In the past, I would never consider Waterfront as a destination for Tourists.
Even to this day, it's still missing a focal-point that other City's Waterfronts have.
As much as the Transformations have happened recently, it has very little impact.
The people that feels the most benefits/costs are the nearby Condo dwellers.
All those new Condo units south of Gardiner Expressway blocking view of Lake.
As the combination of Gardiner Expressway and Condos fence off the Lake for others.
Transformation which is better than what we had before and moving in some sort of
direction. Waterfront is still a localized Neighbourhood zone which citizens outside of
this zone utilize very seldomly if at all.
Beautiful Parks, Boardwalks, Urban Beaches, Piers all now up to standards of some
other Waterfronts. Question remains, all the money invested in this project, how
many Torontonians has actually came across the Waterfront to see the Tax dollars
and enjoy the scenery in relaxing happiness?
If you've ever had a chance to walk along the stretch between Yonge to Bathurst
during the summer, it's quite pleasant reminds me of some waterside paths I've
visited in Vancouver. I'm happy with what it has reached currently but it's just
unfortunate that such a beautiful Lakeside cannot reach higher potential. read more
