My favorite food on our 5 day, 3 state road trip! Oh man, we got the Huckleberry ice cream and it was soo thick and full of cream. My husband stole at least half of mine and said he loved it because you can taste the milk, it's not all sugar and other crud. They have whole pies, ice cream quarts, cheese curds, milk jugs, and some local jams for sale so it's a fun little place with lots to offer. The staff were really friendly and we had a good chat being out of towners ourselves. No samples which was frustrating because I was torn on 4 kinds of ice cream and if I got to taste them I could have bought them, but Huckleberry which I did buy was fantastic. Wish we were local to try their other types and get a fruit pie and a couple cartons of ice cream for summer desserts. read more

I am going to leave one star for an actual visit to Buhl. But I couldn't let the opportunity pass to give them an "atta boy" on their products. At my advanced age, it seems like forever that I have been on low fat or fat free dairy products. Decided last week to try their half n half (from Rosaeuers) for my cereal. Oh boy, no going back!! Life is literally too short. LOL. Now, onward to try their ice cream. Heard that there is no compare. As long as I pace my consumption, I think this will be acceptable for an old guy. My first visit was a 5 star. Can't give my 2nd the same. I ordered the same flavors as I did the first time but the chocolate peanut butter was not the same at all. This time the ice cream was barely chocolaty at all and instead of the swaths of peanut butter there were mini peanut buttercup candies. What can I say but, this is an adorable place to stop in and get some amazing ice cream. The building is from the 1930's with murals on the outside of the building and a quaint tin ceiling on the inside. The February flavor of the month was Cherry Amaretto which I had with their Salted Caramel Ice Cream both were delicious. The hubby had the Rum Raisin with the Cherry Amaretto and we both had it in their homemade waffle cones. Yum! Price wise it was about $9 for both but the serving size was good and the ice cream is made right there. The lovely lady waiting on us said the dairy was 4 miles down the road where they get the milk. They also sell dairy products in glass bottles, milk, cream, half n half, yogurt, butter and cheese curds. You can also buy ice cream to take home. We stopped in last week on a day trip from Boise. This is a cute little "vintage" shop with both outdoor and indoor seating. Locally made ice cream offered in several flavors. We ordered four flavors between us, and they were all good! Truth to tell, we weren't huge fans of the texture of this ice cream . . . it's sort of chewy. Not sure if that was because they just want it to be very dense, or because their turn over rate at this time of year isn't as fast as it would be in summer. However, it was still a fun stop. As we were leaving, we could smell the waffle cones cooking, and they smelled amazing! The problem with Yelp is they do not offer more stars. For if they did Cloverleaf Creamery would get 'em all. Hands down the absolute BEST ice cream in all of Idaho, if not the west coast. Smooth, thick and full (no air-pumped junk-cream) and they give you a good amount per scoop for about two and a half bucks as of this review 5/20/2014. The flavors are real and true because the ingredients are fresh (they use their cows for their milk) and as far as I know they do not use artificial anything in their ice cream. It is made right there in the back which is to say it is not made some 500 miles away then flash freezed and shipped to franchised stores (think: Baskin Robbins). My fave: double scoop of Peanut Butter and Chocolate and Chocolate chip cookie dough in a waffle cone. Dare I say it?: Both scoops are really way too much, but I eat it anyway and think that if this were my last meal, i'd be OK with it. Inside is totally reminiscent of old-school ice cream and soda shops. Black and white checkered floors and period pieced furniture. the employees are all so very pleasant. It's like they get it when kids come in and want a million sample tastes. The employees comply with each loud, little-kid request and they comply with a smile. I never go to Buhl (where Cloverleaf is located) without getting Cloverleaf ice cream. Even when it's 8 below and a foot of snow on the ground while heavy snow is falling (yes, I've done it) I will still stop in and get some ice cream. I'm a pig. I don't care. And yes, if you're reading this while in the car on Highway 84 Cloverleaf is totally worth the extra 30 minutes off the interstate. read more

This company has excellent milk. Bottled in glass bottles it not only has a classic look, but also serves to keep the milk colder, fresher, longer. This company was referred to me by a family friend. Upon paying a small deposit for each bottle (2.50) I've been enjoying this milk for years on the same deposit. The owners of this diary and creamery welcome anyone to come tour and see for themselves the process with which the milk is collected and bottled. Pretty neat.
