My spouse and I cannot thank the staff, and teachers enough for all of the great teaching, guidance, and care that was provided for our daughter to get her prepared for transitioning to Tk at a new elementary school. I have been taking my daughter here since she was about 3 months old. When her dad and I originally started looking we were very nervous and scared and probably looked at 6 different daycares before we had our visit here. When it comes to my child I am very particular (as I sure most parents are). When doing the tour the teachers were very patient with answering all of my thousands of questions and addressing my concerns. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Everyone is friendly. Everyone shows every child love and compassion and has their own personal bonds with the children. I love how when I pick my daughter London up different teachers (who aren't even her teachers) tell me about little things that they see her doing. The school has been very accommodating and flexible with my different schedules and requests. They communicate very well with the parents (through email and bulletin board) on the different changes that are happening/ going on. I have visited many daycares and this school in particular has a very warm, welcoming homey feel that the students (including my daughter) and myself feel when you walk in. I am so so sad that me and my daughter will be moving to a different city and that is the only reason why I would ever move her to a different school. As far as curriculum and development go. My daughter has been here since she was 3 months old (she's extremely advanced already on her own) but she was crawling by 5 months old, walking at 9 months and she is now talking and articulating small sentences at 1 years if you want a safe, loving, protective environment for your child, this is the place. We've been with kindercare for the last 4 years, starting with our son in the toddler classroom in 2015. Over the 4 years there has obviously been a bit of turnover with the teachers, along with getting a new director, but all in all we have had a really positive experience. Ms. Amanda is a great director who obviously cares and respects the children and the center. Our son could be moving on to T-K but we've made the decision to keep him at Kindercare because we feel he is learning so much and we need the additional childcare. His preschool teacher, Ms. Shekinah, is wonderful and he's blossomed into an outgoing and inquisitive boy who can write his letters and his name. They have enrichment programs which is amazing as well (new since ~2017), like STEM, cooking, phonics and music. We are very excited to see him grow as he moves into the Pre-K classroom. Our two other daughters are in the infant and discovery preschool classrooms. We love their teachers and feel like Kindercare is our home away from home. Ms. Errin is incredibly kind and loving, and treats the infants like she would her own. Ms. Olivia has been there for 5 years and the kids absolutely adore her. She stopped by our home one evening and our daughter nearly lost it she was so excited that her teacher was at our home. It is truly heartwarming to see our children so excited to go to school (there are still tears at drop off, but they are always happy by the time we pick them up). We have found that we can't pick our son up too early or else he gets upset and wants to stay longer. The only reason I gave the center 4 stars instead of 5 was because the facility itself doesn't have that "wow" factor of other daycares. It is definitely old (granted there has been a lot of effort to update the inside since we started there in 2015). I have toured many "nicer" looking facilities in the Martinez/Pleasant Hill area, but have stayed loyal to Kindercare because of the teachers/staff that work there. My children are safe and happy, which makes me feel secure going to work everyday. read more

I want to start this off with saying things weren't always bad! When I first put my daughter in Kinder care I was really scared and emotional about it as most Moms are. They had no problem with me calling throughout the day to check on her or even coming by for lunch. At that time she was in the infants class and they were amazing. However, once she was moved up a class things took a wrong turn. My daughter was coming home CONSTANTLY with diaper rash and not you're average diaper rashes they were so bad her butt would be BLEEDING, she would cry putting her in her car seat and would be scared to sit in the bath. I brought it to their attention SEVERAL times yet she still would come home with diaper rash at least once a week. I would look at her daily reports (like the one I've attached) and they "forgot" to write down times she was changed. Not only that there would be times id pick her up and she would be running around with one shoe on, her teacher had picked it up and put in in her little cubbie but couldn't even put it back on her foot or take off the other one. Just let my baby run around off balanced for who knows how long. I've come in during lunch to see a child with snot dripping into his mouth as he ate his lunch so I did what the teacher should have as she sat right there with them and cleaned him up so he could eat JUST HIS LUNCH. That same day my daughter was sitting there eating with a diaper full of poop. Her teacher said she must've just done it however the diaper rash determined that was a lie! I debated writing this review because I am not a fan of writing negative reviews however after putting my daughter in another Headstart and seeing that I was not wrong her teachers in her toddler class were just absolutely lazy and clearly didn't care for her well being. She's been at her new Headstart for a couple months now and has yet to have such bad diaper rash. I'm more than happy with my decision to take her out of Kinder Care and I wouldn't recommend you putting your child here especially if Ms Trisha or Olivia would be your little ones teacher. read more

My daughter has been going to "school" there since she was 6 months old and is now starting Pre K. Each teacher has made our family feel special and has taken pride in watching our daughter grow and develop. Everyone there knows us by name and greets us daily with a smile. I have always felt that my daughter was safe and cared for while in their hands. She comes home talking about her day and all of her teachers with a smile. If there are any issues or concerns from either side they are handled promptly and professionally and even as a first time "neurotic" mom, they always made me feel at ease. Kindercare has always met my expectations and will try to go above and beyond to make accommodations when possible. I trust them and always recommend them to my friends needing daycare/preschool and plan to have my newest addition attend soon as well! read more

We have sent both of our daughters to Martinez KLC. Our oldest is now in 2nd grade and attended KLC from 2.5-5yrs old. I firmly believe that due to the outstanding curriculum, our daughter is rated as an "Advanced Reader" and tested at a 3rd grade level. She is one of four "AR's" in her class of 28. I don't know who this Olivia is that posted but I think she has the wrong center or may have been a disgruntled employee. I have had 3 kids at the Martinez center. My eldest learned so much over his summer there that he had a better foundation for school. My middle child attended since he was 2 and recently started kindergarten. He is completely prepared for school and loved his teachers. My baby just turned one and has been there since she was 7 weeks old. She loves her teachers and looks forward ro daycare/school. I know the staff and trust them completely. They are very attentive and communicate with me. Though there have been many changes over the years my children have received great care. read more

I have been taking my son to the Martinez KinderCare for YEARS and I am VERY friendly with ALL of the teachers and staff. My son has already graduated the pre-k program and will be going into kindergarden in the fall. We will be very sad to leave them as we have been there for 5 years. He has been through all of the classrooms from infant to Pre-k. I have LOVED every one of his teachers. I was shocked to see the last review posted on March 29, 2012. I have NEVER experienced anything like that. I have been there during lunch time to eat with my son, and also during nap time in all of his different classrooms. I don't recall moldy plates (I don't even know if that is possible), rough back patting, or yelling at kids. I am sorry that this employee had such a bad experience here, but I don't even recall any staff members only being there for a few months.
