I have a slight soft spot for the Buranda Centro Shopping Centre. It is low key, kind of old, has next to no selection of shops, and rooftop parking. It reminds me of the kind of shopping centres in small rural towns in Queensland, not the type you would expect near Wooloongabba. It lacks any real shine or class and is just plain, old and normal. Nonetheless, it was my local shops for a period there after the Brisbane Flood drank the Fairfield Shopping Centre and I grew to love it.
Situated across from the Princess Alexandra Hospital, the Buranda Centro is often populated with hospital staff on their lunch breaks, patients or family out for a stroll, as well as the locals from the area. There is a Woolworths Supermarket, Target, fruit store, bakery, florist, hairdresser doctor, chemist, and then a range of food outlets such as Nandos and Pizza Capers.
I would always park on the rooftop as it tended to be less busy that the ground level parking. Still, during the lunch hour it can get pretty busy. Despite the dodgy exterior and rather low key selection of shops, Buranda Centro is a-ok. read more
