I assumed they were just up front helping another customer. I was perusing and enjoying all of the precious baby clothes when a sales associate asked if I was still doing okay? Which threw me off a little because no one had helped me, yet. She was kind to take the items up front that I was carrying. I couldn't decide on a theme for my gifts, because there were so many cute things to choose from! So, when I went to checkout, I asked for help. That's when the magic happened. The two other sales associates up front helped me make decisions and we chatted. They made the whole experience better! I cannot wait to give my friend these gifts for her baby shower. I will definitely come back for baby gifts in the future. My one big suggestion is that their should be a welcome form employees when people walk through the door and warm customer service from the start of the shopping experience.

When I came to pay, they asked me to come by the next day because the stroller was "in a warehouse around the corner" and they didn't want to pick it up for whatever reason. There were four employees in the small boutique store, and only a few customers that were perusing/asking questions about strollers. I let them know that I needed the stroller tomorrow and also that it would be really hard to drive in on a workday in traffic to grab it, but they still said they couldn't pick it up because they were too busy with other customers for the rest of the day (like what???)... I left and am planning on purchasing from another store. Baffled as to how they make sense of letting someone buying an expensive stroller with no fuss or questions walk out of the door.

At this point, the deals are great, but the attitudes of the people running this event are something else. Since it was the last day and most items were 50% off, I was excited to shop for some good deals. However, the ladies at the entrance were already coming across as condescending toward people walking in. When it was finally my turn to enter, I grabbed a bouncer I had been eyeing. Since my husband hadn't arrived yet, I had to carry that thing around while browsing and shopping for at least an hour and a half. Once he arrived, I purchased it, and he took it out to the car for me. With my hands finally free, I was able to check out the books and toys, where I found some AMAZING steals! Unfortunately, my bag ended up overflowing, and I was struggling to carry everything from the back of the shop to the front. The OWNER was literally standing right next to me at the back of the shop, watching me struggle, and couldn't even offer to help. Not even a simple, "Do you need a hand?" As I was gathering all of my things together to make my way to the front, things kept falling out of my bag, and I had to keep going back to pick them up. The lack of basic courtesy and helpfulness was honestly astounding. Sales was not even busy by this time because it had been over 2-3 hours since the event started and the shop was pretty empty, and still being condescending and watching customers struggle without offering the slightest bit of help is just poor customer service. And this wasn't even my first bad experience here! I WILL give credit to the cashier whose name started with an S (I'm so sorry I can't remember your name ). She was genuinely friendly, and my checkout experience was great. She actually made me feel welcomed and taken care of, which was a nice change from the rest of the experience. Will I come back to future pop-ups? Honestly, yes, because there are some genuinely great deals to be found, especially on the last day. But let's be real: great deals do not excuse terrible customer service. If you're planning to shop here, go for the steals, but don't expect the workers or volunteers to be particularly welcoming or helpful. Be prepared to carry your own stuff if you don't have a stroller or wagon, and don't count on anyone offering you a hand. It's a shame because the merchandise and deals are worth coming back for, but the customer service could seriously use some work. You can run a successful sale AND treat your customers with basic respect. The two aren't mutually exclusive.

We initially stopped in just to look at bedroom furniture for our son and were immediately greeted by Leilani, who was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. She took the time to walk us through the different options, offered great recommendations, and never made us feel pressured to purchase. Since we still needed to go home and take measurements, she gave us her card and told us to reach out whenever we were ready. One suggestion we especially loved was to show our son the different bedding and sheet options and let him be part of choosing everything for his new room. It was such a thoughtful idea, and he was SO excited to be involved in the process! When we were ready to order, I emailed Leilani without realizing it was actually her day off. Not only did she see my message, but she went out of her way to connect us with another manager (Deeon) at the store so we could get everything taken care of without having to wait. That level of dedication and customer service really impressed us! The ordering process was completely seamless, everything arrived promptly, and today we had the final step: white-glove delivery of the bedroom furniture. The delivery service was impeccable as well. We truly could not be happier with the entire experience. From our first visit through ordering and delivery, everyone at Pottery Barn Kids South Coast Plaza was fantastic. A huge thank you to Leilani and Deeon for going above and beyond and making the whole process so easy and enjoyable. We highly recommend this store and their wonderful team!

But as we were looking around more people would come and right away they welcomed them with great greeting and asking them right away if they needed help. While we were just ignored. Why of course we're Hispanic. They think how would we ever afford anything here. I regret buying his backpack because why buy from a business when they treated us such way. But we ended getting his backpack because we didn't want to ruined his excitement. It's not my son's fault the employees here are racist and rude. Looking back and just now seeing there reviews I wish I should've seen how many experienced the same experience as well. And Pottery Barn Kids never responds.
