Our experience with CocoKids has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing.
As a family seeking support for a child with special needs, we expected guidance, understanding, and a process that recognized the additional challenges families like ours face. Instead, we have encountered what feels like endless hoops to jump through. We have repeatedly provided every document, form, and piece of information requested, only to be met with additional requests and delays.
What has been most discouraging is the lack of responsiveness and support. We have reached out to supervisors in hopes of resolving these issues, but our concerns have not been meaningfully addressed. Rather than feeling supported, we feel ignored and exhausted by the process.
It is especially difficult when we see other families moving through the system without experiencing the same barriers. While we cannot speak to anyone else's circumstances, our experience has left us questioning whether families with children who have special needs are receiving the level of consideration and support they deserve.
Organizations that receive funding to support families should ensure their processes are accessible, equitable, and responsive to the needs of all families, especially those caring for children who require additional support. Unfortunately, our experience has been the opposite.
Based on our experience, I would encourage families to fully explore other available resources and support options before turning to CocoKids. What should have been a supportive process became a stressful and exhausting journey for our family, requiring repeated submissions, follow-ups, and advocacy just to move forward.
We share this feedback not out of anger, but out of genuine concern for other families who may already be carrying the weight of caregiving, appointments, therapies, and daily challenges. Families seeking help deserve support, compassion, and solutions--not additional barriers.
We hope CocoKids takes this feedback seriously and makes meaningful improvements so that families, especially those raising children with special needs, receive the support they need and deserve. read more
