I grab pizza slices about 3 times a week here. The pizza- phenomenal. The atmosphere, not so much. Whenever I actually come in, instead of grabbing a slice to go, the owner/ manager (the older man not sure what his position is) always seems to have a problem with me FOR NO REASON!!! I'm not trying to sound like a "karen" here but I am, always a paying customer, and for him to treat customers the way he always seems to treat me is absolutely absurd. my husband and I was stopping through the city doing a late night delivery load of heavy freight. it was 10:58 and we wanted something to eat before heading to our hotel. They closed at 11pm. Jessica, the night manager was the most kindest, considerate person that I have seen in this business in a long time. we were probably their last customer and was treated like we were the first! Only thing I must note which is not going to change my 5 star review. Why are your slices 10/10 delicious but if you order a whole pizza it taste completely different? I come to this restaurant very often. They have a sign saying no outside drink or food without prior approval. Totally understandable. I asked seeing as I need diet and they only sell Pepsi which I cannot drink. I know. Not their problem. I would normally take it to go and wouldn't have had a second thought. I was walking from work today and wanted to rest and eat. I understand the rules but it didn't say none it said without prior consent. I asked and was refused. Very disheartening being a regular. They know I was going to spend money there like I always do. I left without buying from them. I don't plan on going back. This is my favorite "Go To" for dinner and lunch. The food is great, the staff is friendly and pleasant, the prices are very fair and the different specials make your dining dollars stretch far! They have nice thin and crispy crust that I love, because it's so darned tasty and easy to eat while you drive! The food went from an A+ to a C-. The hot dogs are good. The pizza is ok for a cardboard pizza. The spaghetti and mostaccioll was a f. The sauce tasted like pizza sauce and not pasta sauce. I don't like cold food delivered. I heard many customers I know complain about deliverys being ice cold. Came for the pinball, stayed for the pizza. I should've avoided both. In Melrose Park, there's no shortage of pizza places (although oddly enough, not a single sushi spot....), so my only real motivation to come here was for the single pinball machine in the back, Williams' "No Fear". I already knew it wasn't in the best condition from previous visits, but only after playing a few games did I notice how badly beat up it was. Like I mentioned previously, the launch button is completely smashed-in Hulk-style, as if someone took out their frustration on the poor defenseless game, the flipper buttons are cracked, playfield switches all over the place no longer trigger, the game barely even started.....and somehow, a FLY managed to get underneath the playfield glass. How does that happen?? Clearly, maintaining their 1 and only pinball isn't high on their list of to-do things. .......and apparently making hot tasty pizza isn't either. The cheese on my slice of 'roni was congealed and barely room temp, the flavor uninspired. Just not very fresh at all. The freestyle Coke machine and Gold Peak tea dispenser saved Cochiaro's from a 2-star downgrade (from 4 stars to 2). I wished that I could come here for a quality slice of thin crust pie and good pinball, but sadly, neither is to be found here. read more

The first time I had Cochiaro's was about 17 years ago, so they've been in the game for some time. I've always questioned how, since my overall opinion of their food has always been incredulous at best. It's typically bland and unfulfilling. I can only assume they've stayed in business because it's downright cheap. These days, if you can sell cheap, quick food that doesn't land you in the hospital, or hugging the porcelain all night, you just might have yourself a successful business. If you live in the area, you'll come across coupons for pizza, broasted chicken dinners, wings and rib tips. It's decent stuff. Your mind will not be blown, but you will not be grossed out by any means either. That's one for the plus column, no? In fairness, the quality of their food as seemed to improve over the years...a little...kinda. Unfortunately, that trend has been moving at a snails pace. I knocked off one star, just because it's not the best pizza around and I feel that it was slightly underdone. No browning of the cheese at all and the sausage was a little on the pinkish side. I wanted to try some garlic bread and maybe another appetizer, but I felt they were a tad overpriced. That seems to be a trend maybe because of the lockdowns, so I don't blame them too much, but seriously, a little garlic and butter/oil on a couple of half slices of french bread for $3? We had a coupon for this place so it was our first time trying their pizza. I arrived to pick it up in the amount of time the guy over the phone said and the pizza was waiting for me. Consistently their pizza quality has decreased over the years, but they continue to raise prices month after month. Ice cream cones were $.99 at the beginning of the month, now $1.25 but more shockingly, even with a coupon for a special we usually order (2-14" pizzas and come=15.96) they refused to honor it despite there not being an expiration date. He said it would now be $18.99 and that he could not make any price adjustments in the computer(which is a complete lie). The person taking my order said that the coupon CODE I gave matched an $18.99 deal but found newer coupons and the coupon code was completely different. After living in this neighborhood my entire life (my parents and grandparents as well), it's sad Cochairos has now become a last resort option for Pizza nights. Update: they were doing good for a few months but now their staff is back to space cases. 1) I spoke to the owners son probably 5+ months ago about how a delivery driver was speeding 20+ over the 30 mph speed limit and then cut through the turn lane at Wolf and Diversey only to blow the red light so he could make it back for another delivery. Nothing was done, the driver is still delivering for the business. 2) Today I ordered for half price Monday. I ordered a 20" half sausage half bacon for PICK UP. The total was OVER what it should have been. I asked the girl taking my order why it was more expensive. It should've been around $11.50. She insisted that it was bc they charge for both toppings even thought it was only HALF toppings on each side. I told her no that's not right she insisted to say "it's always been that way". It certainly never has "Been that way" since I was a kid so prices went up again but nice attitude. Ha. Cool thing but it was still too expensive. Sure enough I get to the store 30 minutes later and my sister is calling me "there's a delivery driver here from Cochiaro's". Turns out the cashier charged me extra for DELIVERY and I had to wait for them to sort out the issue while my sister apologized to the driver. This particular driver has always been sweet! I feel so bad for him. I hope you guys still gave him a delivery fee bc it was your screw up and now he lost out on $$$! Maybe even get your cashiers to pay attention to what they're doing! This is probably one of the better pizzas that I have had in a while. I like pizza with a little bit of a thicker crust and that is how they make them. You can get you crust wafer thin if you are into that. I was thouroughly impressed with the size selection (10", 12", 14", 16", 18", 20" or Stadium(18"x26")) They absolutely do not skimp on ingredients. They load thier pizzas up with whatever you ask for. The prices are reasonable but the delivery can be a bit slow at times. They also have a huge selection of sandwiches and dinners too. read more

We have had pizza from Cochiaro's before and enjoyed it. Today, we ordered a stuffed pizza half pepperoni and half sausage. The dough was very undercooked and the sausage was RAW! I called and spoke to a manager. When I told him the dough and sausage were raw his response was, "You ordered over an hour ago. Are you just eating it now?" We live about 15 minutes from the restaurant and then took awhile to get our kids situated with their food. Why should that matter? I then told him I was letting him know so other people didn't get sick eating raw food. He responded with a disinterested "Ok". I told him we would not be returning. Again, he responded with "Ok".
