To add to the complexity of the project, John worked with us remotely from beginning to end, as we are on the mainland most of the year. John did an amazing job - just what we asked for - as he renovated all flooring, cabinetry, resurfaced and painted walls and ceilings, replaced all tile in the bath, had plumbing and new electrical routed as needed, and installed all new appliances, fixtures, doors, hardware and cabinetry. Again...all of this he did remotely as we communicated by phone, text, and photos. The entire renovation was completed on budget (taking into account a few changes we asked for mid-build) and on-time. When we finally were able to come out to Maui and visit the completed condo, it was great to see what a great job John had done. His attention to detail and getting all the facets of the job done right are greatly appreciated. We finally were able to meet John on this last visit too - he's a real personable guy who listens and has good suggestions. We recommend John for whatever job you'd like to approach him with. - Dave A.

What a great contractor! Kurt Duval is the owner/operator of Duval Tile & Stone. Kurt is fully…read morelicensed and insured, and his company has been operating on Maui for over 17 years. Kurt's level of care and commitment is simply unparalleled, and his work shows the highest levels of experience and skill. He is very passionate about his work and a true artist in his field. Moreover, he is an extremely nice guy, and his rates are very competitive. Duval Tile & Stone recently tiled the entryway to our townhome in Wailea as well as a very large lanai in the back of our unit. When our unit was built in 2007, the cement pads laid by the builder were not level or "square", and over the years hairline cracks had developed in the cement. To ensure that the new porcelain tile that Kurt was installing for us would be level and resistent to developing cracks in the future, he had to do a significant amount of remedial work to level the cement pads and seal all existing cracks before laying any new tile. The best part about hiring Duval Tile & Stone is that the owner, Kurt Duval, actually does all of the tile work himself. Typically, you will only see the owner of a tile company two times: 1) when you get the initial bid, and 2) when you give him the final payment. That is definitely not the case with Kurt Duval. He is on the worksite EVERY DAY, doing all of the work himself. Why? Because he wants the job done right! Kurt's work ethic is truly amazing in this day and age! So, how did it all turn out? Well, Kurt did a wonderful job in installing all of the tiles. And, by the way, everyday he left the worksite neat and clean. Professionalism, integrity, and craftsmanship -- this is what Kurt Duval brings to the job. Needless to say, my wife and I are delighted with our new entryway and lanai, and we will definitely use Duval Tile & Stone for any future projects. We highly recommend Duval Tile & Stone!

He personally did the template and coordinated the pick up of the granite from Hawaii Ceramic, who also spoke very highly of Rob and his company. When it came to the install, his crew, with Rob, came to my house and treated our home as if it were their own. His crew was very professional and courtious, all of his guys showed great workmanship and were very meticulous in the installation process. We were so impressed, we hired Rob and his company to install our master bathroom shower and granite vanity top as well. I will post pictures on his website, of both the kitchen and bathroom work they did. We would highly recomend Accurate Tile and Marble to any one in need of granite or tile work done on Maui.
