It's a smallish library, but there's a great selection of books, and a good study area with all the reference books to hand. The computer terminals are all internet connected, you just need to get yourself a password. You're only allowed an hour online if there's a queue (and there often is), but hey it's free! The librarians are always friendly and helpful too. The only thing that's missing is Sunday opening and a coffee shop. ;-)

Its quite dull though, could do with cheering up a bit and I think that it could do with a few more books as the range isnt as large as it could be. But on the whole a nice place with friendly staff.

I myself like books on nature and the wild and some of the books i found were to me uterally amazing. They have such a range on all types of books, and they also have the computers which can be handy for doing a bit of work.

Inside i am always suprised as to just how quiet it is. But due to its vast size im sure any sounds just dissipate. Some of the lighting if i remember correctly is very orangy, weird becasue it doesnt actually affect your reading. They also offer computers which you can use for a small aount of money. They also offer rental of some cd's and dvd's too which is a great addtion. If your into books or need to do research this is the place for you!

A lot has changed about the place since then but it's still essentially the same. They have the usual things you'd expect of a library - childrens section, reading chairs etc. New additions to the library include Internet access, the 1881 National Census, photo scanning, word processing, e-mail and colour printing which are all available free of charge. There is a small car park to the rear. It's a lovely little local library which is worth a visit.

It is a shame it is at the old end of town, which does not get as much footfall as the newer part - I am sure more people would use it if it was in a busier location. Loughborough library is probably the second biggest public library in Leicestershire, second only…read moreto the Central lending library in Leicester city centre. It has a good selection of titles for both fiction and non-fiction readers and I would go out on a limb and say they are actually better at getting new titles in than the central lending library. All the usual library services are available, including internet access, newspapers and a very good selection of magazines. I have saved a fortune on subscription costs as the libary stocks most of the magazines I read. They also have a decent sized music and dvd collection that you can rent for a small price, though you will not find as many titles, especially new ones as you would at commercial retailers. The staff are always very helpful and will go out of their way to help you find something if you can't locate it. It also easy to keep track of your loans and renew titles online if you sign up to the internet service they provide, which allows you to do renews online and also reserve titles which are currently on loan, I really like this feature.
