Things didn't get off to the best start. The website said the first visit was free, but when I arrived, I was told I didn't qualify because my driver's license was still tied to Los Angeles. I had just moved to Palm Desert and hadn't updated it yet. I let it go because I was planning to sign up anyway. I joined during a promotion and was told my membership would be $23/month with a one-time $1 enrollment fee. I noticed the contract also mentioned $50, so I asked about it. The employee told me it didn't apply to me because I was signing up under the promotion. Two weeks later, I was charged $73. When I asked about it, I was told it was the annual maintenance fee. So there are actually are three different charges: the monthly fee, the annual fee, and the enrollment fee. I wasn't upset about the fee itself - I was disappointed because it hadn't been explained correctly. I continued going mainly to the Palm Desert location for the next two years. The biggest issue is how crowded it gets. Finding parking is almost always difficult, especially in the morning and during the day, and you'll probably end up waiting for several machines. Another downside is that equipment breaks fairly often, and some machines stay out of service for weeks or even months before they're repaired. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due. The staff has always been friendly and welcoming, and they've recently added new equipment, which is nice to see. More recently, my membership went from $23 to $25 per month. It's not not a huge increase, but it was disappointing because I was originally told my promotional rate would stay the same. In the end, the biggest reason I'm leaving is simply that it's become too crowded for me to get a good workout during the hours I can go. One more thing to be aware of: when you cancel, you'll still be charged for one more month because they require 30 days' notice. I wish that had been made clearer from the beginning. I'm grateful to the staff and appreciate the past two years, but it's time for me to find a gym that better fits my schedule and needs.

I called Friday, and was told that the open gym hours for Saturday are from 2-6 PM. I called Saturday and was told that the open gym actually closes at 2:00 PM. The inconsistency of the info made it difficult to plan for a friends bachelor party weekend. If anyone is planning to play here, I'd encourage asking for utmost clarity and calling each day for certainty.

"The District" definitely does not have the polish of some of the area gyms, but it does have…read morepretty much everything you could want to enhance your level of fitness: resistance machines, running track, basketball, racquetball, fitness classes, etc. They even have a competitive gymnastics team for kids. If you live in Indio, Palm Desert (where they have another location), or Rancho Mirage, the rates are ridiculously cheap. If you're tired of the scene at 24-Hour Fitness and/or Gold's, check this place out -- not only will you get a lot more, you'll get a lot more for your money.

This gym is more low-key given the location, so it is never crowded and always has machines available. Most of the time I've been there, I only see maybe 2 to 3 people at most. Has plenty of bathrooms and showers and many weights to lift. It also has lockers you can use with keys so you can lock up your stuff, which is great. Usually after driving from Arizona to Los Angeles, I pass by here. I change; I even shower and tidy up after a gym session to go home smelling fresh. Honestly love this location; wish we had more like this.

The staff are all very friendly and treat the dance students and their parents as family. I have gone a few times to observe their class and must say those instructors are very patient with the students and treat them with great respect. Parking was easy, right in front of the studio and the owner was at the desk to greet us and take us back to the aerial studio, behind the dance studio at the front. The owner was extremely accommodating, asking my daughter which apparatus she wanted and at what height. She started on silks, but was also able to practice on hammock and lyra. He even allowed her to play music for an upcoming performance so she could rehearse. The other people at the Open Gym were very supportive-it feels like a great community. If we are ever back in the area and looking for gym time, we won't look anywhere else. Highly recommend!

We have driven by the Art Flying Aerial studio on Country Club Road for a while and as our…read moregranddaughter is a dedicated 8 1/2 year old gymnast, I thought that a gift of a class or a summer camp may appeal to her. The owners are very helpful and accommodating. We visited and got the schedule and our girl came back to the next scheduled class for children between 7-12 years of age. We got to register on site for the class with the owner, Manuel. Parents are able to observe the instruction in a great room with fabrics and silks and mirrors for the class. The very enthusiastic instructor was so warm and encouraging to the children. An hour of instruction with fun music brought the students to a level that they could demonstrate new skills of grasping the fabric, anchoring themselves into basic and then more intermediate positions, all the while getting individual redirection and praise from the instructor. They performed their new abilities and received applause from the gallery. Ruby, one of the family and an instructor, explained that there are adult clients who visit to have restorative stretching and exercise to soothe them after injuries. The attached photos indicate their services. They have a second branch in Palm Springs on Lawrence Crossley, south of the airport and Ramon Road. The prices seem reasonable. We will take our granddaughter again this week. $35. for an hour's instruction. I was so happy to be able to provide her with a birthday gift in an entirely new activity, and she was enthusiastic from the get-go. SO MUCH FUN!!! I was…read morein the area for my bachelorette and we wanted to do something fun and active. THIS WAS IT!!! Most of us had no prior experience and none was necessary! It was an amazingly fun time! We booked a private class on a Sunday morning (the weekend Hurricane Hilary was in town). We appreciate the staff so much because of how accommodating they were and we were able to customize our class time a bit. We had the entire studio to ourselves and Yolanda was our instructor. Both she and the man who greeted us were so nice! Yolanda had the best customer service. She really catered to us and took her time with us. They both went above and beyond to make us feel special! They even took us to the other room to take pictures and try out moves on the spinning aerial silks. A quality experience! Yolanda started us up with a cardio warm-up that was SO GOOD. We were all sweating and our heart rates were up. We used hula hoops and yoga blocks and it was so much fun. She kicked out booties! Then she taught us some moves on the non-spinning aerial silks. As we became more comfortable, she strung the moves together and had us perform it to music. She was a great instructor and we had so much fun! Afterwards, Yolanda and her coworker were so nice to us and let us take a BAJILLION photos everywhere. They even gave us recommendations on good places to eat. We had a fabulous time and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a new, fun experience!

Leyla goes above and beyond for her clients--she's knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely cares about your progress. She pushes you in the best way possible while still making every workout enjoyable and tailored to you. The gym itself has a great atmosphere, and the owner, Joe, is very friendly and a genuinely nice person, which makes a big difference. Power of Fitness is a great gym, but what really makes it stand out is having a trainer like Leyla. They are truly lucky to have her on their team. If you're thinking about getting a trainer, I highly recommend working with Leyla--you won't regret it.
