Ok... sooo we purchased a coconut, it was cold which was great on such a hot day. Hooowever..... The customer service here is horrible, an older asian lady assisted us. She seemed absolutely bothered by our questions. I asked her for an extra straw so i could share my fiances coconut and she literally rolled her eyes!!! WtH?!?!? She was watching tv ... i guess she couldnt be bothered. We tried her nerves again when we asked her if she could cut the coconut when we were done drinking its water. Oooooh man, she stared at us for a really uncomfortable few seconds, rolled her eyes again then handed it to someone who cut it for us. Wow! Wooowzers lady!!! The Pad See Ew was totally different from other Thai restaurants.. The noodles were slim and there was absolutely no spice in it. They usually ask us how spicy we want it so it didn't occur to us to as for hot or Thai hot depending on what we are in the mood for. It was good Thai food, but I felt like it could of had more flavor in it. They had many choices to choose from on the menu and lots of fresh fruit. The dragon fruit looked appealing, but it was definitely not affordable. It's strange how fruit is so expensive compared to the states. read more

The coconut was good if expensive. Did not try their food. Serious bad points for selling mangos that were inferior. We should have know it wasn't mango season and when we asked where they were from the owner was vague. When we got them back to where we were staying we looked closer and saw that oval labels had been peeled off of the mangos. They bought them somewhere else and resold them at higher price. Two words - TOURIST TRAP. Go to a farmers' market instead although a friend in the know who lives in Kauai and used to sell at the markets says that a few vendors get their produce from Costco. Bah! I'm a little perplexed by the other reviews of this place. We spotted this store on the way up to Waimea Canyon. It is literally at one of the intersections of the main roadway up to the canyon. Maybe it is because I am a bit naive to the business of selling coconuts, but the 5 coconuts that my friends and I had from this place were great. The owner took 5-10 minutes to describe to us what distinguishes a good and bad coconut. Then chopped each one up into a separate bowls for us right from the fridge. These coconuts were brimming with coconut water and after we drank the juice, the owner then split the coconut in half for us to eat the coconut meat. The tab came out to about $45 dollars for 3 small coconuts and 2 medium to large coconuts. I'm guessing there are cheaper options, like Ishihara's Market in Waimea, but this hit the spot. read more

Great fruit, cranky and dismissive service. We kept passing this place on Waimea Canyon and Koke'e Park trips, and stopped in several times. The eating experience was always delightful --- clear, light coconut water followed by rich scooped-out coconut; juicy cut papaya; a whole papaya that (several days later) was outstanding; and fine, if full-of-seeds and not very sweet, guava. Unfortunately, the service was just as reliable --- the employees ranged from too-bored-to-talk to why-are-you-making-me-use-this-cash-register. The attached clothing selection didn't grab me; also, there's no bathrooms (neighboring Shrimp Station has some for their customers). read more

KEEP DRIVING! This place has a very convenient location right off 550 that makes it very appealing for hikers to grab a refreshing coconut, smoothie or Thai food after an exhausting hike in the near by parks but don't be fooled. Their prices are ridiculous! $7 for a small coconut and $10 for a large. Their lunch items are very overpriced as well. My wife and I split the Kauai grilled shrimp for $16.99 and grabbed a coconut. At least the coconut was refreshing but the shrimp were horrible - rubbery and no where close to what I would consider fresh. read more

This an adorable little stop on your way to Captain Andy's boat tours or Waimea canyon. Had the best smoothie IN HAWAAII here (pineapple mango papaya) and really loved their hand made lumpia (apple bananas in thin flaky crust). Their fresh cut fruit was perfect. Highly recommend!! read more

The moment we landed in Kauai, I was looking for places to get fresh cut fruits and coconut water. Coconut corner on Hwy 50 satisfied my cravings. They have fresh fruits for sale as well as cut fruits in the fridge. Prices start at $5. They have small, medium, large coconut water - $5/$7/$9 respectively. You can request for take out and they will pour the water in a cup and meat in a plastic bag. Pineapple, mango, papaya, sugar cane, lilikoi, coconut meat are all available. No mixed fruit cup. Smoothies are available made with fresh fruit. Love their shaved ice. Tried their mango, coconut flavor. Amazing. Card accepted for orders over $10. Visited them several times during my 1 week visit :-) Highly recommend here to stop by to enjoy fresh fruits/smoothies/shaved ice. There is private parking next to Shrimp Station. read more

We came here after hiking the Canyon Trail. Who can say no to CHILLED coconuts?! The coconuts are priced small medium and large ($6, $8, $10 respectively) and is hacked by a machete ninja style. They stick a straw in it and tell you to come back after you drink all the juice so they can hack at it some more for you to dig into the flesh with a plastic spoon. Run-on sentences aside, this place is just what we needed after a long hot hike. We also got a papaya shake which is fresh papaya blended with vanilla ice cream. Basically the Argentinian papaya cream concept but Hawaiian because, well, it's in Kauai. The setting is basically outdoor seating under a canopy. Crowd is basically all tourists. read more

This stand is completely overcharging and taking advantage of tourists! They charged us 30 bucks for a small bag of fruit. There are local farmers markets all over the island daily for 1/3 of the cost. We went to other markets and got way more for way less!!!! read more

We came across this place after descending Waimea Canyon and was pleasantly surprised with the freshness of the food. My papaya salad was tasty and my daughter got the freshest shake she has ever gotten on the island. It's a whole in the wall but it was very good. read more

I ordered the kalua pork sandwich, which was advertised to come with spinach & tomato, but instead had only romaine lettuce. We only came for juice after having Island Taco across the street. That said, for you vegetarians out there, I did want to mention that they are vegetarian friendly here with vegetable stir fries, curries and noodles. Anyway, they offer fresh fruit smoothies (including papaya, mango and banana) and they literally are blended from fruit without fillers. They also offer these blended with ice cream to create a fruit shake. They also offer shave ice (which we didn't try). They also have coconuts that they will hack open for coconut water. The medium is $8 and the large is $10. We went with a medium and it was really full of liquid so I think that size is fine. I would estimate at least 32 fluid ounces. The coconuts are kept in the freezer so when it is cut open, it is icy cold (but not frozen solid). I don't know how people can compare this to the canned version because the flavors are distinctly different (and I've had a lot of canned/boxed coconut water). After you are done, they'll chop it in half for you so you can get the meat. The service was great and the people behind the counter were so nice and enthusiastic. You can enjoy your juice in front of the place where there are umbrellas and picnic benches available. They also have a side area with Hawaiian themed clothing and other odds and ends for sale. read more

Great little place to stop by in Kauai if you are on your way back towards Poipu after a day of sightseeing or if you've just gotten done with Captain Andy's Adventures! :) It is right across from Island Tacos (another place one must try on the island). My husband and me got a fresh coconut cut so that we could drink the water and than later eat the flesh inside. At $8 bucks it was steep but boy was it worth it!! The water was so sweet and the flesh/meat was soooo delicious!!! Best fresh coconut we had on the island! I also got a piña colada (it's sans alcohol) which was fresh pineapple pureed with coconut milk. It was fresh, delicious and wonderfully refreshing on a hot day. So if you're driving towards Poipu from the west side of Kauai, make sure to stop by here and grab some fresh cut fruit or a fruity drink, because you definitely won't get this "fresh fruit" taste anywhere on the mainland! read more

This is the perfect spot to get fruit on your way to the canyon! Our fruit was refreshing, fresh, and yummy. We purchased: sliced fresh coconut, mango, pineapple, and papaya. We ordered sugarcane, not papaya, but didn't notice the switch til we were at the top of the mountain! Oh well! Over all, the staff was friendly & funny, and the fruit was yummy. I've traveled extensively through Thailand and sampled cuisine from all regions so I'll give an honest review. I had a generous portion of Chicken Pad Thai that was pretty good (not the best and far from the worst I've had) and some delicious homemade coconut water. I think the price was reasonable by Hawaii standards. You could probably find better food and fancier accommodations but you'll pay more. The best part of my visit was a nice chat I had with the owner (in my broken and limited Thai) about her homeland. This place is worth a stop if you want a quick inexpensive lunch and a nice conversation on the West side. read more

My husband and I stopped here for a chilled coconut and shaved ice. I ended up getting a smoothie too! The chilled coconut is a little expensive ($10 for a lg, $7 for a sm) but for the amount of liquid in the coconut it's probably cheaper than a boxed coconut water from Whole Foods. It was worth every last drop as it tasted so good. Plus you get the coconut meat! It costs a $1 more for them to cut it out so being as frugal as I am I will be cutting that thing open with my Swiss Army knife later! My husband enjoyed his shaved ice - 2nd best (1st on Maui).
