I just want to praise Allison Concrete Construction and the ways in which they have improved our…read moreproperty and our lives. We hired Allison Concrete to build a retaining wall behind our barn in 2022. It was next to impossible to get a company out to our property at that time to build the wall, with different companies giving me a variety of excuses. And, then, I called Allison Concrete. Sergio came out and gave me a very reasonable bid and started the work in a timely fashion. We didn't have to wait 3 - 6 months as was the case with more than one company. This year, we had an immediate, and very urgent need, to have a rock retaining wall built due to a failure in the fall by another company. We, again, thought of Allison Concrete in hopes that they could correct the failed wall and my wife's broken heart! Sergio came out "same day" to assess the disaster and see if he could remedy the situation out front. We received Sergio's extremely reasonable bid within 48 hours and quickly hired him to get the job done. Much to our surprise, Sergio put us on his schedule the following week. Within 2 days, Sergio and a helper created the most beautiful wall to the point that we could hardly remember the muddy disaster that we had to look at all winter through our kitchen window!! Correcting the failed wall and building a new wall was a big job and took a large backhoe as well as artistic skills to construct, as some of the large rocks/boulders weighed about 2000 pounds. We are looking at hiring Allison Construction for another job that just came up; concrete footings for a gazebo that will be built above our hot tub. Not only is Sergio the epitome of a true professional, he has a heart of gold and has a sincere desire to see his customers satisfied and happy! My wife is extremely happy with her new retaining wall! Sergio is always on time, cleans up his work space at the end of each day and works hard with no breaks that we saw! "Oh - I injured my foot - next week for sure." I wait for the next week and again no one shows up. I wait a few days and contact him. "Oh - my foot is still injured - but next week for sure." Guess what - he did not show up the next week and then just stopped responding to my texts. I understand that delays come up but why is it my responsibility to have to repeatedly contact him when no one shows up on the scheduled date again and again? If something comes up, LET ME KNOW! And if you don't want to do it, LET ME KNOW! After a month of having my texts ignored, we gave up on him and contracted with the city to do the repair.

They are honest, open, communicative, and work like crazy to get the job done! Bill does really high quality work - he always explains in detail how he's tackling the job and sends a ton of photos so you can see what he and his team are doing at every step. One of my retaining walls (see photos) is in a really precarious location on a public sidewalk next to a busy street, but Bill and his team were able to handle it like true professionals. He estimated the work would take a few weeks, but after assessing the situation he decided that they needed to get the sidewalk cleared as quickly as possible so that people could walk by, so he brought in reinforcements and finished this wall in three days. Three days!!! No exaggeration - the "before" photo was taken on a Thursday, and the "after" photo was taken on Saturday! I have no idea how he pulled that off, but I so appreciate that he worked so hard to get the wall done quickly and cleaned up the area perfectly so that my neighbors wouldn't get mad at me :D Long story short, I feel really well taken care of by Bill and Sue - they treat you like family and I absolutely love my new "hawaiian style" wall :) Mahalo Bill and Sue!

Sam changed his number and will not respond to his emails. Last response I got from him was that his father was dying and would return to finish the work. Found out his dad died in 2022! Also was having a vinyl chain link fence to divide yard installed by them. Started on time, workers did the brickwork and turf well. Great employees. Then Tom showed up saying "my fence guy wants to do a wood/wire fence instead...he says it will still match your existing fence." I asked about price adjustment, he said it was more expensive but he wouldn't charge anything. This was a horrible decision. Fence looks like a middle school project. It took me a month to finally get Tom (owner) to come out. Stain was not complete, rough cuts were left as-is, latch didn't latch. When he finally came out, he had a ton of excuses. He "fixed" the latch by inserting a piece of wire to jimmy the latch. Told my wife that "the stain just looks different in the sun and it's completely stained (it's not). Told her the rough cuts and ripped/frayed edges were normal (I was out of town). I asked him to come back when I was home, it took almost two weeks to get him back. He told me the same, when I confronted him about the wire piece "fix" he said "not me". Said rough cuts/frays "can be filed but will change the look of the fence". I told him I wanted the fence re-stained and to have his office contact me with a date so I could be home. That was 2 months ago. I'm simply chalking it up to "shame on me for this choice" and doing the fix myself.
