It's sometimes hard to cough up the extra cash for tickets to experience landmarks such as this, but I must say it's worth it to at least go once. The view from the top is breathtaking and it really proves the vastness of Toronto. Apparently the CN Tower is the home of the highest wine cellar, which is kind of cool. And if you're really feeling fancy, they offer a unique dining experience at the top. My favorite view of the tower was actually from Toronto Island, so definitely go there to get an amazing shot of the city. But in all honesty, if you've never gone up in the tower, be a tourist for a day and make it happen. :) read more

I was really looking forward to going into the tower because it a tourist attraction and I been in the space needle in Seattle but I must say I was a little disappointed, the deck was looked so could even go out and a see the city view from outside. I did make reservations at the 360 restaurant because it's offered rotating views which was very appealing to me. It's very upscale in there, the food is very expensive, I don't know if I would say it was worth the price but I mean (when in Rome) I had give it a try. I wasn't disappointed in my food it was good but not necessarily pricey good. I never have a problem paying high price when the foOd worth it and the service is worth it. However our waiter wasn't very atTentive he was so worried about the table next to us then us. We had to ask for refills. He took my spouses soda class to refill and it never madE back to the table. I can say I was very disappointed in the service I received there. (FYI the restaurant wasn't very packed-my server had 2 other tables and it was a Monday night there was no reason for him to constantly forget about us. I know being a server can be overwhelming, I use to be one so I am very fair understanding.) My chicken dinner was good noothing to brag about but my ceaser salad was the best part I think of my whole meal. Probably the best salad I ever had. I order sweet potatoes fries for my baby to munch on he loved those, they came with a lemon dip that was very I interesting, but it paired well. So no complaints there. I did order a house drink called the woo woo it came in a souvenir glass(costing $20) but drink was made perfectly with rum and vodka. I don't knOw if I would recommend eating there, but they do have a bar on levEl down where you can drink and enjoy the saME views. The stars are and overall rating with the service I received in the restaurant. The host at the door when entering the restaurant where more attentive and friendly then my server. I say maybe give the 360 restaurant a try and let me know what you think. -on another note the restaurant was very clean organized and beautiful. read more

CN Tower - Landmarks & Historical Buildings Near Me - Toronto, Ontario

I've been to the CN Tower a couple of times. It's really cool to see the city from so high up, and makes for a great date spot if you hit up the revolving restaurant (completes a round slowly in over an hours, so no need to worry about getting motion sick!) Aside from the restaurant, there are a few other observation points which can be accessed by elevator, depending which height you want to check things out from. Be prepared: you have to clear security (metal detectors and bag checks) even before purchasing your tickets, and you can expect to wait in line as it is always a popular spot to visit. If you're in Toronto for the first time and looking for something touristy to do or new to see, definitely stop by. There are often ticket combinations you can include this with- I used one that included Ripley's Aquarium nextdoor. It was worth the package! read more

Overhyped and totally a tourist trap. The tower is great to look at, but the inside wasn't so great in my opinion. Yes, you get a good view of Toronto if you taking pics of from the glass windows, but if you were to get a picture from outside the glass windows it's all gated and fenced. Can't really get a good view of it. The glass floor is a joke, I don't know why people were so amazed by it. Too many people in the tower just trying to ruin my pictures without apologizing or knowing whats going on. I think it's a waste of money in my opinion. read more

This was on many "to-do" lists for Toronto but not sure that the cost is worth the experience. If you are buying tickets for the CN Tower packaged with the city pass or with the aquarium, I guess it's ok. The whole experience is really just the viewing area which is super crowded and you have to wait between many many people to take photos. Also the slightly lower level viewing is under construction so there's literally just the main viewing platform you get for the base fare. Whole experience was perhaps 20 minutes. I'd say go if you are really dying to see the city views but if you've been up any other super tall building it's all kind of the same. read more

Just your typical observatory tower, very similar to say the Stratosphere in Las Vegas or the Space Needle in Seattle. Dope views tho but $70 for two people?! Nah fam I can buy a week's worth of groceries with that dough! No regrets tho, moments are all we got. Memories man. I went on a cloudy day, -1 degrees Fahrenheit so I suggest choosing sunnier days to go up there. read more

We went here on the first weekend of June, but the wait time was not long at all to the to the top. There was a Blue Jay's game happening at the same time (Rogers Centre & Ripley's Aquarium are on same block), so perhaps that made prevented a lot of people from coming to this attraction at the time we visited. The view is really cool, especially since we were able to see the baseball game from where we were up above. The dome was open and we could see the fans in their seats and the baseball players on the field. Pretty cool. We were excited to go to the glass floor part of the tower. This part was rather disappointing. There's not a lot of space on the floor covered by glass, so you kind of have to fight your way through to take photos or wait forever until you're lucky enough to get a spot. A bit disorganized, I'd say. They should have a line for this to make it more enjoyable and less stressful and competitive. The line for the elevator down took longer than the line for the elevator going up. It takes you directly into the gift shop. It was our first visit to Toronto, so we had the City Pass. It was definitely worth it to do the CN Tower, Casa Loma, the ROM, Ripley's Aquarium (right next door to the CN Tower) and the Ontario Science Centre with this pass. read more

Overrated and not much to see or do once you are at the observatory area. The line to get up there is ridiculous and to dine in was not available. read more

What can I say about CN tower that you don't know already? If you have not gone there already...go and be brave and do the Edge Walk.

Hasn't really changed much.. it's the city's landmark and a definite tourist destination for first time Toronto visitors. Just check the weather so you can be sure to see everything! They get quite a number of school and tour groups so you can always call in and ask for the wait times and what the view is like (clear, foggy, etc) since they have regular updates. There can sometimes be an insane line up to get upstairs and to go back down. I recommend getting there early in the morning or just before sunset so you get the nighttime and daytime view. The night time view on a clear day is gorgeous!! It's not an attraction you really will return to, but once in a lifetime, you should visit. Cross that off your bucket list! read more

This I was really looking forward to this place to celebrate a birthday on my team. I made a reservation for 20 and a few people had conflicts and the reservation ended up being 15. There was a little bit of fuss, however staff accommodated for the change. The service was ok. Staff weren't super engaged with us and weren't too friendly. Hostess was very nice though. The food was good but not great which makes it overpriced. The brussel sprouts were slightly under cooked and tad under-seasoned However, their were a number of dishes that were overseasoned (with pepper mainly). The desert was delicious though. Wine list is 5/5. What keeps this restaurant at 4 stars is the amazing view it has. You really can't beat it. If you dine in the restaurant you also get free access to the levels below it and explore the history/more views of the city/CNTower. I'll return for the view and some touristy stuff but that's it. read more

Don't get me wrong, this is a great landmark. But the price does not justify the experience. Yes it's nice to walk on the glass floor and look down into the abyss. Yes it is nice to enjoy the view of all of Toronto from up there... but honestly, that's all you get for the price of about 40$. Children have a minor discount but must still pay. If I come back, I will wait for everyone downstairs as I don't think the price is fair. Parking will be difficult and you will get a parking ticket if you are not careful. read more

I do this to myself every single time.....I see a tourist attraction and think that I HAVE to do it. That is exactly what happened this time. I blame the City Pass, which made it harder to resist given that it was included as part of that package. The CN Tower is unique in that it is the third tallest tower in the world. It does have some nice features that make it more than just a giant elevator to get to the top. It has a glass floor, which was exciting/terrifying to stand on. You can also walk around the top outside in a harness if you like spending hundreds of dollars on thrills. It has a restaurant at the top, which is pretty expensive. I was disappointed to find out that you have to pay an extra $12 to go to the SkyPod level, which I was unwilling to do. This place is expensive just to do the basic things...you can truly end up spending a lot here, which my husband would classify as the most terrifying part of this attraction. I will say that the views at the top were pretty incredible. I think I would have enjoyed it more if the line wasn't so long. We went on a weekday during the middle of the day (what a mistake) and we waited 90 minutes to get to the top. I did appreciate that the Tower has free wifi and a juggler that performs while waiting in line, but still it was pretty painful. I would recommend going right when they open. We made the mistake of doing the aquarium (which is right next door) first and paid for that mistake dearly. In sum, if you like tall buildings and have cash to spend, you should check it out. read more

Interesting place. 114 floors up very impressive. The glass floor was probably state of the art when it was built. It still is a fantastic view. It was the Canadian 150th weekend so a lot of people. The parking was crazy because the city was so busy. But figured out a parking garage near by was The staff did a good job but was clearly overwhelmed by the huge crowd. What can I say. I stood in the observation deck of the highest building in North America for 36 dollars. read more

Line after line. Spent a long time standing in lines. The view is nice but it's just a view. There is a bar and a restaurant .

You spend a lot of money for a timed entrance yet they let people queue up for any time. No one is asked what their time is and consequently you have people in line ahead if you for a later time. I asked the ticket desk for assistance and they said it wasn't their department! The people with a later time get at the entrance and then their time is checked and are told to get out of the line. Very inefficient and no crowd control. read more

This is the most Canadian thing you can do. It's definitely something to do to cross off the bucket list. The view is OKAY, I've seen better views across the world. The staff are friendly and nice. During the summer weekends it does tend to get very crowded, I've been in wait times for more than an hour at times. But during weekdays or any other times it's usually less than a 10 minute wait time to get to the top. Oh but there's no seating anywhere so make sure you're full of energy and prepared to stand till you get back down. read more

This was my very first stop in Toronto, since it's right next to the UP Express train station. Since it was a sunny day and I had a couple of hours before I could access my lodgings, the CN Tower seemed to fit the bill. You go through security before you can even buy a ticket -- just basic metal detector and a quick bag check. Although the lines weren't long (being a Monday afternoon), it didn't give me much time to puzzle through the various ticket options and find the parts in English. It might just be me, but I have a really hard time understanding people using microphones behind glass windows. Add in being tired and the ticket agent's minor accent, and I wasn't really clear what was going on. They do have a restaurant at the top of the tower, but I couldn't get the ticket agent to really explain things to me, so I ended up with a standard ticket for $42.94 CAD. Then my credit card didn't go through (apparently due to the reader), so I had to stand there and wait while he slowly cancelled the transaction and ran it again. He gave me the voided receipt so I knew I wasn't charged twice, but geez. The tower itself, well, I lived in Chicago so it was the standard setup for these things. You walk through the mandatory exhibit on the tower, get your photo taken, and take an elevator ride. You can stay on the observation deck for as long as you want, and when you come back down, you exit through the gift shop. Since I was pretty tired, I found a couch and just sat for a while. The view is beautiful, especially on a sunny day, and it was a nice place to hang out. You have to go down one level to see the glass floor (eh) and you can also go outside on a heavily fenced balcony, which was pretty windy. There is a small cafe on the main deck, but the food looked like pretty basic stuff. Honestly, while it wasn't a bad way to spend some time, I wouldn't bother making this an actual destination. You can just buy a postcard of the view and call it quits. read more

Why does it cost almost $200 for a family of 4 to go up this? Not worth it period! Do better.

Made a reservation for 2, and in summary: *A reservation doesn't guarantee a table next to the window. *Poor management. *Average food. *Bad service for that expensive food. *No, I wouldn't go back. Details: We didn't get a table next to the window and they had three tables available right in front of me (they had to clean them though). I asked the server if we could change to a table next to the window (that was the entire purpose of going to that restaurant). The server said that I had to go and look for the manager. YES, I HAD to go and look for the manager, not like the manager was coming to my table. After not having positive results (the wait for those tables was 45 minutes), the server tried to explain (like if I were 3 years old) why my table was the best and I must be happy about it. The food is average. Our server was rude. He turned into a bad actituded since I asked to change my table. read more

The worst, this restaurant is a NO GO, watch out and check prices first, I paid 90 CAD for a prime rib smaller than my hand, 45 day aged prime rib and they put it on the grill, it was hard, not even close to what I was expecting, the average per person is 100 dollars, the MOST EXPENSIVE in TORONTO, watch out do not fall for the view, go and pay 45 for the enytrance and go to eat somewhere else, we cam in and were told that had to leave by 7pm(reservation was for 515pm), the waitress was always rushing us, for the drinks, food, all the way even to pay the bill, 5 people 600 dollars bill and the steak HORRIBLE. read more

Want to see a glass floor at the top of the world's 5th largest free standing structure? Hey I'm wearing a dress, would people be staring up at my crotch? Not to worry those people if any are over 1000 feet below. For 32 dollars admission you pretty much are just paying for an 58 second elevator ride to the top, however if you want to go to the very top its 12 bucks more! What else is there to do in Canada? So why not! After seeing the glass floor i wanted my 32 dollars back. They made it sound so thrilling and all it was is a small section of glass that the entire world was trying to stand on and take pictures of. I thought the entire floor would be made of glass. I'm so silly. the section is so small that it made it hard to take a picture and actually capture yourself and the glass floor to the bottom. unless its only a picture of your feet, which look like you're sitting on the ledge and ready to jump. After I realized what I just paid for I was ready to jump. read more

I've been going to TO for most of my adult life and I've quizzed the majority of my family there and no one admits to actually going up to the top of the CN Tower. Pretty odd if you ask me. They're always offering to take me, as if there's magic up there! Yet they all insist they've never been. Even my friends all insist they've never been. One scoffed that's it's just for tourists. This from a guy who has barely lived in TO for three years. Whatever dude, I've got bottles of whiskey older than that. So is the CN Tower really magic? My son pestered my uncle and cousin and dad and everyone else who would listen to take him there. He was a little man on a mission. I had no real interest in going to be honest. I too thought it was an overpriced tourist attraction. I offered to skip it and let my dad take him up. My dad insisted he would only go up with me. Ugh, of course that's what happened. Here's my take on the whole thing: yes, it's really magic. IF you're a small child and you don't see the price attached to it all. He thought it was cool, except for the glass floors in the elevator. That part was not so cool for a kid with autism. He has his quirks. This is why I have no photos of the inside of the CN Tower :-) Pretty sure we gave everyone else that day a magical experience as well.. read more

Filthy bathrooms. For 42 dollars a ticket they can't afford to clean their bathrooms? Every stall on the ground floor and on the observation deck was disgusting, toilets not flushed, etc. Even the handicapped bathroom. As for the view I guess it's a must see but go on a clear day. Windows seemed foggy but it might have been the clouds. Outdoor observation deck is not really worth the time because the whole thing is surrounded by a metal mesh which completely destroys any view. They could do a better job of having exhibits and info or a free audio tour so you can figure out what you're looking at. Nice to see a new perspective. If you're a tourist go here after at least one day in the city so you can have some reference points, you'll enjoy it more that way. Security lines with metal detectors, staff will search and empty your whole bag to the bottom but they are polite and professional. Elevator is cool, remember to look down. Check out the outdoor train museum before or after. Weekend lines are long but move quick. Accepts cards of course. Quite an impressive structure. read more

Another landmark in Toronto that brings me back to my childhood. My father had a friend who lives in Toronto so every summer, we'd come up here and spend a few weeks with them. CN Tower or La Tour CN, if you want to be specific, was one of the stops we'd make for sight seeing. I still have VHS videos of me being up here as a kid. It brings a lot of childhood memories for me and it'll always hold a special place in my heart. With that being said, I think it's worth it for you to stop in here and get a vista view of Toronto on a clear day. The lines go by fast and it's a stunning view. Totally worth it if you're not afraid of heights and want to sit on the glass. read more

Canada Day reminded me of all the wonderful things Canada offers: cute girls, poutine, and the CN Tower. The Tower is certainly worth a visit. From the observation deck on a clear day, one can take in Toronto in all its glory. I first came here awhile ago, and it left its mark on me. Yes, it's touristy, and the lines can be long, but you can't beat that view. The view may be a bit nauseating to those with a fear of heights, but it's not entirely unreasonable. Just remember, you're behind glass! I'll be back to try the restaurant. read more

We had a chance to visit the CN Tower because we had done the Edgewalk and it was included in our ticket. In my opinion, I think the Edgewalk was a much better, unobstructed, view of the city. The CN Tower sky pod had too many dirty windows on it. You could not get a great picture from up there. Plus, there came a point where it was just too crowded. What was even more hilarious was that there was a person who was eating her salad and placed it on the railing in the observation area. If the salad had dropped, then the entire window in that area would have been dirty and the view of the city from that point would have been ruined. They should not allow food in this area. The observation deck allowed for a view of the city--where you are exposed to the wind and other elements, but again, it was obstructed with gates. The inside of the observation deck was very informative with the history of the tower written on the walls. Although the views were obstructed, it is still a good cheaper version to see the city. Definitely something to do and check off the bucket list. read more

Beautiful view! The sky pod is definitely worth it, as well as the restaurant. However, the organization for time slots is messed up. If we reserve a time slot, then we should expect to go in at that time and not wait over an hour longer to do so. They should also have a separate line for dinner reservations since that was very unclear too. The staff was courteous enough to help but those times need adjusting. read more

This is actually my second time up the CN tower but I obviously don't remember anything from when I was a 2-year-old. $32 is ridiculous. What's even worse is the longgggggg 2.5 hour wait, surrounded by kids front and back, bumping and kicking you. I think it's appropriate to say that in these situations, it's okay to not like kids. The wait is torture so make sure you bring someone talkative or something to play with while you're on line. The elevator has a gorgeous view of the city; you can look straight from the doors or you can look down from the middle. What I didn't like is that there were sooo many kids who were blocking the windows by sitting up and there were large groups of people. The observation deck on the bottom was much better. There was a huge glass floor which you can stand and look down on but super hard to take photos unless your camera can take bright photos. Observation deck was so windy and sticky but well worth it. read more

If you are planning a day trip, make the CN Tower part of it. I recommend getting a toronto city pass to skip the lines, citypass.com (roughly 70-90 dollars adults/50 kids for access to CN Tower, Aquarium, Zoo, Casa Loma). It's expensive, no doubt. Especially if you go all the way up to the Sky Pod. And you know what? You want to go all the way up to the Sky Pod! We didn't partake of any of that, we just went up as high as we possibly could. In retrospect, I wish we'd done the combo ticket with the aquarium, but you live and you learn. If you're visiting Toronto, you should make a visit to the CN Tower -- one of the highest building structures in the world! We received complimentary tickets since we dined at the 360 Restaurant (see my review), but general admission tickets are $29 for adults and prices are reduced for seniors and children. It was a little crowded when we visited, but we were able to walk around and check out the city on the observation deck. The glass floor was pretty cool (and scary for someone who would be afraid of heights) and the views of the city of Toronto and Lake Ontario were gorgeous. Definitely a great photo op here! I think that the CN Tower is a beautiful free standing structure, very pleasing to the eye. Great tourist attraction trap (since there is nothing much up there) the view is nothing spectacular to look at. The restaurant is mediocre but worth to dine there and visit the CN Tower for free ;) What's even better now is that they added the aquarium downstairs, so more reasons to come to the CN Tower. The CN Tower is a great way to symbolize that you are in the core of downtown Toronto, and that you can see it miles away (so you always know where dt is) A great addition to have in the city of Toronto. I appreciate this structure even more now, after climbing up the 144+ floors of the CN Tower stairs for charity. read more
