Same food basically as beef o'brady but expensive and place was dirty. The 2nd time I went I just had a small side salad. It was fresh is all I can say. Went to Codys for lunch today -- asked for boneless wings with medium barbecue sauce and got fried chicken boned wings instead -- no sauce. This is a new restaurant in the Villages so maybe it will get better. Husband had the fish basket which he too did not enjoy. We mistakenly sat in the bar area and ordered from the Bar Menu. Manager came over and told us this was not acceptable and who told us we could order from the Bar Menu. But since we were already seated and someone told us it was OK he would honor it this time but we must know that it cannot to allowed in the future. Are you serious, is this Kindergarten -- we won't be back. Bad food -- restaurant freezing and very poor Manager people skills. read more

We went to this restaurant for Mother's Day. My mother did not feel special... Actually, completely opposite! The server was so rude I had to ask the manager not to have her come back! They never brought her the drink, our desserts which some had w dinner and the burger was not cooked right. Um. Yeah. I love any "roadhouse" restaurant (Texas, Logan's, etc), but this one was terrible! Someone in my party got a flat beer and had to send it back. Then, everyone's food arrived except for mine - I had ordered a chopped steak salad. We all sat there waiting, and I eventually told everyone else to eat. When the waitress finally returned 10 minutes later she said - "Sorry, we ran out of salad. The manager is going to a restaurant across the street to get some." Um... Wait.... What? First of all, you run out of "lettuce," not "salad." Forget the fact that a restaurant should probably never run out of a basic item like lettuce (?!?!?) for a second... Does this mean I have to wait for the manager to get back, and then I have to wait while someone makes a steak salad? Does the steak still have to be cooked? Is it already cooked and sitting there? Either way, I didn't even want it anymore. The rest of my party had already been eating for 10 minutes. I said "forget it" and ate the rolls, and ate off a friend's plate instead. NO SERVICE RECOVERY was offered whatsoever. No "I am so, so sorry, can I bring you anything else on the house" etc. They didn't charge us for the steak salad, of course, but no other discount was offered and like I said, no service recovery. We didn't make any sort of scene and we seriously could have. I'm not a very picky person, but is it picky to ask to receive food in a restaurant? This place is lucky that the majority of their clientele consists of an older crowd from The Villages that likely won't frequent Yelp or read this review anyway. read more

Ready to spend a $1,000 on dinner! Went with my family of eight for an anniversary dinner. Waited for 50 minutes for table. When our table was almost ready, one of the owners (Alan) cut in front of us with his party of seven. Then we waited for another 50 minutes for table. (I would of left but my family wanted to stay). After asking a few times for the owner, a manager finally asked me what he could do. He asked what was going on and promised to make our night good, but in the end did not do anything to make our dinner better. You would expect at least a comp drink or something because of the treatment. They don't care about service because the place is packed! Sooner or later that will catch up to them. Our waitress was just ok, she had an attitude like I don't care about what you order, but it reflects in the tip. The food and prices were good. Unfortunately, all the events that led up to dinner results in very very bad marks. I will never return to this establishment again. read more

Last night I went to Cody's. The place wasn't crowded and the outside area had four unoccupied tables. I sat at a table for two. The very unfriendly waitress approached and asked if I was seated by a hostess. I said no and she said I needed to be seated by the hostess. I went to the hostess station and waited for thee minutes for him. He said he had a table and took me to the table I originally sat at. I understand that there needs to be a procedure to allow seating in a fair manner but her attitude started the evening off to a bad start I ordered a Manhattan and a T-bone steak The Manhattan had to be one of the worst I have ever had. The waitress was no where to be found to exchange the drink. 20 minutes went by and no salad. Finally the waitress was standing in front of me taping the band. I asked her for the salad. She said sorry I was taping the song for her father since it was his favorite song. She brought the salad. Within 30 seconds the steak arrived. I told the runner I wanted to finish the salad first. She said "I'll just leave it." I said it would. Get cold. She took it back. 20 minutes later the steak arrived. It was hard as a rock, dried out and the potato was super soggy. I left her $1.00 tip to reflect the level of service And her uncaring attitude toward me the customer The Manhattan was made with Members Mark so they could increase the bar tab. I was very disappointed. We went there for lunch. We sat outside by request but the hostess acted like it was a problem. There were people out there but not full. The waitress came out. Brought us water. Took our order. I ordered a salad and my husband a bowl of soup. After 25 minutes I told my husband it's ridiculous how long we were waiting. I said we would wait 5 more minutes. We waited 10 and our food was brought to us. The waitress looked at me and said I hope you enjoy and it was worth your wait. It seemed aimed directly at me. Not happy. It did reflect in her tip. Ate at Cody's in The Villages. Felt like I was in a factory! Very noisy..server in a rush to get order in...and the order came out wrong and, the meals didn't come out together. Everything is heavily spiced and they insist on putting the creamy garlic salad dressing on when I asked for a plain salad with oil on the side. Food just okay, but I expected more. I asked for wine - Riesling - as listed on the menu..didn't have it. Asked for Zinfandel, got that and it was awful...tasted liked vinegar. They also do not have a gluten free menu. I will say they do a good job on ribs, but here in the south, there are a million other barbecue places that have this place beat. Went here on Fourth of July 4 with 4 others. Waited 15 minutes with empty tables in front of us. Restaurant was loud. I ordered the 7 oz sirloin with salad and sweet potato and dessert. I typically eat a four oz at Outback & this 7 oz looked the same size as the 4 oz---smaller than expected. The waiter did not bring the dessert offered with the meal. She also didn't bring a side dish for another in our party. It will be awhile before I return here again since there better restaurants in the area with similar prices. read more

Not off to a good start. Unbelievably rude. The male host argued with me about seating our party even though we were all present. This was after they made it seem urgent for us to be seated right away for our reservation. I was in complete disbelief the argument was even occurring. Server was attentive and initially I thought she would make up for the bad first impression with the host. Until the kitchen messed up our order twice. Once when a party member asked for no sauce on their protein and when I asked for my salad without blue cheese. Place was crowded, the wait was long. A party of 4 arrived after we did. One of the men said to his party (after they had given names to the hostess): "Wait here, I will get us a table". He then patrolled the restaurant and found a table that was just being bussed. He immediately sat down at the table and claimed it for himself. The watress came by and asked if the hostess placed him there; he told her something and she left. Then he motioned for the others in his party to join him. They reluctantly did; for they knew it was wrong. Now with all seated he gets up and approaches the hostess station and tells them to go ahead and buzz his pager since he was already seated; and they did. I got up and complained and told the hostess that he should be removed from the table AND WAIT HIS TURN. His behavior was horrid and the hostess handling it was even worse. They just said they were "sorry". The manager was not courageous enough to come to my table after we were seated. I am sorry too, and all indications are that WE WILL NOT BE BACK. The first time I left, was because we saw a glimpse into the kitchen, and someone was grabbing food with their bare hands, and then wiping their face.
