The moment we landed in Kauai, I was looking for places to get fresh cut fruits and coconut water. Coconut corner on Hwy 50 satisfied my cravings. They have fresh fruits for sale as well as cut fruits in the fridge. Prices start at $5. They have small, medium, large coconut water - $5/$7/$9 respectively. You can request for take out and they will pour the water in a cup and meat in a plastic bag. Pineapple, mango, papaya, sugar cane, lilikoi, coconut meat are all available. No mixed fruit cup. Smoothies are available made with fresh fruit. Love their shaved ice. Tried their mango, coconut flavor. Amazing. Card accepted for orders over $10. Visited them several times during my 1 week visit :-) Highly recommend here to stop by to enjoy fresh fruits/smoothies/shaved ice. There is private parking next to Shrimp Station. read more

We came here after hiking the Canyon Trail. Who can say no to CHILLED coconuts?! The coconuts are priced small medium and large ($6, $8, $10 respectively) and is hacked by a machete ninja style. They stick a straw in it and tell you to come back after you drink all the juice so they can hack at it some more for you to dig into the flesh with a plastic spoon. Run-on sentences aside, this place is just what we needed after a long hot hike. We also got a papaya shake which is fresh papaya blended with vanilla ice cream. Basically the Argentinian papaya cream concept but Hawaiian because, well, it's in Kauai. The setting is basically outdoor seating under a canopy. Crowd is basically all tourists. read more

We only came for juice after having Island Taco across the street. That said, for you vegetarians out there, I did want to mention that they are vegetarian friendly here with vegetable stir fries, curries and noodles. Anyway, they offer fresh fruit smoothies (including papaya, mango and banana) and they literally are blended from fruit without fillers. They also offer these blended with ice cream to create a fruit shake. They also offer shave ice (which we didn't try). They also have coconuts that they will hack open for coconut water. The medium is $8 and the large is $10. We went with a medium and it was really full of liquid so I think that size is fine. I would estimate at least 32 fluid ounces. The coconuts are kept in the freezer so when it is cut open, it is icy cold (but not frozen solid). I don't know how people can compare this to the canned version because the flavors are distinctly different (and I've had a lot of canned/boxed coconut water). After you are done, they'll chop it in half for you so you can get the meat. The service was great and the people behind the counter were so nice and enthusiastic. You can enjoy your juice in front of the place where there are umbrellas and picnic benches available. They also have a side area with Hawaiian themed clothing and other odds and ends for sale. read more

Great little place to stop by in Kauai if you are on your way back towards Poipu after a day of sightseeing or if you've just gotten done with Captain Andy's Adventures! :) It is right across from Island Tacos (another place one must try on the island). My husband and me got a fresh coconut cut so that we could drink the water and than later eat the flesh inside. At $8 bucks it was steep but boy was it worth it!! The water was so sweet and the flesh/meat was soooo delicious!!! Best fresh coconut we had on the island! I also got a piña colada (it's sans alcohol) which was fresh pineapple pureed with coconut milk. It was fresh, delicious and wonderfully refreshing on a hot day. So if you're driving towards Poipu from the west side of Kauai, make sure to stop by here and grab some fresh cut fruit or a fruity drink, because you definitely won't get this "fresh fruit" taste anywhere on the mainland! read more

I've traveled extensively through Thailand and sampled cuisine from all regions so I'll give an honest review. I had a generous portion of Chicken Pad Thai that was pretty good (not the best and far from the worst I've had) and some delicious homemade coconut water. I think the price was reasonable by Hawaii standards. You could probably find better food and fancier accommodations but you'll pay more. The best part of my visit was a nice chat I had with the owner (in my broken and limited Thai) about her homeland. This place is worth a stop if you want a quick inexpensive lunch and a nice conversation on the West side. read more

My husband and I stopped here for a chilled coconut and shaved ice. I ended up getting a smoothie too! The chilled coconut is a little expensive ($10 for a lg, $7 for a sm) but for the amount of liquid in the coconut it's probably cheaper than a boxed coconut water from Whole Foods. It was worth every last drop as it tasted so good. Plus you get the coconut meat! It costs a $1 more for them to cut it out so being as frugal as I am I will be cutting that thing open with my Swiss Army knife later! My husband enjoyed his shaved ice - 2nd best (1st on Maui). Scammers! They will overcharge you and then they will fraudently charge your credit card. It happened to me! We had one roast pork sandwich and one roast pork salad with two smoothies. It should've been $32 plus tax. They gave me a bill of $39. My fault that I didn't do the math until later and realized they charged me extra. To make matters worse, I checked my credit card today and see they put $3 extra to make my bill $42.32. A whole $10 extra! Terrible way to run a business. DO NOT GO THERE! After a long wait, a woman comes in to help, checks the refrigerator for cold fruit, says with a sigh, "oh shit", then grabs some warm fruit instead. This place was a total rip off and huge disappointment. I went specifically for a fresh coconut. First off the prices listed on one sign said $5 for a coconut and a few other larger signs said $7 for regular and $10 for large. All signs said $1.00 additional for them to cut out the meat. We were the only customers at the place and no greeting or hello (one of my pet peeves). Once I made eye contact with a lady inside in the food ordering area she told me the coconuts were $10, I inquired about the $5 and $7 she ignored the question about $5 and said all the $7 ones were sold out. I should have just left, but was really jonesing for some fresh coconut. She went back where I couldn't see her, but could hear some thumping. She brought out a huge coconut with a hole and two straws. The water was okay, nice and cold but not much flavor. I paid the extra buck for the meat and she brought me a small plate of this soft flesh (so gross, like raw squid texture) that didn't taste like coconut. I asked her about the rest of the meat and she said "young coconut". I asked about firm flavorful typical coconut and she just repeated what she said prior. Needless to say tomorrow I will have to find somewhere to get some coconut. Don't waste your time or money here. read more

$10 for a coconut is incredibly overpriced. I would be ok paying that if It was a luxurious resort because I would be paying for the experience more than the actually coconut. But this establishment is no luxurious restaurant or resort it's an old house converted into a restaurant style shack. Its uncomfortable, hot, flies are everywhere, and the employees are so rude. I wouldn't recommended stopping at this establishment, you're better off buying a coconut at the supermarket.
