What a fantastic experience! We had an incredible time on this trip. The location is stunning, with a scenic beach and the most friendly, welcoming staff. Whether you're traveling as a couple, with family, or friends, I highly recommend this resort -- it's truly outstanding. We'd love to give a special shout-out to a few G.O.s who made our stay unbelievably memorable: Guerson - He set the tone for our entire vacation. I attended one of his sports classes on the first day, and his energy and vibe were amazing! My husband and I really enjoyed sharing great moments with him over breakfast and dinner, and we made it a point to join his classes whenever possible. He's a gem! Nelson - We met him during dinner one evening, and he instantly brought such a great vibe. Friendly, fun, and full of energy, he made a huge difference at the classes and parties. He knows how to connect with people and keep the energy high -- the perfect host for any celebration! Tarik - Always smiling and full of positive energy! Tarik was my hero -- he quite literally saved me from an epic fall while I was grabbing a drink and didn't notice a step. Out of nowhere, he appeared like a superhero and caught me mid-fall! Beyond that, he's hilarious, approachable, and just radiates good vibes. Betinha, Blake, and Yerko (Circus Team) - They were absolutely fantastic! Patient, encouraging, and super fun as they guided us through the trapeze. Their performances during the night shows were outstanding -- we just wish there had been more opportunities to see them in action. Truly a highlight of our trip. Mara and Juan - These two were the heart and soul of the "Botega" bar during our tequila and mezcal tasting. Their knowledge, humor, and great energy made for such a memorable experience. We found ourselves going back just to hang out with them before dinner every night! Luis (Resort Manager) & Cristal (Jade Manager) - The resort has such a great vibe, and it's easy to see it starts at the top. We had the pleasure of meeting both Luis and Cristal thanks to a good friend of ours who works at the resort (Agnes), and we were truly impressed. Their dedication to excellence and hospitality was clear in every aspect of our stay. You're doing an incredible job -- thank you for making this such a special experience! We'll definitely be recommending Club Med Cancun -- and all these amazing people -- to anyone who asks about our trip. I'm sure there are many more incredible staff members we didn't get the chance to meet during our week there, but we already can't wait to come back. THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

    Main pool.

Location is good. GO Staff lacks hospitality and are unfriendly. Does not live up to the Club Med mission and customer service. Off-site excursion made our vacation worth the journey.

Hands up, baby! Haut les mains! Crazy signs are always a hit at Club Med! On chante, on danse, on fait des rencontres merveilleuses! Food is good, sans plus! Except for the two fancy gals evenings. If you enjoy Mexican cuisine, it is fresh and abundant but little variety, otherwise. A moins d'adorer frites, hamburgers, croquettes de poulet et hot dogs...Kids are super happy. Activities are plentiful, G. O.s are fun, knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around. Shoutouts to Mr. Pijama (archery) , Wanny (fitness) and John (sailing). Go and swim in the underground river, learn about Mayan history and architecture.

Our family had a very enjoyable experience at Club Med Cancun. We initially booked this because it had everything we wanted which was all inclusive and activities for the kids. During our time there, we ended up all hanging out together....going to the beach and pool. Our kids didn't do any of the activities so I can't speak to those but they looked like fun. We had a blast each evening during the live music and events in the theater! The Michael Jackson one was probably my favorites. The staff were very nice and we really enjoyed the food. We stayed in the Aquamarina section and it was perfect for a family of four because we had a room for us and for the kids(2 adults, 2 kids). The beach area was kept very clean as well as the pools. I will say if you stay at the Aquamarina, you will want to go to the main area to be on the beach. Another good thing....their golf carts! They run constantly which is nice because the resort is spread out and you don't want to walk it all of the time. But it literally takes 5 minutes or less anywhere you want to go and you get to see the beautiful ocean and scenery as you ride. It was also fun to see the iguanas that run along the paths. Thank you for a wonderful experience for my family

View from our balcony at sunset. Again, Nature is wonderful.

Just as an FYI, this review is ONLY for an adult, neurotypical experience of the resort. We also have a son who has ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder). I did a specific review for the resort as a parent of an ASD child, which you may be interested in because I *highly caution* taking an ASD young person to this resort. You can read it on my blog at https://momoftheseasons.com/. We booked a seven-day all-inclusive stay with Club Med, from Sunday to Sunday. We also splurged on the more expensive room (the Superior) with a beach view. When we left the airport, we had trouble locating the driver which was chartered by Club Med to drive us to the resort, about 20 minutes away. We finally located the Club Med rep behind the Margaritaville Bar, outside the airport where transportation arrives/departs. He was wearing a Club Med polo shirt and holding a clipboard. After we asked if he was the driver to the resort, he searched the list and we were confirmed. No person was holding a name sign, like you always wanted, secretly. ;) We were welcomed upon arrival with water with cucumber and lime, a tour of the resort, and finally to our room on the 3rd floor. When we arrived at the room, I was disappointed by the condition. We discovered quickly that the toilet was broken. We had to call for help before our bags were delivered. Plus, despite this being a "superior" room, the provided toiletries were abysmal. For example, the shampoo was a "shampoo and conditioner". Make sure to bring all of your own, including the hair dryer. Also, the daybed, which was a long crushed velvet sofa, was extremely hot to sleep on and didn't come with any sheets (for our son). When we asked for some sheets, we received towels instead (we don't speak Spanish which made asking for specific things a bit challenging). We got so little sleep due to the inadequate cooling of the room I started to feel insane. The all-inclusive included access to a breakfast-to-dinner buffet was an unhappy experience. I was disappointed at how spotty and inconsistent the food, drink, and the staff was. Sometimes we would get served water, but only at dinner for some reason. We either had to find it ourselves or specifically request it (in a disposable coffee cup, no less), while sometimes it was provided in a goblet with ice and provided refills by the staff. This was the same with the house red and white wine and coffee. Sometimes you got a refill, other times you had to hunt it down or just give up altogether. One breakfast I requested coffee with cream and the creamer was actually curdled *in* the container. I didn't notice it until I poured it and it fell into curds. I didn't get a new coffee. The food ranged from decent to low-end and lousy. Considering that the buffet was our kitchen for each day outside of reservations, the quality was a very big deal and this did not deliver at all. The provided bar drinks were incredibly frustrating. They were so weak I felt like I was having sparkling flavored water or a tangy smoothie. I only ever felt a pleasant buzz on the house red wine, when I actually got it. Finally, and extremely important, the Club Mini Med "childcare" for kids was an absolute joke. It was a small, fenced-in, claustrophobic area with a tiki hut and two splash pad places with water slides and other forgettable things. It actually looked like an add-on. It resembled a low-end daycare that you're regretful to leave your kids at when you were flat broke. We -never- used it even though we thought it would be a great option for our son. In addition, the kids in Mini-Med were frequently being led around by the supervising adults (who looked pretty unenthused) shouting things. We couldn't figure it out but they were just walking around yelling and/or singing things for some reason, like a parade, but lacking all joy. Everything was either in French or Spanish, which was the majority of the resort demographic overall. We found out later that the room had ants and fruit flies/gnats in the toilet room. My husband had something mysterious land in his lap while in there that went skittering off, unapologetically. At the end of it all, due to additional circumstances that I have outlined in detail in my blog, we had to leave the resort and return home on the third day. Just for added frustration, the Cancun airport suddenly demanded that everyone inside wear a mask to go through security and charged everyone for it. We paid $20 for 3 paper masks. Right- it was required, but none were free or provided. A nice added bonus to a great holiday. I do not recommend this resort unless you're after the excursions and care little about anything else. I'm sure those are once-in-a-lifetime!

And what used to be "the world's largest telephone booth" would dominate ANY hotel in the USA. The people are overly friendly as long as you are not doing shady things. And with billboards offering services directly to your room and a hospital system where you only go if you're sick. The "grey area" is a pretty loose term. The entire hotel is illuminated with L.E.D.'s. The space is immaculate. It was 1/4 mile from the room to the lobby. The ballrooms and convention spaces are like a stadium. (Indoors or outdoors). The public bus arrives every (2) minutes and are often full. It is approximately .50 US to go 30 miles downtown. Just looking at the creative ideas a child could write a book . "This ain't Tijuana". Every single person that works at this property is out of this world! Kind, helpful and always going above and beyond to make things memorable! There's always a little bit of construction because they're renovating, so plan accordingly by calling with them to make sure the areas you want open, are open. The new speakeasy is super cute. We visited there one evening and have the best time and service! This isn't the same restaurant where you go to breakfast but at night is a Spanish tapas restaurant. Everything was fantastic but all the food on the property is really great! We especially loved to order lunch by the pool. All the cocktails are fantastic, even poolside! Rooms are standard JW with some of them recently updated with the others on their way to being updated. Yes, there is a sort of a musty smell in the air, but that's in most hotels. It's a very hard to keep those highly humid rooms from smelling a little musty. You just have to get over it and enjoy the time outside the room. Pools are super cute and the beach area is nice. There is an adult pool that is open during the day but wish it was open later! Lots of places in walking distance if you decide to venture out of the property but why would you need to! Easy drive from the airport and to the downtown or for departure to Isla Mujeres. We did not go to the island this time but last time we booked everything through the hotel and they made it super easy.

In addition, the original rooms tv remote didn't work, the lamp was inoperable and it was run down. We were a group of 8, with 4 different rooms. All but 1 group was able to get an 11 o'clock. Their check out was 10, so we all had to accommodate the earlier time in order to operate as a group. The hotel wasn't even busy! It is a far stretch calling this a resort and spa. Our luggage was immediately checked in and we were able to check in even arriving early around 11 am. Our particular room was ready and we checked and our luggage was promptly dropped off. We stayed in an oceanfront room which had a beautiful view with a seating area inside and on the balcony. The room and bathroom were very clean and well stocked. I like the aromatherapy touch in the resort and in our rooms being able to choose which scent you wanted was very nice. I loved the separation of the toilet and shower by a wall and doors for privacy when using either. The water pressure and water temperature in the shower was great although there was some water draining from the shower during use. We would generally put a foot towel down to contain the water. The room was serviced twice daily so we were never without towels, etc. I also utilized the laundry service which was reasonably priced for three pieces of clothing and it was returned the next day. The staff was generally very courteous and helpful (we only had one less than courteous experience with a waiter at the Hidden Garden on our last evening). The food at the restaurants and by the beach and pool area was great - I cannot say enough about the fresh fruit and the grilled ribs and chicken so well seasoned and cooked with flavor. We ate daily in Siete for breakfast (the smoothie station you will need to go to first because it fills up because the smoothies are sooo good). We also dined at Hidden Garden where I enjoyed Indian cuisine which was delicious (but a small portion). All inclusive so it was nice not having to continually carry payment and only the gratuity needed for the staff. The last two mornings of our stay there appeared to be construction in the room next door or our floor which was disturbing - we did alert the front desk staff and it would generally stop around a certain time. Getting beds and chairs at the beach was generally easy but for the pool it was the hunger games usually having to place towels or bags on chairs early to 'reserve' them (there are no reservations for chairs only for the larger cabanas for an additional fee) We also experienced the spa which was amazing. Highly recommend visiting during your stay. The spa ritual is so relaxing and the couples massage in a combined room was great. Would definitely stay again. $$$

We loved that they were different temperatures too, what a fun bonus. We arrived at the pools around 8am each morning and there were plenty of options to where we wanted to grab a spot for the day. The cabana prices were high, and based on our experience not necessary when there are so many options. Food - I was really looking forward to the sushi, which was truly terrible. I also had read reviews that they had "the best pad Thai ever" at Hidden Garden, it was the worst pad Thai I've ever had! The smoothies for breakfast were amazing, I wish they were available all day. We did our homework before our trip and saw Zilara Cancun had good/decent reviews about their food. Let me tell you, this is probably the best food I've had in a long long time. Top dishes for me are the octopus with mole and lobster tostada from Maria Marie. If you like/can eat seafood, trust me on this. The drinks are phenomenal as well. There are signature drinks at all the restaurants. Those are mostly hits but some are misses (depends on your taste buds) PRO TIP: sign up for alcohol tastings at The Den first day you get there. We did tequila and wine tasting. It was quite a unique experience. SERVICE I've never gotten treated like this in any hotel I've been at. Chef's kiss for sure. The bellhop/front desk usually can break your 20s/100s into 1s so don't feel the need to exchange pesos (unless you want to of course). The workers at the hotel (and around Cancun overall) takes USD PRO TIP: there are a lot of activities hosted by the hotel. Morning exercise classes are really fun and the night shows are just okay. The crowd is definitely on the older side that just want to come to Cancun and chill not party. BEACH- this is honestly one of the highlights. The resort had one of the best beaches and ability to get in the ocean. If you want to get in the ocean, this is the spot. SERVICE - this was the most disappointing. At Excellence you cannot breathe without someone asking if you need something. It took a long time for people to check on us and we tip well. Day 4 we finally found Humberto who was THE BEST! Find him and tip him well. ROOMS- they were good and I was happy with them! POOLS- the pools were fine. A little shaded. The most annoying part was the cabana situation. Some are free, some are always paid, and some are paid on certain days. The lobby is beautiful, it's a smaller resort so we could easily find out way around. Lots of choices for food and drinks, we never went hungry! But I ended up in the buffet the most, just loved it! So many choices, you could get a different meal every time! Stick with the Mexican foods, so good! Swim up bar, get any drinks your wanted in the pool, so pretty! Easy access to the beach and walking along we saw turtles just hatching! Our room was comfortable with the AC working great, very clean! Bring lots of $1 for tipping, many employees all around!

I told the Bartender (who noticed and understood the insults and looked pretty uncomfortable too) that I didn't want to be too upset during my birthday trip by cursing anyone out. I asked him if he could tell the rowdy hotel guests to chill out and be respectful. He did,and sure enough they stopped. They calmed down and stopped all the insults and laughter. Aside from the weird hotel guests,I had a wonderful stay. Excellent customer service and friendly staff ,great location, very clean facility. I would definitely return one day.

Check in with Diego was a breeze. Although they did not offer us an upgrade, which could have been possible through our credit card partnership, he did let us pick a room from what was available. We picked 5044. The view was good, not a full ocean view but we did have a partial ocean view. The hotel and room were very clean. The staff was very attentive and anticipated our needs. I was very please with the hotel. It exceeded my expectations. If I ever return to Cancun, I would stay here again.

Unfortunately, for the past two years, our experiences have declined significantly. The hotel no longer maintains the level of service and standards we once loved. The atmosphere feels different, the staff are not as welcoming, and there is a noticeable lack of attentiveness and care. During this stay, we had a particularly unpleasant two-day experience at the beach regarding the setup of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Rather than going into every detail, I will simply say the situation was handled poorly and left us very disappointed. What was most upsetting was that no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issue or make up for the inconvenience. Even after speaking with Guest Relations, who mentioned contacting the General Manager, nothing improved the following day. No accommodation or gesture was offered, which was surprising given the hotel's luxury positioning. It is also noticeable that the property feels quite empty during weekdays, except on special occasions or long weekends. Even then, the warmth and hospitality we once associated with this hotel seem to be missing. That said, I want to sincerely recognize Valenzo, who served us daily. He was professional, kind, and incredibly attentive. We never had to ask for anything, he would notice small details, like refilling ice before we even realized it was melting. His service was outstanding and he truly tried to make our stay better. Thank you, Valenzo. You made a difference. It is genuinely sad to see a place that once meant so much to us lose its standard. We hope management takes guest feedback seriously and invests in retraining staff to restore the level of service this property was once known for.

We arrived late and asked for bottled water, and were told to just drink the sink water... in Mexico. That alone set the tone. I also repeatedly emailed our concierge for assistance and received no response whatsoever. Our room smelled like mold, and the sheets were damp. Housekeeping replaced them, but the odor and overall condition never improved. Not what you expect at this level. Then it got worse. We had two rooms, one at this hotel and one at a neighboring hotel where a large group of our family was staying. That other hotel requires wristbands, which we had, so security here assumed we didn't belong, even though we had rooms at this property. At the pool, they approached us publicly and repeatedly questioned us, over and over, in front of everyone. No attempt to verify privately, no discretion, just standing over us and making a scene. It was humiliating. Then it happened again. While checking out, we crossed back onto this property to retrieve our luggage that they were holding. Security stopped us again and treated us like we were doing something wrong, only to confirm, once again, that we were legitimate guests. Two separate incidents. Same behavior. The level of aggression and lack of professionalism from security is completely out of control. This is not how paying guests should ever be treated. This wasn't just a misunderstanding, it was a failure in how guests are handled, and it happened more than once. We will never stay here again.
