There's no premium or laser projection here. No reclining seats, either. So unless you enjoy spending your money on a movie that would look better on your own TV, you'll have to go to either Lakeland or east to the next county to see a properly shown film.

Yes, you might get misted a bit or some bubbles in your hair. Make sure to check the schedule to plan your day as each one only gets shown twice per day.

The theaters themselves are nicely set up with reserved seating and heated reclining seats that make a huge difference, especially for a longer movie. The screens are nice and large, and they now offer Laser at AMC projection, which gives the picture excellent brightness, color, and clarity. You can even order food and drinks ahead through mobile ordering and have everything ready when you arrive. My only disappointment really has nothing to do with AMC itself--it's the mall surrounding it. Lakeshore Mall has unfortunately been declining for years, and it seems like every time we visit there are fewer stores open. It's sad to see because I remember when malls like this were packed and were destinations themselves. Thankfully, AMC continues to give people a reason to come here. Kind words and professionalism. The only concern was something we believe is well, not profession or sanitary. We don't believe you should use your hands to open up the popcorn bag! We believe well- that's nasty. You can pop the bag to open the bag, or use the scoop to open but not your hands! Would you do this when you serve a soda- stick your finger or hand inside a cup to dry or clear debris? Look, we asked our cashier not to put their hand inside the popcorn bag and pop it like one of his employees did and we got a weird look- we asked in the most kind, super Disney kind voice- PLEASE DONT STICK YOUR HAND IN THE BAG. PLEASE POP IT OPEN JUST NOT USING YOUR HAND (that's caps here- not yelling). When the employee went to get the popcorn it looked- we believe- he told the manager this (we could be wrong) but even if he didn't , the manager looked to brush off what the employee said and OPENED UP USING HER HANDS THE INSIDE of the POPCORN BAG (yes here I'm escalating emotion). It's just not professional or sanitary. If napkins fall on the ground- throw them away! It's simple. The theater itself was nice, with wide aisles and comfortable reclining seats. We were able to purchase a couple of alcoholic beverages which was a nice addition to our movie time, as well as some popcorn. The drinks were nice and cold and the popcorn delicious. If you really like popcorn purchase the 'extra large' and you get an additional refill. The concession staff were friendly. The young guys manning and scanning tickets to get to your designated theater were okay as well. We will be back to see another movie here, as we enjoy watching them on the big screen, should something worth watching come out (there have been plenty of garbage movies the past couple of years).

Not once have I seen anyone "snap" on a fellow coworker or treat a rude customer with anything but grace, even in the height of a rush before a big showtime. I love this theater; I live an hour away, and checking my Sunray account, I have seen close to thirty movies since July. I could go to a theater a quarter of the distance, but what I am spending on gas I am saving on great prices at concession, a better selection of films with stuff that is rare to see on the big screen, and an overall better experience. Vadavision is the only constant group/event I'm aware of presenting specialty films, but there are others constantly--constant special movie events and 4K restorations you won't find other places; I'm still kicking myself for missing Amy Goodman in person showing her movie. A safe space is cultivated at Sunray; to my left I see Gen X punk rockers on the way to see A Decline of Western Civilization, and to my right I see a family of four on their way to see Avengers: Encore, and trailing behind me are my Gen Z ducklings on our way to see Camp Miasma, or a new piece of Hindi cinema making the rounds internationally. Everyone, however, totes popcorn and soda and candy and beers and pictures from the photobooth and other symbols of good times ahead. See a movie here with your kids if you're local, see how much money you save compared to other theaters and how fun of a time you have. My only complaint was it took forever as the ticket kiosk didn't update seating correctly so I had to change my tickets for the next movie to have side by side seating. I am not a huge Spider-Man fan but the movie was good.
