We have shopped happily at this store for quite a few years, but from Nov 12th 2018, when the new parking rules start we will have to go elsewhere. 90 minutes maximum for a full weeks shopping, spending maybe £90/£100 each time is not conducive to a happy experience under such a limit....certainly no time to use the restaurant for a coffee break. The changes we are told is because people are using the car park who are not shopping in the store....so Waitrose are penalizing its regular weekly shoppers who cannot conform to a 90 minute limit.....don't you want our £90/£100 per week....you need to rethink such a silly idea.

Firstly, it's small and very limiting. Secondly, there's no natural light at all. I know this isn't a feature of many supermarkets but it's buried under a multi-storey car park and it's very dark down there. Thirdly, Sainsbury's as a whole isn't what it once was and coupled with the poor store, it makes it a really rubbish experience to shop there.

This is precisely what I use this Sainsburys for as I usually order my groceries online. However, this is a big enough grocery shop to do ones' weekly shop in, which I have done occasionally. There is generally a decent selection of goods in this large store and it's also perfect for stopping in later at night on the way home from a meal in Bromley to pick up that spare bottle of wine or that extra pint of ice cream!

There are often discounted rails too which are sometimes large discounts, mainly 30%. It also has a good selection of pre-school toys, sometimes with offers, but is useful for presents that can be easily picked up when doing the regular shop. It has a huge selection of all the usual grocery items, although this is not the cheapest of supermarkets. Buses to and from this supermarket are frequent and cover the local area well, although are very busy at school times.

DISRUPTION AND APATHY AT PENGE…read more Sainsbury's Penge is undergoing a lot of annoying and apparently counterproductive disruption to accommodate an "Argos" facility. The food range is considerably reduced, and what's left has been scattered to apparently random locations. This afternoon I twice had to interrupt a very long conversation between a staff member and another "customer" (romantic interest?) to find out where things had moved to. His grudging and curt respones suggested that he'd been diverted from a more interesting matter than customer service.

It's not that small, but doesn't seem to stock anything much more than the basics. What really gets…read moreme is that the aisles are laid out in a really odd pattern, so it's easy to miss one, or if you go round in what seems to be the logical order, you tend to go from veg to cat food to cold meat to shampoo to cheese to loo roll to bread. Ok so if you've been to one Aldi you've been to them all…read more They have used the space well to accommodate the Aldi style of selling. The Isles area stocked with the usual Aldi goods. The German and other country versions of the well recognised brands you find I the more expensive supermarkets. The pluses for this shop is the location just up the road from the train station, so whether going to work, well actually not going to work as they don't open until 8am, or coming home from work it is a good location to grab those last minute items, from eggs to flowers and not forgetting that bottle of wine!! The bit which has disappointed me is the fact that they have hung a sign from the ceiling. The sign states that if you are cuing beyond a certain point they will open another till. Not true as I and many other were cuing beyond that point and no more tills were opened!! So Aldi unless you can actually back up that claim, which Tesco used some years back and then binned it as unless you have unlimited staff knocking around doing nothing I doubt you can actually achieve it, do not make that claim!!

This place opened quite recently, and in the overall impression, it still looks good, in spite of the little lack of organisation in the aisles. The trolleys are found in the entrance by the car park, in case you come walking, you will have to go all the way to the back. Gets messy towards the end of the day, always with only a few lines available, they tend to get long. But the cashiers are lightning-fast! And they are mostly friendly. They charge for the bags, but they are super sturdy. And the options available are really good, never found something looking bad or not fresh, as they claim to be.
