I would never return and I would warn you to avoid at all costs. This will honestly be a long read, but know that I am not complaining for complaining purposes. I have specific reasons why you should not stay here with your children. We arrived late and the front desk (Corey I believe), was sweet, nice and very friendly. We start walking to our rooms and the horrors begin. The hallways of building six (specified for a reason) are dilapidated and are not taken care of. The rugs, walls, and doors looked dirty and not maintained. I can overlook this as I am not expecting a hotel catering to children to maintain the exteriors on a 24 hour basis. We get to our room, my wife immediately notices that the luggage mat has wet gum on it, the dresser has a huge scuff mark and the walls and rugs are also dirty. I can semi understand the hallways, but why aren't the rooms maintained? I told my wife, let's just go get something to eat as it was late. We went downstairs to the tradewinds "restaurant". Pizza and wings were okay, not much to be desired. We go back to the rooms and I walk into the bathroom and the bath hook is hanging by a screw. With very minimal effort I was able to remove the hook from the door (was about to fall off). It was heavy enough hurt to anyone. A shelf in the shower was being held by a strip of glue (I have video of me moving the shelf fairly easily). I called front desk and was told someone would be right up...of course no one ever shows up.
Next morning, before I head downstairs to speak to the front desk...I'm greeted in the shower by a little critter friend. So aside being unsafe, this place now has ROACHES. So I head to complain to the front desk to speak to a manager, none was available. I speak to Ethan, a nice young man who was very accommodating and understanding. He explained a manager would soon be in, but I was heading out. He stated , evening manager Yosh, would be in later when I return. I handed the hook over to Tania who was incredibly sweet and explained she would have a manager and maintenance look into it.
When I returned from my day, I spoke to Yosh, who was aware of the hook issue and said the issue should have been fixed. I showed him the pictures if the little critter, the dresser's scuff mark, the bathroom's shelf and hook. He was easy to deal with and worked with me to appease me. He said that someone would be in the next following day to take care of the shelf as he was unaware of it (completely okay with me). He put some notes into the system to credit me for my hassles. Same night we called for extra towels...it's 6 days later, and I am still waiting for those towels.
At this point, my growing frustrations are not worth calling front desk and or speaking to a manager...so I will now list them
Ice machine was not working, had to go a floor up.
Hallways would stay dirty for days. I saw the same paper and plastics in front of a door for two days, never cleaned.
On our fourth night we returned from the park, I laid down on the bed and saw a HUGE ROACH on the ceiling. I killed it myself (against my wife's wishes), and took a picture of it next to the coco key TV chart to show that is what I found at THAT hotel.
I had two rooms (party of 6), the other room's bathtub was clogged. I had to speak to front desk. They came to clear the clog, and left the entire bathroom a dirty mess. My parents needed to speak with front desk to clean the bathroom (even though the cleaning crew has pass the room). which leads too...
Us noticing that bathroom floors are NEVER cleaned.
Dirty sheets are not cleaned even if they are noticeably dirty. You have to specifically ask them to be cleaned (because they "conserve water").
Now....for the reason why I mentioned the building #. You have to enter the main lobby and walk past several rooms before you get to the water park. All visible rooms/hallways are well kept. Which leads me to believe, if you order directly from them, they take care of you, if you order through discount/bundle sites (will not mention which), they pretty much say, your cheap, so you get cheap care.
Remember the shower shelf....six days later, shelf is still not fixed.
On my very last night, not one, but both key cards were de-activated. They wanted to give me some excuse that cell phones and credits de-activate these cards...but how can this happen to both cards, when my son was holding one, and he doesn't have a cell phone or credit card.
Finally...last day just to be sure that I did get my credit I go to check out and of course...there were no notes in the system and I did not receive my credit. The front desk asked why I was receiving a credit....it took everything in me not yo say "because your hotel is crap"!
From HUGE ROACHES to dirty bathrooms, this hotel is disgusting and not safe for children. I do not see an option to upload pics, but if I find one later, I will glad to post.
I would not recommend this place at all. Avoid at all costs! read more
