They just did a renovation job on one of my rental properties in Makiki. It included reflooring, painting, and numerous repairs and they delivered more than they promised. They are honest, reasonable, communicative, reliable, accommodating, and best of all hardworking with great quality workmanship. These qualities are certainly challenging to find in a handyman these days but I am happy to recommend them. I worked with Donovan, the foreman who kept in touch with me everyday and sent me photos of their progress. He is professional and super friendly and I appreciate how he met me at the hardware store, shopped for all the materials, and I paid the hardware store. This way I'm not making a blind deposit for "materials" bearing the risk of the contractor taking the money and running. Once a contract is signed they did require 50% Deposit on the labor cost but the work was already in progress. They're also fully insured. A neighbor in the same building was so impressed with their work that they hired them on the spot to have their flooring redone as well! I found AllTech Professionals on Yelp through their "Obtain a Quote" process. I love Yelp for this feature as it has saved me so much time on managing my projects. They responded right away, showed up on time to the appointment, understood the tasks without overselling, we worked on the written agreement and purchased supplies the next day, and the job started the day after and was finished in the estimated timeframe they promised. First we came across a large patch of mold under the old flooring which caused 2 days delay while my trusty handyman Carl and I did some remediation. Then Spencer's wife went into labor and Les was left babysitting "big" brother while Spence was standing by in hospital for the birth of his new daughter. The floor required 17 bags of self leveler, 6 of which Les had on hand and for which he comped me. He & the crew removed the appliances back and forth to the carport without batting an eye. Never once did I hear a complaint and Les stayed calm as a cucumber throughout all the delays. Remarkably, the tenants were able to move back in only one day later than planned! Even more amazing, the total price came in at 42% or more LESS than the estimate by my original flooring contractor, Freestyle, who had canceled a couple of weeks prior (with deposit in hand!) due to a personality issue. What a blessing in disguise THAT was!! Les will be installing an engineered wood floor in my own house next month and his estimate (as well as the other two that I obtained) is a whopping 64% less than Freestyle! No trying to find them out surfing in front of my house at Sandpiles! They are professionals, leveled our plywood subfloor, and laid the base concrete so we would have perfectly level vinyl floors. Les and his team installed the baseboards, reducers, and transitions and they all look amazing. They hauled away our old floor, moved our furniture, cleaned up after themselves every day, and even returned our extra flooring so we could have a refund. Les' pricing is very reasonable in Maui's tight market given how difficult it is to find qualified contractors. Overall we are extremely happy and satisfied.
