This bus was an easy way to get TO the Meadowlands from NYC. Coming back after a major event? Not so much. On the way to the event, there were many different buses, and the line was not bad. We got onto a bus pretty quickly, and things seemed organized. The bus drops you off right in the parking lot, so it was convenient and straightforward. 4 stars! Coming back was the harder part. While many buses were waiting in the stadium parking lot after the concert, the method they used (was there one?) to load the buses moved at a glacial pace. A huge line was waiting to board while buses sat empty... 1 star. read more

Bus is late every single morning, first bus runs way too late (6:20) and we are always losing the consistent drivers for someone new and then you never see the guy who got you there on time again. This is absolutely the worst bus via my experience and everyone I have talked to. Take NJ Transit if you can, or be ready to be late every day going to work and coming home. read more

Have been a loyal customer for years to travel between Grand Central and the Newark Airport, until now. I booked a ride to catch a flight out of Newark and multiple buses going to the airport were canceled without ANY form of notification from Coach USA. I only found out that consecutive buses going to the airport were canceled upon calling a Coach USA rep. This essentially left all Coach USA customers trying to catch flights with no option other than taking an Uber or cab during peak NYC traffic hours. The response I received from Coach USA after this disaster was: "Currently, Coach USA does not have a system to notify passengers of cancellations via email or SMS." When I ride other bus providers like Grayhound, I'm promptly notified of delays by text, LET ALONE CANCELED RIDES. Be very wary of booking Coach USA when trying to make flights. read more

What is going on with this transportation company that in the 21st Century their buses are not equipped with USB outlets? I found myself on this bus going to Baltimore, Maryland with some friends. I'm using the power I have left to write this review. I want to let people know that Coach USA buses are ill equipped. The bus looks modern but it's not well equipped. There's one dock in the back but it's not working. Wtf. These are the things I won't be able to do while sojourn on this jitney: text my bae, my daughter, my ex-husband or check the news. I don't feel comfortable using my phone completely because I'm using battery power. I just started this trip and I have less than 50%. I'm hoping I will be able to charge my phone once I get to my destination without too much hassle. As far as my journey back to NYC I need to have a charged phone so I can stay in contact with the person who's picking me up to take me home. This is some wack s***. It's a good thing I never leave home without a ban item. A book! Somebody tell Coach USA we're not going back to the 20th Century. Use some of that Covid money the government gave out and upgrade your buses. I can't recommend this company. Thank God, I brought a banned item with me. A book. I have been a loyal customer for decades commuting to NY from Montvale NJ. I have slowly been using the paper tickets I bought pre-COVID and during COVID as my commuting recently became more frequent. On October 24 the bus driver refused to accept paper tickets. I contacted the customer service who refused to exchange or refund the paper tickets and finally told me that the 3 month window to exchange the tickets was closed. However, they did not tell me when that mysterious window occurred and nobody informed me of it in the first place. The bus drivers accepted paper tickets while some passengers had digital ones. I have 195 paper tickets left well in excess of $1500. What a way to scam a customer! read more

I wish I could give Zero star on this company. Lately, there are many cancellations on the route I take. This is a commuter bus. People use bus on a regular basis everyday. What is the reason for those frequent cancellations? My route this week had 3 cancellations a week. If the service is so unreliable, how can I come home or go to work?? This company has ridiculously unreliable service. Yet, no improvement in their infrastructure. No app, GPS. They don't even have bus ticket vending machines at Port Authority. Horrible experience with Coach USA, 351 Meadowlands Bus. After the Beyonce concert in July, our group went straight to the area where buses were picking up. On the bus webpage, it said that buses would be picking up for an hour after concerts end. Arriving at the pickup area, we joined a line of ~500 people. The line was moving incredibly slow - we waited overall for almost 3 hours - and very few buses were coming. When we got towards the front of the line, we learned the problem. There was only 1 person checking tickets to board all buses. This person did not know how to use the electronic ticket scanner, so he was allowing anyone with a paper ticket (ie purchased in person at Port Authority rather than online) to cut the line and board buses, while those with electronic tickets had to wait. Furthermore, there were just not enough buses for the number o people. And there was no one there to explain what was going on. I've tried to call and left voicemails three times hoping for a refund for this trip, but have received no return calls. I will never use Coach USA again and advise you not to either! read more

The bus used to be a decent way for me to get home from football games at the meadowlands at a reasonable cost. I usually take a car service to the stadium to get there early for tailgates and public transit home. The ticket price for one way purchased on the bus at the stadium was 7 dollars as of a couple weeks ago and is now 14. At that price, I can't recommend the service because you'll wait forever in line just to get on the bus, sit in traffic, and pay up vs the train. Drivers are generally courteous and safe so that's a bonus. read more

Apparently Coach USA leases buses from NJ Transit so this review is regarding that. Twice a week I need to get to Montclair. The only way for me to get there is to take a bus to Clifton, NJ to catch a transfer bus, specifically the 705. THREE TIMES in the past 2 weeks this bus has not only been late, IT NEVER SHOWED even a half hour after its scheduled time. Even more than that I called NJT and was deferred to Coach. Upon calling them I was told that I "didn't call at a good time". Excuse me??? Further, when I called this afternoon to check the time of the 705 I was put on hold for10 minutes. What kind of service is this!?! Coach USA clearly does not care about the customers they're serving under the guise of NJT. read more

This review is for the Coach USA 351 Meadowlands Express service. To everyone going to the IZOD Center from NYC, DO NOT RELY ON THIS BUS SERVICE. At first glance, it looks great. Round-trip from Port Authority to IZOD for $10? Express, no transfers? Perfect! Not so. Whatever genius scheduled this service only coughed up five buses. That's right, FIVE. For an out-of-state concert with tens of thousands of attendees. The line in Port took HOURS to get through. I'm sure some people missed half the show. They packed the buses to standing-room-only. And on the way back, oh my God. After we had been waiting for over an hour in the parking lot and barely moved through the line, Coach USA employees actually came through and yelled at everyone to take another company's shuttle bus to Secaucus and then the light rail back to NYC because, in one employee's words, "I promise you, you're going to get home a hell of a lot faster than if you wait here." I can't imagine what time the people who opted to stick it out got home. People going to the IZOD Center from the city: take the train/shuttle combo. Rent a car. Split a cab. Parachute in from a plane. Do whatever it takes to get there- just don't rely on Coach USA. You have been warned. read more

Unfortunately this is what I take when traveling to Rockland and 9 out of 10 times they are always late! I sometimes have had buses that haven't even showed up with no notice. For some reason if you're catching the bus in Rockland to Manhattan it's great service, BUT leaving from Port Authority, hey you take the chance. Commuters have it all wrong about Coach USA rt 45. some reason they expect the bus to arrive and depart close to its published schedule, in a clean bus where seats are not broken and reading lights work, where the drivers are not surly, ( and occasionally don't know the route)and the dispatchers don't hide from the commuters and management doesn't respond or care, whose answer Is always s driver shortage. Once you accept that is the norm for this company There are no issues. I have ridden this bus for 10 years. This year service has hit an all time low and doesn't appear management is even attempting to correct the numerous deficiencies, they are to busy working ion the next rate increase to improve service. as far as a rating it is negative 2 stars. We drove around the area and finally found a gate to enter. Asked for directions 3 times before finding the bus loading area. Employees at the stop explained the driver's incompetence because it was his first day. Apparently the company doesn't provide directions to their drivers. When we left the stadium they quickly ran out of buses. We had to wait an hour to board. Employees at the stop were confrontational and unhelpful. Blaming the delay on traffic. Also, suggested it was my fault I did not navigate for the driver on the way to the game. Mind bogglingly bad service! TAKE THE TRAIN! read more

This bus company is horrible. The 702 rarely shows up anymore. On weekends it seems to be the worst. I will not buy a bus pass because I get stuck regularly. I have to find alternative modes of transportation. I have waited repeatedly on consecutive weekends for hours for the 702 mostly in Passaic Park, Passaic NJ and on Valley Road in Clifton NJ. The weather was good with hardly any traffic @ times so what are the excuses? I have attempted to contact New Jersey Transit and NJ Transit doesn't take full responsibility for this bus or bus company because NJ Transit only leases the 702. So it is a part time bus. My complaints seem to be ignored. I emailed and called Community Coach. My emails were never responded to and my calls put on hold. I get the runaround with Community Coach and no positive results. It makes me wonder who is running Community Coach And why they can not hire reliable drivers. Many of the drivers are constantly on the cell phone and missing stops. I have had enough buses pass me up and go past the bus stop I ring for. Often the driver is on the cell phone when this happens. The buses are often close to half an hour late. The passengers have places to go. How do the drivers go to work whenever they feel like it and start out so late? The drivers seem to make their own schedules and skip routes. Why can't Community Coach update bus schedules and notify the public if their buses changed schedule times and only run a few times a day? Calling the bus ID number on the bus stop sign gets me about 20 minutes of advertising and recommending bus passes than another final message that was the final bus update message that never actually gave me the bus time yet. It is insanity, sometimes the weather is bad and these ads go on for awhile without giving me the information I texted for. I waste my time and minutes and stopped calling the bus company through this option. Why can't the bus company simplify things and put up an LED board like @ train stations so passengers know when the buses will not be showing or when due? I have health problems. They have the most dangerous inconsiderate drivers. They change lanes and cut cars off, usually without directional signals. They drive on the right shoulder passing cars and trucks. This review is for 351 MEADOWLANDS EXPRESS. I wish I had read the reviews here...it would have spared me a nightmare after one of the best concerts of my life. Went to Metlife Stadium yesterday for a concert. It was my first time, I live in LIC, so I was weighing the travel options and this was the best on paper: 3 subway stops from home, then direct bus to the stadium. And for 12$ roundtrip, not bad. The way to GO to the stadium deserved at least a 4-stars: arrived at 5.30 pm at Port Authority (event starting 7 pm), bought tickets at the gate, the flow of people was constant and yet well managed. I was waiting for friends, for not more than 10 minutes, and I had to step out of the line twice because it was reaching the gate too fast. Good start, right ?? Then the trip took at most the expected 20 minutes to get to the stadium, quick and efficient. Such a good way to start an amazing night ! Alas, when the amazing night finished, the situation turned into a catastrophe. HUGE line formed to get in the buses back to Manhattan, and this time, it did NOT move fast. Actually, it did not move AT ALL for 30 minutes. Total wait ? 2h15, which is exactly the duration of the main band performance during the concert. WTF ??? Needless to say, on a Sunday night, you're not thrilled when you arrive home at 3 am (for a total duration of 30 minutes for the whole trip). YAY, Monday off to a good start... I am still speechless at how unefficient this was. Probably 4000 people lined for the bus, and there were only NINE buses doing roundtrips to Port Authority. How is it possible, after probably years of practice, to have such a poor organization??? This is insane. Plus, the EXACT same concert happened the night before, apparently with the same mess according to the stadium staff. Seriously ?? My only explanation ? they don't give a sh*t about us. And by us, it's not only the line, but the stadium people who had to stay with us until the end (and they were really cool with us, considering we were all mad and tired). The ballet of taxis was both sad and funny....prices decreasing as the line was shortening....started from a 90$ Uber estimate, to 20$ per person in taxis, and the lowest at 10$....right before the last round of buses showed up, and hopefully, took all the people left back to their homes. Some of them standing in the middle of the buses. Here's to your 6 bucks... I will never, ever, take the bus back again. Maybe on the way to....but do I really want to give them any money again ? not sure. The saddest part, is that I'm sure the train was a better option, in the end. But when you don't know it will be that bad, and also, you've already bought the roundtrip ticket....you lose. Imagine this....you're visiting NY, you decide to go to Bethel Woods to see a concert and check out the Woodstock museum. Easy enough, there's a link on the Web site to pay for a round trip ticket. Although they clearly state on their Web site "The bus doesn't leave until the concert ends" seems that should add the caveat - "when it's convenient." Without going through the whole story suffice it to say they left me stranded there because I guess it was inconvenient to wait until the end of the concert. I had to pay over $200 and wait 2 hours for a car service back to Manhattan. The response from the company was a big "not our problem" tough luck.... read more

This is the worst organizational effort I have seen. Post Giant game 1,000's in line. No excuse. No systems. Silly and incompetent. One of the worst companies I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The drivers are unsafe and aggressive. You're lucky if they're 10 minutes late. They're at the most inconvenient spot in Port Authority. The drivers are rude. The buses break down and have broken seats throughout. The buses almost never get cleaned. Fare increases happen multiple times in a year and quality never improves. This is years and years we're talking about. You're almost better off walking. They are just awful. Everyone working there should just give up because they've failed so severely at life. Competent management should take over and fire every last one of them. read more

This star system is inaccurate, I wanted to put ZERO stars but it would not let me. The bus is filthy, the customer service is terrible and tickets are overpriced and always increasing. I wish there was another bus company around because I would never use this bus company again? Restrooms in the bus also filthy, why would carry moist towelettes if they are not even moist.
