We went to a few different daycares/playschools before (a Montessori school and a few different immersive ones) and all were too much pressure for our kids. They needed a friendly, fun, and relaxed environment - with no screens and lots of outdoor play. And that's what you get here. The staff all get along super smoothly and there is a 'flow' to the operation that even the kids pick up on. Everything feels low stress and welcoming, our kids love it and are well taken care of. 10/10.

We interviewed with multiple facilities and just knew the Playschool at Mountain Park was a perfect fit! Their play based program focuses on socialization and education through experience. As a transplant from California I was most concerned about her ability to play outside during various conditions and the Playschool at Mountain Park has made that possible daily. She beams with joy telling me about "the mud kitchen" and "making snowmen." It is such a relief to have her excited to attend everyday and disappointed when I pick her up! Thank you to the most loving and attentive staff who has made this LO transition more enjoyable for our entire family!

Kinda defeats the purpose of a playground if free play/running is not allowed. (The entire floor is nicely padded.) There weren't age-stratified playtimes listed, but they did have sensory-friendly times, which not all venues provide. It might not get all the kids' wiggles out if running isn't on the menu. The main play structure is great for preschool and young elementary ages, as is the short rock wall. There are other toys around to play with, but these have to be kept in the area away from the structure. I think I have a different idea of what a mixed-age playground can handle. As a mom of mixed-age kids, I don't think the running was disruptive or dangerous at all. But it's not my call, and we must abide by their rules if we want to play there. We ended up leaving after a short time to head to a park so the kids could run. Luckily the weather was accommodating.

There was so much for him to do (even though he was at the train table 80% of the time!) and it was all SO cute! I don't know if we just got lucky, but every other parent/caretaker was extremely kind as well. We decided to throw his birthday there today, and boy was it not what we expected. When we first get there we are greeted with the lead for our event. He was thorough in his explanation of the details but only gave us 10 minutes to set up, and really didn't care whether we got done or not, just as long as he got his list out of things that he needed to say out. During the party he told us that he would get the kids at the table to eat with 30 minutes to spare. After they were all forced to clean up and wash their hands, that left 20 minutes to eat and do cake. With 15 minutes left, he then announces to the entire group (us, the kids, and our guests) that we had to be out of the space and cleaned up in 15 minutes. He then proceeded to announce that loudly every five minutes. We tried to get the kids to eat quickly and do cake, but everyone knows that it takes a while to get them to finish eating. With 5 minutes left he proceeds to walk into the middle of the eating area and tell us we have to be out in 5 minutes while he actively took down our table set ups. At this point us and the guests were beyond uncomfortable and started awkwardly rushing to throw anything we could into the boxes we brought. Every guest was helping and trying to get out. With 3 minutes left he did the most unprofessional thing thus far. Our autistic daughter was the only one left at the cleared table, eating the last few bites of her cake. He made her get up and told her she had to be done and then PULLED THE TABLECLOTH OFF OF THE TABLE! I was so upset and blown away at how rude he was being, especially to the kids. He then walked over to the second table and proceeded to pull the cloth off while three boys were finishing their cake. I finally had enough and told him I would clear it (mind you, our time wasn't up). Then he looked at the boys when I was still cleaning up and sternly said "you guys have to put on your shoes now!" And for his final act, he proceeded to fold the chairs and turned on the vacuum while the guests were putting on their shoes in the front area! We couldn't even say goodbye to anyone because of how loud it was. Everyone at the party was in shock at how harsh he was being. He ABSOLUTELY ruined the party and we were mortified in front of our guests. I got in the car and started crying. Before anyone thinks, well there must have been another party....There wasn't. By the time I drove away after crying, it had been 10 minutes and the place was empty besides the employees. They just wanted us out at exactly the time and didn't care about giving us even an extra minute to clean up. By the way, we would have been happy to pay for extra time to clean up. We have three kids and have thrown many parties. This, by far, was the WORST experience we have ever had. I even texted my guests after to apologize for the situation. The sad part is we were thinking of putting our son in regular classes, and definitely returning for summer camp. That will never happen now. They lost us as customers and all of our guests that had sons interested in classes as well. I highly do not recommend throwing your kids party there EVER!

They do NOT care about your kid or their needs, only your $. They never listen to parents, will lie & gaslight you. It's so toxic. They play favorites! Especially for Kindergarten. We wanted and needed a full day Kindy and there wasn't one available at our local public school at that time. She was really ready, she was already reading and doing some math. Princess got Mandarin classes, music, sign language, soccer instruction, basketball, handwriting practice, all kinds of exposure to various media... the teachers were mostly fabulous, the playground was good, and we felt it was clean and safe if not a bit stuck up. ( sorry, but true). All in all it was a good experience. She would tell you she liked the Pre-K and kindergarten parts fine, but after first grade they "treated (her) like a baby" and she did not like that part. We didn't bring her back for the summer after 2nd grade, although we could have. We also found out after the fact that some of their snacks were less than desirable. Um, Twinkies? really? But, I have to reiterate, safe and for the most part, very good. She and her friends from Goddard liked one of their teachers so much that they talked him up in First Grade and the First Grade teacher invited him to come to their class and read the class a story and hang out with them. That was pretty special. How often does that happen, really? and the kids STILL talk about him and his visit. Sweet.

This review is only for the Tennis facility and classes, even though I know this entire recreation…read morecenter offers a variety of other activities for both children and adults. So for myself, and for health benefits, this past spring and summer I decided to start taking tennis lessons. This was to add a change to my cardio regime. Plus, I haven't played tennis in over ten years. Here's a few information: * General Facilities & Parking Lot * First of all, the campus is fairly huge. And they appear to offer everything from swimming, to tennis obviously, league sports like softball for adults, and soccer/football/lacrosse for kids. They even provide maps for certain walking trails. The parking lot accommodates mainly for the aquatics center and tennis courts. But I've yet to run into an issue with parking close to the tennis facility and softball fields. Plenty of spaces, but I'd say more crowded closer to the aquatic side. Lots of kids taking swim classes. * Babette Horenstein Tennis Center * Did I mention this facility is huge? Yeah, there's a good amount of courts. I believe about twelve in total, maybe more. The cool part is, six are indooor and six are outdoor. The indoor courts are well ventilated for the most part, but can get real hot during the summertime. As for the outdoor courts, they seasonally set up a green tent during the fall and winter, but remove it around springtime and summer. You can reserve a court, but they've got various rates. Primarily depending on your purpose (yes pickleball players are allowed), your place of residency, and a time of day. I will admit, it can be hard to reserve a court due to its popularity. * Tennis Instructors * Thus far I've had the two Brian's, a Bill, and a few others. So far so good as all of them have been excellent teachers of the game. Very knowledgeable instructors. From area positioning, to racquet grip holding, to hitting routine and feeling, it's those little tweaks and adjustments here and there that really help. They make the classes worth it! Well, that just about sums it up! Just note that local residents receive more of the benefits versus folks like myself that live "out of district." Like priority sign-ups if you're looking for a class. Regardless, I still find myself taking advantage of what they have to offer.
