We went to Betty's this morning and it did not disappoint! The staff were friendly and attentive. The (what I assume were) "regulars" added to the small town ambiance. The food was really solid (we each got a breakfast sandwich), cooked properly, seasoned well. My fiance would likely ask for a second egg to be added to his sandwich next time to bulk it up, but my portions were perfect for me. Very grateful to have found this spot. We will be back!

Luckily, they do have a large space with lots of tables and some couches so finding a seat wasn't a problem. Their menu includes drinks and food (breakfast and lunch). My friend and I shared the BOM sandwich which comes on a Portuguese BOLO with gruyere cheese, roasted red peppers, onion, spinach, BOM sauce, chorizo, and fried egg. For our drinks I had a cinnamon crunch iced coffee with whole milk and coconut cold foam and my friend had one of the coff-tails. I took in all the artwork around the walls while I waited for our order to come out. They brought the sandwich out to us, but I went up to the counter to get the drinks. The sandwich was incredibly good, especially the BOM sauce that was a little spicy. The sausage was thick and well cooked, and the veggies tasted fresh. The bread was very good too but I wish it was slightly toasted (next time). My drink was good. It was not sweet at all, which the cashier did prepare me for, but it still tasted good to me. The milk and coconut cold foam made it very creamy and the coconut flavor was very present throughout. We paid around $20 for the sandwich and two drinks which is fair. They have a drive thru window on the left side of the building, with the line wrapping around the back of the building, with plenty of parking in the front and back for dining in.

But the quality and taste is no longer good, and friends have asked me not to bring them to events any more. No longer are guests greeted with a smile and a kind word. Instead, there are sullen looks and ignoring of customers. And then there's the community relations. They wanted to have community events, but the effects of those events negatively impacted the immediate community (neighbors couldn't leave their driveway and emergency vehicles couldn't get down the street because of so much parking). The local government worked to ensure the events could continue and that they would be safe. But then, instead of working within the system, asking for help or an exception (which the town has historically done), they decided to have an event on a day that no permit was requested for. When neighbors got wind of this, they were upset. So PF decided to blame their neighbors and town council for having to cancel an event that they never asked for permission to have in the first place. Whining because you can't get your way and blaming the government for your mistake is a terrible look.

There was lots of parking available, but some of it is dedicated to the neighboring business so we parked a little further. The inside is big with lots of seating options, both high and low top. We wanted one of each drink from their fall menu but ultimately had to narrow it down to two: caramel apple butter cold brew and pumpkin horchata cortado (iced). The pumpkin horchata cortado just comes in one size and I think it was 12 oz. We got the caramel apple butter cold brew in a medium. We also ordered a corn muffin, buttered and toasted. While we waited, we secured high chairs along the wall facing the parking lot/ street. After a couple minutes, my name was called to collect my order. The pumpkin horchata cortado tasted darker than I expected, and I wish it had a stronger pumpkin flavor. The caramel apple butter cold brew was delicious and creamy. It did taste like apple pie a bit. In hindsight, I would've asked for it to be made less sweet, but that's just a preference thing. The corn muffin was tasty. It was warm, sweet, not dry, and had the signature grainy texture throughout. I think the total came out to about $16-$17 which is standard. The staff was friendly and answered my little questions about the drinks. I like that they open early and close late (for a coffee shop). I enjoyed the art on the walls, the plants, and the corny poems and signs.

The staff is super nice and accommodating. The menu is pretty good, more than what I was expecting. It's basically various things you can put on a panini maker ha ha. Actually, what you can successfully put on a panini maker! I got the linguica egg and Swiss on an everything bagel. Again much better than I was expecting. The bagel Isn't "gourmet" but it was a nice density and flavor. It also was a good type to withstand the panini press. The egg was clearly freshly fried too, thanks for that. Precooked zapped eggs are awful. We got an Americano, an iced Samoa and a protein bowl. The Samoa was mine and very tasty. Next time I'd ask for a weeee less chocolate because it was ahead little too sweet. But that's not the fault of the place, just personal preference.
