This restaurant is a chain and this location is in Terminal 1 of Frankfurt Airport. I have been to a Coa location before. I feel like the menu here was limited, which makes sense for the airport location. I wanted a cool drink and the waiter helped me select the maracuja juice. It was quite sweet and water down. Like concentrated in some sips and water down in the others. The tom kha gai soup was very hot, both in temperature and spice. I should have picked out the red chilies sooner but by the time I realized it, it may have been too late. I picked them out and put them on the plate, but the soup was still quite spicy, even when it cooled off. They were generous with mushrooms so I was fine. The gyoza was nothing special. The yellow curry satisfied a craving for Asian food. It was also filled with mushrooms (and other vegetables). The server was friendly and helpful. It was very hot in the restaurant and the sun coming in through the window didn't help. I think someone asked about it and they said there's nothing they could do. This restaurant does the job if you need something substantial between flights (with some time) as I did. read more

The food was ok - after all it is a German airport and I ordered spring rolls (Vietnamese) and Szechuan beef (Chinese). The service was friendly and fast. As soon as I ordered my food, it was out moments later and it tasted fresh; not pre-cooked. The food had a good flavor, however I could have used a bit more beef in my Szechuan dish and less cashews and bell peppers. Coa is my favorite airport restaurant in the world. It is trying to move away from classical bad-food-bistro-cafe type of place often found in airports, by offering better ambiance and good themed food. Dishes from most Asian cuisines are found here: Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Thai and Vietnamese. A bit on the pricy side yes, but that is what to expect in an airport. The dish I most often eat here is their Vietnamese Pho Bo mini soup bowl which is delicious and makes me just full enough. The Mango Chicken salad is also good but perhaps on the salty side. If you like your food spicy, just tell your server and they will 'turn up the heat' in your dish. Sometimes service gets a little slow (they seem understaffed) but it is always friendly and correct. You will find this place in Terminal 1 of Frankfurt International Airport (Lufthansa flies from here), Gate A, floor 2. In summary, Coa is a great spot if you are hungry and need to kill some time at Frankfurt Airport or if you landed starving from a non-service flight. read more

Really not good. Our order took a while to arrive (20 mins plus for a noodle dish) and when it did, the food was cold. After some angry glances at us from the chef, our slightly warmer food came back and tasted pretty bland. Not much else to say. I came here for a latte and breakfast before my next flight. The service is fast and efficient but not very friendly. The latte was delicious and would come back for that. There weren't a lot of 'breakfast' choices...just a few dim sum dishes. I had the pho bo which had good flavors and good overall quality but the soup was missing more vegetables and meat. The soup was mostly noodles which was a little disappointing. I wouldn't get this again especially if you aren't looking to get full on noodles. We came here after a ten hour flight from San Francisco, desperatly hungry and trying to kill our six hour layover. First of all, the food was quite pricy, and the portions quite small. I ordered two different types og dim sum, one with shrimp and one with chicken. My shrimp dim sum arrived at the same time as everyone elses orders. It was a bit soggy and plain, but i was too hungry to care. I kept waiting for my second dim sum, but they never arrived. Finally we had to remind them, and they brought me another serving of the same shrimp dim sum! I was too tried to complain, as I had been awake for 24 hours, but I will not come back. Nive thai-salads, about 4-5 choices, including some without noodles if you are going for a low carb diet. Both the chicken-mango and the papaya-beef varieties are nice. However, dressing is to the plenty and sweet side. Large seating area around the corner with a view to the planes, so don't be discouraged if it looks full. Music is appropriately low for talks, but may be disturbing for working. read more

Had some very good meals at COA before (coming from the front kitchen) but on the 3 September it was just horrible (coming from their back kitchen). Chicken sate was burned, tasted bitter and sour. (Never even realized it was possible to make bitter and sour tasting chicken sate) The Thai beef salad was basically 'atjar' (an Indonesian sour cucumber and carrot that you would expects as a side dish to rice and not as your main salad) with small cold chewy pieces of beef in it. Probably prepared earlier that day or perhaps the day before. For a moment I even thought they put minced meat in it. We took a few bites and send the rest back after telling them how horrible it tasted. They apologized and offered to replace it but we just lost our appetite and did not trust them to recover from something that was so fundamentally wrong to start with. They made us pay for the meal anyway regardless of the fact that we hardly ate any of it and we were not offered a refund as I would have expected. I did not complaint about the refund and just decided never to go back there. I will advise my colleagues and anyone who reads this review to do the same. read more
