This is an update regarding the shower. I think the showers need an inspection or maintenance. It…read morehas a twin shower valve, there is no indication of which is what. But we figured the top valve is the on/off and the bottom is the hot/cold. However, the hot/cold valve has no indication on which side is hot and which is cold. Most of them (maybe after certain years) can be turned 360 degree. There was a time I was going to take a shower, no hot water, no matter which side I turned, just no hot water. Then I went to the other one. The temperature went super high within seconds, luckily I managed to "escape". The shower room was covered it white smoke and I had to try to turn it off without burning myself. I notice the other studios have similar issue, and I hope they will pay more attention to their facilities.

Went there with a couple of colleagues - wanted to get out of the office to have a little chat and relax. This was exactly the atmophere there. Fully of gorgeous yummy mummys with their even more gorgeous little babies. Food was delicious! I had the Buddha Bowl (some cabbage, grated beetroot, beetroot hummus, avocado... All the healthy stuff you know!) & the green smoothie. Deliicious! Lets the place feeling full but not disguting with my self! Instead healthy and clean! Will definitely go back

When it comes to classes, if you are starting yoga or don't have refined direction, you're most likely going to love it, but I don't get overtly excited. Practicing yoga for 10 years makes me a fairly advanced yoga practitioner, but I see there is so much more to improve. And yes, I am a yoga snob, but I don't find Triyoga's classes very advanced. I was challenged only at Jivamukti and Iyengar (level 2-3) offered once a week each and to me, this is just not enough...

I am beyond disappointed as the presence of a yoga studio was part of why I moved to my particular…read moreflat in Marylebone. I am a yoga enthusiast and practice everyday. This has got to be the most uninviting studio with languid and incompetent counter staff despite the studio being nearly empty when I arrived. The teacher also only made adjustments for regular students and completely ignored me for the entire class (the class had only 10 attendees). Her voice was not soothing. Transitions were awkward and there was no "flow." The other yoga students are nice but for such a beautiful brand new modern space equipped with showers, the lack of traffic makes it seem utterly cold - the irony only intensified by the myriad posters of smiling people in poses. This made me really miss my studio in New York (modo west village). Another issue I'm surprised no one mentioned are the incredibly thin yoga mats - sure they're "complimentary" but awful for your knees. I don't know HOW they can spend tons on the space without doing very basic research into the mats. I don't even think they are medically safe for hot yoga bc they have zero padding. Summary: Depressing studio with a mediocre teacher. Great facilities. Dangerous, cheap mats. Will be commuting back to Triyoga instead. from a financial perspective, this studio might go out of business if it doesn't work on such things. I'd personally avoid investing in a membership here.

I'd show up with a smile, ready to get my stretch on, and staff would routinely ignore me when I tried to sign in for my class and act as if I was putting them through some first class torture. Certainly didn't find it warm or inviting. I don't know if it's the location, but a lot of the students were surprisingly unfriendly and the studio had such a weird pretentious vibe, and it made going there very uncomfortable for me at times. I'm not a stranger to yoga, and this was the first time I'd ever visited a studio where I routinely felt angry or sad after a class. The bathrooms are nice and clean, but far far too tiny with poor ventilation. I have to bob and weave to keep from bumping into someone after a class empties out because there's nowhere to stand while waiting for a locker. I paid a pretty penny for a 6 month membership and kept going just to get my money's worth, but won't renew. It's a shame, because one of the teachers I absolutely loved and the Iyengar classes(well, with the teacher who wasn't incredibly abrasive and ignored most of the new people) were wonderful. Unfortunately, I just felt too turned off to keep going back. If you can tune out the negative vibes, I'd recommend it for the Iyengar. But for me, the feel of a studio is just as important as the classes themselves. Still on the lookout for my studio match!

I live in Ealing and have been looking for a yoga class that could challenge me and make me sweat…read morenear the area. West yoga seems to fit the bill. Their studio is clean and spacious with friendly staff and a fairly vast array of classes. I also really like their online booking system and their offers/workshops. Bus stop is also close by which is a bonus! I have tried the vinyasa class with Rebekka, the vinyasa flow with Florence, the jivamukti with Harriet and the power yoga with Pete. All good classes although I loved Rebekka and her energy - it's a class I look forward to now! I do wish they would specify on the website whether a class is for beginners or intermediate students. And maybe they could introduce a class for more advanced students... Overall though a good studio that I can definitely recommend.

I'm horribly inflexible, so my sister turned me on to Bikram yoga. I dug it, but it didn't fit me perfectly. Then I found Yogahaven. Wooden floors (don't get smelly), varied classes, good teachers, good vibes. I still think it's funny that I do yoga at all, let alone enjoy it, but this place has been amazing. Especially in winter.

This is one of the best, modern hot yoga studios I've been to in London. Remember to bring a pound coin with you for the lockers (you'll get it back afterwards). So far I've taken the hot flow class (tough!) - it is a hot vinyasa class. If you haven't done it before, definitely take it easy. Now for the hot yoga class - It's slowly growing on me but if you're someone who's been going to bikram yoga classes for a while, this version will throw you off a little bit. It feels like a bikram yoga class but with small variations (and didn't really like the pilates exercises in the heat!). I'd like to take some of the non-hot yoga classes. Yoga with weights anyone??

A couple of good sized studios…read more Unfortuantely they are not particularly open to light or well lit (as opposed to triyoga's ones) but are still sufficient for yoga. The yoga mats you get there are generally rather worn and the changing rooms and main area is also a little bit battered. However, to the important bit, the teachers. Some are fantastic, dynamic, engaging and learned. Some are cliches. Find the right ones and you can have a great experience. Get the wrong one and you can spend an hour and a half wondering if you are allowed to leave.

There are a variety of styles of yoga to try such as Ashtanga, Hatha and Shadow. You can book courses, workshops or simply come along to drop in classes. Many of the teachers are affiliated to the British Wheel of Yoga. The classes are challenging, well paced and I often leave feeling very euphoric. Like many yoga studios they offer alternative holistic therapies and special pregnancy classes. For a deep understanding and practice of yoga, Yoga Place is a great studio to train in.

Finally I settled on Vinyasa Flow, as it's description seemed closest to the Power Yoga style which I really enjoy. And it was perfect. The centre is tucked away in a cute little laneway in South Kensington. It's clean, warm and well-equipped with mats, blankets, blocks, everything you need to support your practice. The staff and instructors are all incredibly helpful and friendly too. I will definitely be back for more Vinyasa :)

Went for a Iyengar yoga class which I booked through class pass. Was very excited to try out a…read morestudio in a different neighbourhood, but we were very disappointed. The woman at the front desk was rude and dismissive, and the teacher was an absolute nightmare. Instead of the warm and encouraging attitude you would normally expect from a yoga teacher, this woman snapped at people if they did something wrong, and I even saw her grabbing and pulling on someone's pony tail to correct their posture. Further the class was only focused on hamstring stretches, which ended up being very painful towards the end of the 60 minute class. If anyone needed to take a break, you would immediately be scolded by the yoga nazi. Very unprofessional - will not be returning.

And then I found the Life Centre Islington. Sweet relief. This is actually a really cool dedicated yoga studio. Very clean and well kept, with always friendly receptionists (trust me, that makes a big difference) and a nice selection of classes. The only complaint I have is that they claim to offer pilates but never in the evening and I can't come during the day. Also they seem to have more than a few substitute teachers which I think if I go with more regularlity would start to bother me. But then again, switching it up with teacher styles can keep it challenging. While the name leads you down paths of hippie women who don't shower and wear their hair in dreadlocks, it is comfortingly yuppish. Free mat rental too. And lockers. Winning.

I really really want to like this place but i am having a hard time with a few things. Coming from…read morepracticing other international studios, the teacher quality i find it quite high but there is a ton of subbing. I have only been to 3 classes and the teachers have been great accept for one that is supposedly world renowned.. go figure, but i never buy into celebrity yoga anyways. They offer free mats but they are DISGUSTING. I asked for spray to wipe mine down after class and they didn't even have any? I asked them when they are cleaned, she said when they get dirty.. like once every few months. YUCK! I don't know what era we are living in but foot fungus and spreading of illness is prevalent through these mats. This is first time i have ever been to (in 10+ years) a studio that offers mats, yet not tell us to clean them after use. Pretty gross for a nice studio. Cleanliness is part of yoga covered in the Nimyamas as Saucha, so that is why i am surprised to see such lack of care. Bring your own mat is the only solution, or keep bugging them and they may see the light.
