my choice was a chicken breast n mayo that was served with side salad and crisps. It was divine. The food presentation is also taken seriously at Simply Delicious. It's to eat with your eyes indeed! The average price for a sandwich in this place is £ 6.50 and for the size of each portion I could say you pay for what you eat. And after heard so many good things about their Chef specialties menu I am honestly thinking about treating myself with a proper meal next time I visit Simply Delicious.

This turned out to be a impromptu visit after a late night, and when only a full English breakfast…read morewould do. This is a delightful coffee shop and deli rolled into one, which has a lovely local community feel to it. Arriving at 10am the restuarant was already busy, and I managed to bag the last table deliberating what to have for breakfast. They have an extensive breakfast menu which includes items such as eggs benedict, muffin with smoked salmon and scrambled egg, and a full English breakfast. There are a variety of hot and cold beveages to choose from - Milkshakes, Hot Chocolate, and specality teas. They also have a lunchtime menu, and items are available for takeaway. Some of their deli products come direct from Italy and Spain and they have a variety of homemade cakes. My eyes lit up when I saw the carrot cake, but that will have to wait until another time! All of their deli items can be gift wrapped, and included in a hamper - perfect for a pressie. The service was friendly and the food fresh and delicious! I shall be returning to sample the lunchtime menu and their homemade cakes of course!

Wowww. What a surprise! Jill and I visited Medicine for our anniversary, and were not let down…read more Pros: perfectly cooked dishes. Carefully crafted flavors. Soft and peaceful ambience. Friendly staff. Inspiring space. The owner obvious has passion, love and care for what she or he does. I love supporting places like this! Well done. The raspberry cronut was out of this world. Insane flavor but not overwhelmingly sweet, moist, perfect. The eggs benedict was killer. The Korean chicken was one of the best chicken dishes I have ever had. And I do believe the fries that came with it were the best fries I have ever had. Perfect crispness but soft. Beautiful cup of coffee. Cons. -Although it wasn't completely full, there was a 30 minute wait (which was totally fine with us). I don't think their kitchen can handle the size of their restaurant. But no biggie. -it's a bit on the pricey side for the amount of food you get. For example, the Korean Fried chicken dish, it was £10 and there were only four small pieces of chicken (plus fries and kimchi). However, the masterful flavor and texture of the chicken made it worth it. -the millionaire cronut was a bit dry. The flavors were decent.

Cousin of medicine in Birmingham, renamed and a kittle vamped up to match this place is still rowdy…read moreand serving old successes and new things. Coffee is apparently good, I had the banana cream shake (because I have a milkshake problem) and that was great, thick and made with fresh banana- not a thin syrup job with a lazy bit of squirty cream I keep experiencing. Tonnes of veggie, vegan and gf options- some rather sexy looking pizzas (2 for £10 in offer times) a good number of breakfast options served until 12.30pm, and a breakfast section until 4. I had the buddha bowl, with added halloumi which was great- especially the broccoli, the beetroot hummus and the chilli jam. Opposite me was the harissa chicken salad which was apparently also rather lovely, and came with lovely flat bread- we were too full for cake, which was the actual reason why I wanted to go- oops! Staff were lovely, place is clean, only issue is it is quite loud, so not a place for private conversations.

Beautiful little independent coffee shop near Grand theatre & public transport…read more I had coffee & samosas with a mint dip...yummy! Can't wait to try more of the menu. Great place to meet up with friends or chill on your own. Amazing ArtWork all from local artists so get your self down there and support independent local businesses. So worth it!

Well this is a very nice place. During my visit things were by no means 100% satisfactory, but what…read morealways makes a difference is attitude and the feeling, as a customer, that the owner and staff actually care. That was the case here, hence the 5***** I had a meeting over the other side of the town centre and once it had finished at 12.30 I fancied lunch before heading back. I checked Yelp and up came Zuri as an option. It was a 10 minute walk and so given it was a bright, sunny day off I set. It's easy to find with Google Maps. It was about 3/4 full but I was served quickly. I ordered Paneer burger, chips, plain lassi and a flat white. The menu is short but very pleasant. The brilliant thing about this place is it's a coffee shop and Indian 'street food' outlet. I find that a great combo. Of course, 'street food' these days is rarely the street food, prepared simply on the street in front of you, that some of us are familiar with from travelling, but no need to be precious about it! My order came to around £10 which is fine by me. Now onto the problems .... so the lassi arrived and instead of plain it was clearly mango. I didn't really mind, but the Mongo one is quite a bit more expensive. Whether I got someone else's order I dunno. Likely just a mistake. Next the coffee. It was too hot and rather bitter. Often the two go together. I've had worse and was about drinkable after about ten minutes of sitting. They can do better with a minor adjustment I think. Then my burger arrived but no chips. They were coming I was told but they never did. After eating the burger, which was really excellent, drinking the superb lassi and sipping the coffee I needed to be on my way. I went to the counter and said to forget the chips. There were profuse apologies, which was fine. Off I went but was chased by a staff member who insisted they give me a refund. I wasn't bothered but went back and the owner (I think) apologised again. This was very nice. As I mentioned, they care! So this place is an essential visit if you're in and around the Wolverhampton centre. It's five minutes from the St George tram stop. I will certainly pop in again next time I visit Wolverhampton. The lassi is magnificent. Probably the best I've ever had. The burger is first class. The coffee so-so but I'm hard to please. They really need to reduce the temperature and not burn the grind. Staff are first class - just really nice, friendly, helpful people: the kind of folks you can build a business on. This place deserves success and judging by the customers in there I think they'll do fine!
