I wish there were a way to give 2 ratings. One for food, the other for service. I settled on a 2 star rating, which would be the average. The good... 4 stars for the food The bakery itself is very good. The delights are exquisite looking and it is hard to just pick one thing. The cannolis are filled on the spot, so the cookie is crisp and cinnamon-ny. My daughter got butter cookies with chocolate middles. We got an apple pie, which was slightly tart but still delicious and a strawberry chocolate cake which was just meh. The macarons looked amazing, as did the fresh baked bread. White Plains needs a bakery this caliber. The bad...0-1 stars for the service. I walked in and there were a few customers clustered by the register. It was hard to tell where the line started and ended. We kind of hovered in the back, and waited. And waited. As the line thinned out it was clear that the tall young lady behind the counter was ignoring us. People came in after us, and she immediately got their order. No biggie, I figured, she must be overwhelmed and didn't realize. But then we were the only ones left in the store, and right after that another customer came in and she gave him immediate eye contact and asked how she can help him. Meanwhile I had been standing there for at least 10 minutes. I put my foot down and insisted she help us. Which she did. After we placed the largest order that I witnessed, she actually apologized and said that sometimes people try to cut the line. So obviously she thought that was us. Another interesting point is that we were the only non-Spanish speaking customers. She would warmly welcome other guests, "Hola!" but literally didn't speak to us or acknowledge us in any way until I forced her to. I was really blown away, and though the baked goods are delicious, they are not worth being treated so disrespectfully. read more

The cakes here are not the cheapest but they are amazing!!! I just got this beautifully decorated New Years Eve chocolate cake as a gift - and fresh croissants. Must try: Mil hojas- like a Napoleon with dulce de leche Shortbread cookies with dulce de leche filling Pear tart Tres leches cake with dulce de leche I didn't particularly care for the empanadas with ground beef, olive and egg filling that was a bit on the salty side but my husband enjoyed it. Hi everyone! I have been going to Coco Choco Bakery for a while now. Firstly, I don't usually go and review on Yelp. I am very thankful that such a nice shop is even open in these Covid times and such great service definitely calls for a review! A big shout out to Kim and Ebony for being so nice and hospitable (Sorry if i misspelled their names :)) ! Only recently I tried their pandebono and pandeyuca on Kim's recommendation. I have not had a better combination of coffee and bread! I can't wait to try other breads and cakes :). We selected chocolate cake...carrot cake and cookies galore! The desserts were so good. We should have gotten one of everything. The tres leches cake was the perfect amount of sweetness! My husband and everyone else loved his birthday cake! The girl who answered the phone and took my cake order was super sweet and friendly. I believe her and another girl were taking orders at the store when I picked my cake up. They handled orders very efficiently because there was a decent line when I arrived, and it moved fairly quickly. Im a major sweets person and had someone recommend this spot to me. Because it's a small locally owned business, I wanted to like it more than I did because I would have liked to support it. Even though they had cannolis that they filled on the spot, the shell still tasted stale to me. My friend got a caramel flavored tres leeches and that was very good. I wish I had looked at the reviews prior to attempting to order a cake from this bakery. My family has gotten cakes from this bakery in the past and they have been tasty, however trying to order a cake in advance is an absolute headache and I don't recommend it for anyone. I am a little confused as to how a bakery can tell me "NO"on the phone that they don't take orders for cakes. I guess I should have listened because I Visited the bakery to discuss a possible cake order. I waited close to 30 min in the bakery while the woman that knew I was ordering a cake served customers as I stood there and waited for her to write out my cake order. Eventually she did write out my order on a Post-it note and asked for payment for the cake! I decided on not ordering a cake based on how unprofessional the whole situation was from the phone call to the visit, unsure if I will return again. It's unfortunate. Nice staff but terrible cake! I had bought an Oreo cake for my husband's birthday and it was definitely made days ago. The cake itself was dry and hard and the frosting crumbled! I found this place by accident walking behind City Limits diner and I was blown away by the selection of fresh pastries and breads. 3 different types of croissant, challah bread, chocolate ganache and my favorite french macarons!! I give this place no more stars. But to post this review I had to select one star. What a customer service disappointment. I was shouted at by the front desk attendant and or cashier person. She shouted I will take the next person and I have a whole line of people here. That was not necessary. The staff person was unprofessional and not courteous to the customer right in front of them trying to place more than one order at a time. She answered back at me. I came there as a usual customer to purchase baked goods for my mother. I would not appreciate being shouted at as a returning customer. Now I am not returning there again as being mistreated as a customer. I don't believe customers should be dismissed. I hope management takes this review seriously because word of mouth is very powerful for business success. It is such a disappointment. Wish I could give this place a 0 stars. Their service is become unbelievable. I placed a order for a cake 2 days notice to come pick up and it wasn't done. I asked for a refund and they declined only allowing store credit. Don't be fooled. Every business is required by law to issue a full refund. I have heard from other people they have had same issues. I just picked up a fruit tart and a chocolate flan, and both were delicious and fairly priced. The fruit tart had a bunch of different fruits on it, including 2 big strawberries and a nice slice of mango! The cream was nice n light, and the crust was buttery, but not overly. Sorry I didn't take a pic; next time. The chocolate flan was awesome, super moist chocolate cake with flan on top; it would be perfect with some berries. Cash grabbing establish the product is good but the customer service is atrocious. I went in to order a cake for my sons birthday very simple spider man print out design. The cashier at the front desk called out the lady, who she told me would be making it to explain what I wanted which I did, I also said it's for 20 adults and I would be happy with what ever she could do to achieve this because it's for my 4 year old's birthday and as long as he could see the Spider-Man theme I really don't mind. We agreed to a design then she said it would be $100 dollars on the credit card and $80 dollar's cash so naturally I was like great let me save some money and pay cash if the option is there hence I was given the option. The option was offered. Long story short I reiterated the order to her to make sure she got the details right because we had been back and forth for an hour after the reiteration someone ran out of patience and canceled my order there and then moved on to the next customer without even looking twice I was so upset because I was looking forward to ordering the cake from there as I had ordered from there before and I really enjoyed the cake. I was left feeling confused and cake-less. Now 9 months since this incident I left it go and just forgot about the place, my husband went there to order 2 chocolate truffle cakes I told him to give them another chance maybe they were after pulling up there socks and improving there customer care. He went in spoke to a girl called Kim who was very pleasant on the day she took the order they agreed on a price that day cash deal $ paid a deposit for the cakes in cash and came out smiling from ear to ear so I was so happy that everything had worked out and things were looking up. The next morning we even decided to add another cake bringing the order to 3 chocolate truffle cakes. Hubby rang he asked to speak to Kim so that we could keep things on the same page as to cause no confusion. An older lady who referred to herself as the manager was the one who answered the phone and she was extremely rude on the phone, the simple act of adding another cake to the order was impossible, he said I want to order another chocolate truffle cake I have ordered 2 already I just want to add another one and I will pay for it when I come to pay the remainder on the other cakes, he told the manager the amount he had paid for the other 2 cakes $ and that he would pay the same in cash for the extra one he had ordered when he collects them. She went on to change the price on the phone and said that Kim did the wrong thing that this was not allowed so naturally I had the cakes ordered so I just said ok let me just go get the cakes and talk to her about what he had discussed with kim and hopefully they would come to some sort of fair resolution. So when he went in he was expected to pay a higher price for the cakes than they had a greeed to,so to make it fair he asked for his cash back in order to pay credit card for the cakes at the higher price. Kim refused to this, she went on to tell my husband that she never wanted to see him on the establishment ever again and that he wanted his money back because he didn't get his way. I have never in all my life heard of customer service like this, the first day my husband went in she was all about him saying how much she loved the Irish so it was shocking to see how she treated him. I'm surprised the tax man hasn't visited this establishment yet because the price is the price just give it to me and don't change it. I'd rather pay what I'm expected to pay there, however high or low at least I can make my decision there, come on. I will never step foot inside this place again. read more

Your blueberry pie deserves Michelin stars. My boyfriend's coworkers got him this pie for his birthday and I was saved some and just jesus christ. Phenomenal. Ordered a custom cake for my son's 2nd birthday a week in advance. They told me I could pick up the cake after 9am on the day of the party. Got to the bakery around 11:30am where I was informed that the cake was not ready because "their ovens had not been working that morning." Ok-- things happen-- but no one called me to notify me of this. If I had been told, I could have made other arrangements. After relaying this disappointment with their customer service, they promised that the cake would be done by 1pm and they would deliver it to me by 1:30pm. My son's party was at a facility that allowed a 2 hour party time. His party was set to end at 2:45pm. Between 1:15pm and 2:15pm, I had to call them about 8 times to get updates on the whereabouts of the cake. Each time, I was lied to. They told me "we will find out where the delivery guy is and call you back,"-- never received a call back. Then, they said "he's on his way, he missed the exit." I had to call again about 5 min later "he's circling around, he's really on the way." They gave me the run around each time I called. Until finally, at 2:15pm (my last call to them) I told them I no longer wanted the order, as my son's party had 30 min left, guests had already started to leave & I ended up having to run to grab some desserts at a location nearby. VERY POOR customer service. At no point, did anyone from the bakery call me to give me any updates about my order. I had to continuously take time out from my son's party to call them. At the very least, they should have offered any of the stock cakes they keep in the window, just so I would have had something at the party. I don't believe my cake was ever made. I have ordered from them many times and sent customers their way. I will be sharing this story and taking my business elsewhere. read more
