This company is really bad. I wouldn't trust putting kids on the bus. They speed and not safe!!

The staff members I interacted with at this bus company have been extremely rude, insensitive, and disrespectful throughout my experience. Their behavior toward me and my special-needs child has been unacceptable and unprofessional. Because of the repeated mistreatment, negligence, and lack of proper communication, I am currently pursuing legal action against the company. For parents considering transportation services, I strongly recommend choosing another company. Based on my experience, I do not feel this company provides a safe or supportive environment for children--especially children with special needs. read more

Leckie Bus Company has been taking care of my community since before I was even born. I remember being picked up as a kid and my driver greeting me with a smile and high-five. Today I still see their buses driving around, operating safely, and just wanted to say their phenomenal team deserves praise and recognition for their commitment to our community and the families they serve. read more

Obviously The worst . 2 years of late pickups and drivers who don't even speak English to relay how your child did on the ride . I call and call and it's busy in The morning can't even reach anyone and then they always tell you. When you get someone "oh they are 5min away" and you wait another 20 mins .. This company does not have bus aides that are trained to handle children. Least of all special needs children. My child is an autistic boy who has to use this bus company to and from school everyday. In recent weeks we have had a serious issue with one aide in particular. She screams and scolds the children on the bus saying things to them to purposely antagonize, intimidate and torment the young children. I witnessed her telling my son that he should shut his mouth because she was going to write him up and throw him off the bus. I asked her if she had spoken to the administrators at his school (fully knowing that the administrators had addressed this several times) and her response to me was "I don't do all-a dat." Then she walked back over to my son and said rude things to him under her breath so I couldn't hear her. For weeks I had wondered why he kept telling me that he was going to get thrown off the bus. This has not only caused disruptive behavior on the bus by the other children but now my son has anxiety and thinks about going on her bus all night. Last night he woke up four times to ask if he was going to be ok on the bus. I was expecting for the dispatchers to make it a point of firing her for this behavior or at the very least, change buses. Nope! Same aide came along today but I refused to send my boy. So instead of getting to pick on him today she decided to talk down to a younger child who can't communicate. This is disgusting behavior and I find it shocking that even after MULTIPLE complaints from both parents and school staff this company chooses to not make any changes and allow her to continue humiliate and belittle children. ***UPDATE I wanted to write to update my review. Changes were made. I've called and spoken to Virgin & Isabel they have been nothing but helpful, respectful and nice. Our normal driver William is ALWAYS amazing. Regardless of the day he always has a smile and greets us well. The new aide that you sent today named Dinirda (not sure of the spelling of her name) received my son, said hello to him and my husband and she made sure that he was safely secured WITHOUT having to be reminded. I wish that all parents could have that experience with your workers. People like those two make all of the difference. read more

My son has been using this company for 2 years now and I have had good and bad experiences, the good ones have come from the drivers and aids the bad ones from the late pick ups but its understandable that they sometimes are late since trafic, weather and some people not taking their kids promptly to the bus. That said my lates pick up aid and driver are great Mr Rafael Dubon Ferufino and Zoila Tenezaca. read more

Today at 7:40 am at intersection of Molnar Drive and Molar Boulevard a horn was honking non stop behind me. Mind you, I was at a traffic light and could not turn. When I looked to see the vehicle, it was a school bus. When I was able to turned left, I notice that this bus was right behind me. I pulled over and let this bus go. I notice that it sped away at 25 mph roadway way above the speed limit. I was able to get the name of the bus but not the license plate. The bus is owned by John Leckie, Inc. The bus was heading in the direction I was going. I was fortunate enough to get the license plate# S2-T948. We where both heading on route 46 east. I notice that this bus was speeding so fast. Thank God there were no children on this bus. When I arrived at my destination, I called John Leckie, Inc. at 7:55 am. I spoke with a person on the phone and asked for the supervisor. She informed me that she was the supervisor. I told her the information and she informed me she will take care of it and give it to the other supervisor. When I called back at 2pm to see if the supervisor got this information, I had found out this supervisor did not get this information. So for all you parents please make sure your child is not on a John Leckie School Bus. read more

September 2018, first day of at Hackensack High School, bus shows up 25 min. late. Second and third day bus does not show up at all! Called the people at Hackensack High School who are responsible, they were nice but no dice. They said sorry, but every year for the first few days this happens. Called the bus company, they gave us the run around, put us on hold for 20 min., hung up the phone on us and in the end when you call and someone picks up and and you try to talk to them, they say, let us be honest with you, bus will not be coming today...soooo, yeah. Than when you lose you temper they say hey lower your voice or I will be forced to hang up, yet we are at work and my kids are stuck out there with no ride to school. They are rude, unprofessional and don't give a damn if they lose the contract or not. Tough luck! WORST Service, worst people and if you get them, be aware and make sure you drive your kids to school. Drivers don't speak English, don't know the roads. ITS A MESS!!!! We hired the Leckie Bus company to take us safely to and home from a party at The Art Factory in Paterson. Tim was a pleasure to deal with from beginning to end. Our Driver, Milan, was such a skilled driver, maneuvering through the crowded streets, dropping us right at the front door. We called him when it was time to leave and he was waiting for us by the time we got to the door. It was a great experience. read more

Ever since this company started to work for my son's school, they never paid any attention to the seatelts for children. I saw not a single children fastened seatbelsts every day. Apparently neither bus driver nor aides paid any attention to this serious problem. When I mentioned the issue, they first ignored my statement, and then they started to yell the pupils that "everybody, fasten the seat belt!!" Most of the kids on this bus are in the special education class and some of them don't understand the verbal instruction. The bus aide didn't help them fasten seat belt until I told him to do so. This is clearly a violation of New Jersey State law (P.L.1992, c.92). The law stipulates that all New Jersey school buses must have seatbelts, and students are required to wear them. I talked with my friend in other school and learned that John Leckie is very notorious in the facebook community of school bus in NJ. I truly hope the board of education will make right decision to change the bus company immediately. Also, I found it interesting that two people based in San Francisco posted very positive views to this company on the same day. What a coincidence! read more
