In reading other people's reviews, I thought to my self, "Self, perhaps you should give 309 another shot".....and then I realized those reviews were written 2-3 years ago. So. For a more recent update: I HATE 309, where the girls dance on the bar. Those girls are too busy dancing on the bar to make drinks! And when you DO get a bartender, half the time they don't know what you're asking for, which is frustrating! I'm sorry I want a round of girly shots for me and my ladies...but if you don't know how to make a grapesicle, red headed slut or a fun dip, I'm not coming back here! The girls seem to be selected not for bartending skills, but for ass shaking skills...and even that wasn't up to par. Plus, this place is ALWAYS rife with creepers. Srsly guys, stare at the girls on the bar and keep your hands to yourself. If I want you to talk to me, I'll give you the eye. And no thanks, really means, no thanks. I pass on 309, only going here when forced, typically by out of town male friends of friends who have no idea how bad it is. No matter how much you tell them. I used to go here often when I lived here (and a friend of a friend knew the bouncer, so we never had to pay to get in) and liked going for the dancing! (I used to buy my drinks "upstairs" and across the way, at Savannah Smiles, and then bring the drinks down to 309 - they were always stronger and usually cheaper). The place can get very packed and very hot, usually with a lot of college kids -- so keep that in mind before you enter. It's always very dark (black lights, etc.) and the music is generally good. I've always had more fun when SCAD was in session, it provided a good mix of people and a better guy-girl ratio than over summer break. I could totally go without the female bartenders lamely dancing on the bar tops, but I'm sure its a draw for some. :) read more

If you like to dance, this is your place to be in Savannah. It's one of the best dance bars in Downtown. They have two floors, first floor has an area where you can chill and watch TV and the second floor has a dance area. They always play great music there. Well drinks like Jack and Coke is $7.50 per cup, which is a little expensive for the amount you get. Sometimes they even give out coupons at the door for free shots if you buy a drink. I love going to this place and most of the times me and friends end our night of drinking here. Cheers! read more

Stay away from this spot... they charged my credited card twice and gave the card to a complete stranger this past weekend. After 45mins of waiting, the manager approached us and said "sorry we gave your card to another guy but we'll make sure to reverse all the charges." Of course that didn't happen. I was having an amazing time with my friends. We had an AMAZING waitress bringing us shots and Stephanie at the bar was so sweet, attentive and helpful. It was until I went upstairs to use the restroom that I had issues there was no toilet paper in all three stalls and no paper towels. I went to tell the bartender, had to wait until all of the men had ordered. I told the bartender upstairs that there was no paper towels or toilet paper in the women's bathroom. She ROLLED HER EYES at me and HANDED ME A HANDFUL OF NAPKINS. She was extremely rude. Apparently Jason works extremely hard to keep the bathrooms stocked, but the owner doesn't care. It's a fun place to hangout, but if you are a female, use the bathroom before you go. I don't typically write negative reviews, but I was extremely frustrated here. read more

My friends and I went here on a whim one Saturday night and we were pleasantly surprised! There was no cover for ladies and it was ladies drink free all night(mixed drinks). The DJ played an awesome mix of music. It was mainly a pop mix. Periodically the bartenders would get on the bar and dance and we didn't we really care as long as they continued to pour our drinks. There was a nice crowd and a pretty good guy to girl ratio. We had an awesome time and I will definitely going back here. read more

I went to 309 West, where the girls dance on the bar, over the weekend. I had an amazing time! I ordered several shots and mixed drinks, all where made very fast! The bartenders greeted me and were very welcoming and friendly! I even got to see the girls dance on the bar! The choreography was amazing! It was sexy and very tasteful! The DJ played a lot of great new music. The dance floor was lively and energetic. I will be going back for sure! read more

Go here if you're looking for a fairly rowdy time. The music is good, club/pop mix music. I ended up here because someone advertising in City Market gave me a card for a free shot at 309. So I came for the free shot, but I stayed for the dancing upstairs. :) Also upstairs, cute girls dance on the bar. There was no cover at the door. I got hit on by both women and men here, which was fun and flattering. All in all, a successful night out. read more

The bouncer working the door the night of April 2nd was so disrespectful to my friend and made a rude comment about her appearance. As an out of town visitor in Savannah, it really put a bad taste in my mouth about the trip. That guy should be given a refresher course on common courtesy and then probably let go. read more

I've been hanging out in this club for almost a decade! There is nowhere else in savannah to see the HOTTEST bartenders doing full dance routines on top of the bar. They also let me get up and dance with them sometimes. Me and my friends have a blast every time we go dancing at 309. It's also perfect for Bachelorette parties. Every time we go out, we know we will be stopping in 309. It's a Savannah classic. read more
