Thavma easily beat my expectations. The studio (Sarasota) was beautiful and zen. The teachers were great. The classes were challenging. I tried the two week trial and give myself a 90% chance of joining after I try out a little competition as I am new to the area. (Update: I joined and bought the 1-year all-you-can-sweat pass - love it) The best thing about the teachers was their attention to detail: they make sure to watch your alignment and constant remind us of the right adjustments to make the poses correctly and safe. But they were also friendly and fun and the classes had lots of people that had clearly been members for a while. Their 26+2 class is a slight variation of Bikram, so if you know that or Google it, you will know what to expect. I enjoyed those classes very much. Just know there are slight and intentional variations and you should follow them and not show how you can do the "real" poses. The Red Thavma is basically Yoga + Pilates + Abs + Sauna. This is a great way to tone up and burn calories if that is your thing. The Black Thavma is a harder version of Red, but I did not get a chance to try that. I highly recommend their $39 two week all-you-can-yoga pass. Try to commit to 6-8 classes as the first one will seem hot enough to make you give up, but you get use to it and learn to pace yourself. I think it is easy to get addicted, and I did love it. Hints: get well hydrated 3-4 hours before class, sip water in class, definitely take a sweat towel for your mat and keep an bring a sports drink or two for afterwards. Take a towel for your car seat too. They supply a strap and block and when I forgot my mat they lent me a free one -but they normally charge $2, They also have electrolyte packets to add to your water and they have cold water. They stopped renting towels during COVID and have decided not to restart that. Do it!

Update: Got a message today saying my PENDING cancelation was canceled because I owed more money…read more Apparently the $115 I gave y'all for a membership I can't use wasn't enough. I called back and was told my account is paid in full, and my membership is canceled. They advised me to call the head office to ensure. The automated system said I owed another $24, but the live agent said I didn't and my membership was canceled, no longer pending. I hope to God I'm done with this company and they don't try to come after me for even more money for a membership I can't use. Forcing people to continue to pay for something they cancel is criminal.

I've been with this gym now for almost a year now, and it has to be one of the WORST gyms that I…read morehave joined. I had to bring in DUCT tape to tape up the bicep machine (where you put your arms) because it was so torn up for months. The bicycle's are crap. The sound doesn't work on one of them, and on the other one, the pulse monitor doesn't work. The sit up machine was broken for MONTHS before they fixed it. How hard is it to replace a BOLT. The triceps machine is down right dangerous if you have never used one before, because there are NO adjustments on it. You could easily blow out your shoulders. It's like they've put the CHEAPEST equipment in the gym, and then charge you a premium price to work out there. They didn't pay the cable bill, so there was no TV for a few weeks. How do you not take care of basic things? I am not a little man. 6'3" and 235lbs. I've had to MOVE the bench machine away from the wall more than once because they push it so close, I'd be putting my feet on the mirror, not to mention it's close to both machine's on either side of it, so if someone is working out there, I have to be extra careful, and turn sideways to get around them, or to get to the back, and I have to also be careful when changing the weights. There's a nice big room in the back where I'm assuming they would have classes for yoga and bikes, ect. NOPE. It's a big empty room. Someone, or corporate, is putting a WHOLE LOT of money in their pockets because it SURE isn't going into this place. If you can, stay away from this place. It's an accident waiting to happen.
