Small and wonderful! All 3 floors were open and there was a silent auction occupying the main floor, which was wonderful since it offered a wide range of artists and media. The top floor was also a great extra experience as it featured 6 master's student from the Laguna College of Art and Design (titled Undercurrents). Also, there were several well informed, friendly and helpful docents. Thank you LAM!!! Hope you enjoy a few of our favorite pieces.

Wow! Next level Art experience. I joined my daughter on her Art Museum project for one of her college credits and absolutely fell in love with this museum. A very special thank you to Linda who was gracious enough to escort us through the exhibit. Her knowledge was incredible and made this experience a wonderful lifetime memory for us. Thank you!

I bought a ticket here using the OC Library Discovery Pass. It's a nice small library. It showcases local art students pieces which is nice. It has a mixture of different art themes. They currently have a jewelry exhibit that is very pretty as well and I think worth visiting. This is a small museum, so really only need an hour here or maybe less. It is located in downtown Laguna, so it's a nice stop along the beach.

Very friendly staff and they offer discounts to students, military, and seniors. Purchased a pair of earrings from the gift shop that I love. Can't wait to come back and catch the next installation.

We had our annual Valiant Women membership meeting and breakfast this morning at the Laguna Art Museum... Wonderful and informative tour afterwards with the ExecutiveDirector Julie Lee. She did an amazing job explaining most of the art that was presented. This is a smaller Art museum but it is packed with very interesting artists. Since 1918 Laguna art museum has brought our into the lives of millions of people. They also offer Many programs and events all through the month. Become a member today the memories the inspiration and the connection all await you. Membership for an individual is only $60 a year. $30 for a student. ( unlimited daily admission to the art museum and exhibits. Discounts on select ticketed programming or discussions and performances) and the annual membership appreciation week...

The Laguna Art Museum is located off of PCH near the iconic Las Brisas in Laguna Beach. It's a smaller museum housing contemporary, modern art. We were greeted by a staff member upon entering and asked if we were Bank of America customers. For Bank of America customers, the first weekend of each month is free, so my husband and I took advantage of the free admission to visit. We were informed that we could take photos on all of the floors except for the lowest level where the special jewelry exhibition was on display. We made our way through the different levels seeing some local artists' work from LCAD, as well as some more well known artists like Frank Gehry. The museum is quiet and very walkable in an hour or two. The lower level Adam Neeley jewelry exhibit, showcasing a local Laguna Beach native, is quite spectacular so I was glad we were able to see it. Afterwards, we dipped our toes in the ocean and made our way back to the free LB trolley. It's definitely a great way to spend the afternoon, if you're local.

You do choose a time slot to enter, but due to traffic we were going to be a little bit late. We called and let the staff know and it was no biggie. Parking is a bit confusing since it's near a very busy road and residential area, so just make sure you're not parking where you can get fined or towed. After some confusion, we parked in the structure (unclear if allowed or not, but subsequently nothing happened. Phew!). The museum is located at the business plaza building and immediately stands out with it's beautiful storefront and the door that looks like it's out of a fairytale. Immediately we were welcomed by Sabrina, who was not only super informative (but in an easy to understand, not overwhelming way), but super friendly and made our visit that much more amazing. She knows the lore, knew the key and critical points to swoop in to enhance the magic (like when we went to ask the wise wizard some questions), and was very accommodating overall. The people really do make the magic. During your visit, you can opt to do the scavenger hunts and answer the riddles for some prizes and it varies in difficulty from easy to hard, but everything is open to interpretation based on YOUR IMAGINATION. It's the Museum of Make Believe for a reason. The attention to detail is immaculate, from the miniatures and dioramas, the foliage on the ceiling to the ground, and even in the water closet, there's so much to see and you can easily spend a long time just taking everything in. I won't include spoilers but I love that there's not just a lot to see, but to experience through sound and even smell! Lots of thought went into this museum and I'm glad it's getting expanded as well! Can't wait to see what the future holds for such a magical place!

It appears that perhaps high commercial appeal is not the objective here but the display of fine art in all its forms is. The art here is not the typical presentation for interior decorators shopping for their clients and trying to match the shading of the painting with the color of the walls and draperies. This year's theme was Gold Coast: Treasures of California which featured different types of artwork from local California artists as well as the many art museums throughout California and some of the famous pieces stored at those museums. I really enjoyed it because I love art museums and seeing some of these art works come to life and learn the history behind them was neat but I also absorbed all of the info. about it. I met up with a friend here who was a Pageant fan. We got here an hour and a half before they opened the amphitheater up and go to see the art exhibits outside. I'd compare it to going to the Hollywood Bowl to hang out and eat and drink outside the gates before you go in to see a show. There was tons of art and artists with their work on display and for sale and outdoor seating with a small stage with some amazing bands playing. The artwork here is not your typical artwork you'd see at an art walk, these artists and their works are for serious and REAL buyers.
