I told Johnathan I wanted regular lawn care in the summer months and in the off-season I would want other things done such as pruning hydrangeas and trimming hedges, etc. I was satisfied with his regular lawn care but in the off-season he continued billing me monthly without doing the work. I think he didn't expect me to go to the house and see that he hadn't done the work. I called Johnathan to ask why the work wasn't being done and to make sure he knew what I wanted done and he said he understood, he just hadn't gotten to it. When I came out to the property two months later the work still hadn't been done while he continued to bill me. When I called to tell him I wouldn't be paying him for unrendered services and I was cancelling his service he was indignant and said that's how business was done (that it was normal to bill monthly without doing any work).

At the end of day one (it was only supposed to take 1 day), he left without a word to me and the job unfinished. When I contacted him that evening, he said he'd be back the next day to finish up. After spending a couple more hours on my job, he disappeared without a word, never to return, and with the job still not completed to specifications. That night, he sent me an invoice. When I contacted him about the situation, he said he had underestimated the cost of the job and quit before he lost any more money! Now I have to find someone else to complete the job he was hired for. Hard worker, but bad businessman and communicator.
