We stayed there two years ago and plan on staying again this summer. They have a very large clean pool. Open and shady sites.

I enjoy writing reviews, especially whenever it is well deserved. This campground's review is well…read moredeserved! The staff is friendly and very helpful. Our homebase closed temporarily and they worked with us to extend our stay until our place reopened. The sites are mostly wooded, with additional open air sites. They have drive thru sites too. The sites are a good size and very well maintained from the site itself to the hookups. They have walking trails, a playground and a pool. You will also have a laundry facility (very clean!!!) and a bath house (those are very clean as well). It also looks like they are expanding - adding more open sites and another bath house/laundry facility. It's so peaceful here! Parents can feel safe letting the kids ride/walk around. There are signs stating that children have the right of way.

Lovely little spot in the woods outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. The ladies that run the…read moreoffice are so kind, (not so much for the grumpy man that makes the occasional appearance). Full hookups so you're not roughing it here, they also have a swimming pool for the warmer months. Pros: roomy spots, so you're not right next to strangers. They definitely keep the area clean, everyone has their own rubbish receptacle, very quiet, well designed, beautiful scenery in the woods and the layout is country cute! Cons: water pressure is a little low, and the laundrette is a little rough, the machines are dirty and overpriced ($1.75 for wash, but $3.50 to dry) with 2 out of order. Would not hesitate to stay again.

What a find! After a long day of searching for a campground that met our needs, we found it!…read more We are tent campers so finding a place where you are not on top of each other and don't have to hike a mile into the woods isn't easy. There are a few tent areas and ours was 4 spots, however, they could've put in about 20, so yes, they are huge! We were able to sprawl out and have all the space we could ever need. This campground is on 30 acres. It has a pool, bathhouse, beach volleyball, playground, sandbox, 2 pavilions, and a small farm. The farm has a bunny, 2 miniature horses, a full-sized horse, goats, and 2 pigs. The owners live on the property and are very accessible and friendly. We needed wood for our fire and they have it for sale. They even deliver it to your site. The price is right (compared to Walmart or Lowes where the bundles of wood are tiny and burn so quick that you run thru $100 in a night) Our $20 in wood lasted for 1.5 days, which is good since we like fire! The site was super quiet and it was like a little oasis. Where we were was right by the river, so you can hear the babbling, quite peaceful! We had a bunch of trees that kept the campsite cool during the day. There are some tent spots in the middle of the camper areas, but luckily they put us away from everything! There is another tent area that sits across the brook (cute little bridge to get to that side) and I couldn't count how many spots could go into that area, it's wide open! There will be another trip planned!

Such a GORGEOUS park in the middle of small town North Carolina just outside of Charlotte. Lake…read moresports, fishing, children's parks and events, the place is HUGE. Camping hours locks you in after closing with private access should you need to exit. Ranger is a friendly bloke that was so helpful. Peaceful, full hookups and onsite black tank disposal. Note, it's a public park - so you're not going to have control over whom your neighbours are, but we got lucky and the possible problem guests were leaving as we arrived (yay!).

There's also a carousel, a barnyard to pet farm animals, an aquarium/exhibit with live animals inside of it in the nature center, a splash pad, mini golf, trails for walking, and some wildlife habitats outside that have wild animals as well. We didn't get to do the train, as it was closed; but there was still so much to enjoy at the park. Me and my bestie brought our kids and they had a blast! We spent a solid 2-3 hrs there and had a great time. It's also very inexpensive!! Some things that I will say is that the bathrooms are not very clean and don't even work but it's an old place, so that's to be expected and we're not there to use the restroom, we're there to play! Bring cash for extra things, like carousel, barnyard, animal exhibits, etc...sometimes their card reader doesn't work and they can only accept cash. There's even a cute place to shop where you purchase tickets for everything with toys and snacks inside! All in all, we had a great time! Keep in mind this place is old, but it definitely still has charm, and stands out against the other parks around. The animal exhibits, including the barnyard petting activity is a hit or miss, because this place is not a zoo. The animals have plenty of room to hide and/or roam to get space, which is a great thing!!! But some people might be upset after paying and not really being able to see the animals. Highly recommend!!! Go if you haven't!!!!
