They were friendly and welcoming and made sure that all of our questions were answered. The whole experience is neat because in such a small area, there are so many things to see, smell, and read! Wish I had visited earlier because it is truly a gem of a garden! Due to construction, we were only able to visit about half of the garden. That was a bummer, but what was available for viewing was gorgeous. From the cactus and succulent garden to the tropical banana trees to the seasonal flower beds and shade garden, it was all really beautiful. Also, there was an ikebana show and demo happening that day for free as part of our admission fee. It was a really cool show, the demos were super interesting, and my hubs won one of the pretty arrangements they raffled off! Such a great way to spend a morning.

We brought our little pug as well. He had a fun time barking at all of the other four legged friends while exploring the grounds. They also had water bowls around the gardens as well as free treats for the furbabies. Lots of shade after 5pm! Overall fun experience. The tickets for Yappy Hour are a bit pricey considering how little of the gardens we got to see because of the construction. Still a fun experience seeing our little pug socialize with other dogs. Our tickets each came with a free drink voucher. They had a good selection of beers and wines. We'll definitely come back for the next Yappy Hour!

I had it on my list of places to visit and finally I went there last week and I am so happy that I did. The kind docent Nicole gave me a quick tour of the museum. The museum is all about the history of Southen OC cities which was owned by a guy named Lewis Moulton. The museum is not open every day so check their website before going there. It is for sure worth checking it out!

As much as I enjoy viewing art I harbor some strong feelings about paying to do so. My issues…read morearen't centered around museum entrance fees or even around art and craft shows but the latter is where my biases stat to arise. There's a million art/craft shows that are free of entrance fees so when I pay to enter I want to feel that there's a good reason to do so. And generally, that reason should be the art. I never mind paying to enter the nearby Festival of the Arts. The art is excellent as is the setting and the music. The Laguna Art-A-Fair charges an admission fee of about $10 and neither the setting nor the art struck me as worth the price of admission. There are musical acts to catch here, but I visited on a weekday and there were none. Some of the artists who have been selected to show at the Festival of the Arts have also chosen to show their work here. The former is a highly competitive bar to scale. The bar for showing at the latter is far lower and sadly, I thought less of the artists who chose to show here when their works had been selected for inclusion at the Festival of the Arts. The Art-A-Fair isn't a bad experience but rather, more of a blah experience. I enjoyed walking around and looking at the work but feel there's places to either see better art or pay less (or nothing) to see the equivalent of what's here.
