***This is NOT an enclosed JEEP, so please bring a JACKET and SHUT UP!!!*** My Husband and I picked Cloud Climbers, specifically because we thought the open jeep and possible off-roading would be fun. One of the other couple's however were very very rude and sarcastic about it. "What? I can't hear you! Let me close the window!" Dumbass. Any who, Our driver Iaon was VERY PROFESSIONAL. I would have left them behind at one of the wineries for sure. I'm just sayin... After we picked up our last couple (we were a total of 3 couples) Iaon handed us a menu to order our lunch, and off we went. 1st We went to Sevtap winery in Solvang. Cute place. The walls were a blackboard and there was writing & art all over the place. Pics to follow. 2nd Gainey They had some chips & salsa's and pretzels & Chocolate. we snacked a bit before we had some more wine. The chocolate was so good, we bought 2. 3rd Lincourt We ate our lunch here. We bought a bottle to have with our food. I don't remember much after that, LOL. Really good wine though. 4th Kalyra umm.. yea... Don't drink too much. Everyone is super nice, it's an amazing experience, and I highly recommend it!!!

Cloud Climber Jeep Tours offers an intimate (6 people max) backroads, six hour tour that includes four wine tastings (cost is built into the tour package) of the guests' choice, a souvenir balloon wine glass and a gourmet deli lunch -- all for $99 per person. It was too good a deal to pass up. The day of our "backroads" Sideways wine tour, our guide took us to wineries based on preferences for white and red wines. We hit picturesque Bridlewood Vineyards, eclectic and down-to-earth Branders Vineyard, gentrified Linwood Winery and finally Kalyra -- while Miles and Jack in Sideways first meet Sandra Oh. On our way back to Santa Barbara, the six of us (my fellow wine tourists were strangers before the trip), were wondering when we would experience the "backroads" part of the journey. Our guide did not disappoint -- he took us onto Refugio Road, drove over little creeks running over the dirt road, and climbed "into the clouds" of the Santa Barbara Mountains. We were able to see Santa Ynez and wine country behind us and then finally the Pacific Ocean in front of us. Quite an enjoyable experience, esp. since we were truly offroading on a narrow dirt road. On the way down to Highway 1, we passed by President Reagan's dude ranch and avocado orchards. The guide dropped us off at our respective hotels; we all had smiles on our faces, bottles of great wine in hand and a memorable experience.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Booked this tour based on the reviews! And they were all right! The tour was a BLASTY BLAST!! We booked it last minute as it was Carmageddon weekend and we had planned to stay in all but since it was nothing as anyone had anticipated my boyfriend and I decided to take the day and meet with some friends on a wine tasting tour and who would have ever thought: Off Roading and Wine Tasting would go hand in hand! The tour begins at approx 10am. We had to meet the tour guide at the Santa Barbara train station at that time. The problem was that we were a little behind on time and so when our tour guide called to see where we were, I freaked out. It doesn't help that I get cold sweat when I'm late and I was already frustrated with my boyfriend for taking forever in a day to pick what pair of Jordans he should wear..God bless him. ; ) Well let me tell you how awesome our tour guide was, these were his exact words: " Ok Nancy do me a favor and just breathe..you're not too far away and I promise I'm not going anywhere. Just relax and get here safely and I promise you all that we are going to have the time of your lives"!!! From that point forward I knew that it was going to be a damn good day and it sure was. The customer service provided by Cloud Climbers is by far the best. The tour guides ensure that you worry about nothing but wine tasting! You'll never go thirsty or hungry! And because they are so knowledgable and entertaining you will never be bored. I cross my heart! My friends, boyfriend and I had so much fun we would totally do it again! It was worth every penny!! So book this tour and if your tour guide is just as amazing don't forger to TIP!!!!! They really deserve it!!!

AN AMAZING TIME!! Tammy was our driver and she was amazing! We went wine tasting at Gainey and Rideau, a little Olive Oil tasting stop for fun then off to Solvang to Sort This Out Cellars. We finished off our tour with a stop at the Cold Spring Tavern for some good music, beer and amazing trip-tip sandwiches. That was on our own dime but so worth it. We had a fun group in our Jeep which was awesome! We will definitely do this again. Thank you, Tammy and Cloud Climbers Jeep Tours!

This is the way to tour wine country! With the wind blowing through your hair, the scenery surrounding you, and the sun to your back! Winery hopping is always fun, but being in the back of a jeep adds a whole new dimension to the experience. Our guide, Arturo, selected the wineries based on our preferences and gave us a lot of insight about the area. He even took us olive oil tasting at Global Gardens which really helped soak up the alcohol (they give you big hunks of bread). The lunch was nice too--I highly recommend the number 12 sandwich! Cloud Climbers also makes an effort to match you up with other people in the same general age group. Our fellow tourers were great. We even exchanged numbers and tasted together the next day. It was just a wonderful overall experience and very reasonably priced (which leaves more $$$ for wine)!

My husband and I do a lot of wine tastings. This has to be one of our favorite ones. We were a pair up with another couple and we hit it off right the way. Our driver/tour guide Spencer is outstanding. Not only that he is knowledgable, he was funny and very accommodating. He took us to 3 beautiful wineries that have amazing wines. And the scenery is breathtaking. We had a wonderful time and will definitely use this company again. Thank you Spencer for a memorable wine tour.

Open air jeep adventure!

Had such a wonderful time on our wine your! Susan picked us up at our hotel and we where off for an adventure. The open air jeep with benches was a refreshing way to experience all the beauty Santa Barbara has to offer. It gets a little windy, so I would suggest a hair tie or baseball cap. We visited Gainy, Bridelwood, Carhartt (our fav) and another winery. Susan was so sweet to take us in to a tasting room in town that I was dying to visit. She really made the trip easy, relaxing and memorable. I can't wait to visit Santa Barbara and do this tour again! I will never forget how much fun we had and how enjoyable the tour was!

This was a fantastic wine tour on an open air jeep. We were paired with one other nice couple, on a Monday morning tour. We went to three wineries including the last one, Imagine Winery (which was like an art gallery/wine tasting room). The open air jeep was a rugged, windy, cold at times and a bit hot at times, BUT WE LOVED IT. We felt much closer to nature and it was really fun. The driver guide was exceptional. Overall, this tour was fun easy-going. What really made a difference was the genuinely good end-to-end service from the time I called to make a booking, to meeting the driver/guide, and at the final drop off point. (Yes, they pick you up at your door.) This tour is a must in Santa Barbara!!!

Best way to see the wineries! Ask for Guy.

My wife and I had one the best trips ever with Guy. He took us to some great locations and was very good about pointing out the history in the area. Nothing was ever rushed and he was super considerate to us. Will definitely go again.

We received this recommendation from a friend who used to live in Santa Barbara and spoke highly of this wine tour. My boyfriend and I recently visited Santa Barbara for my bday and in the planning stages became slightly overwhelmed with the many options SB wine country had to offer. We finally booked through this wine tour and was not disappointed. Millard took so much time to give the history of places and background information to us. My bf is a nerd so he completely "geeked out" when it came to the whole experience. The wine tour we chose was the Santa Ynez one with three wineries all of which were very generous in their tastings. We were in a great spirits when we left and have amazing memories because of this tour! Thank you for making my birthday a great experience! Highly recommend!

Sometimes when you live where others vacation, you don't even think to take advantage of services like Cloud Climbers Jeep Tours, a mistake I won't make again! A few of my mom friends & I decided to take some time for ourselves & one of them suggested we go wine tasting, the obvious question arises: who will drive? When another mom said, "Let's do the jeep tour", I was like, "I'm no tourist!" (being born & raised in Santa Barbara & living in Ojai for over a decade) definitely the wrong attitude to have, & I am so grateful I was overruled. Our tour was AMAZING! The owner curated the wineries we went to base on a conversation with my friend, four perfect picks, the jeep ride up with our guide/driver Michelle was great, she had lots of history, I swear I learned some things about my hometown area I had never known! Fortunately they did prepare us ladies by recommending hats/scarfs or hair pulled back, I wore & ponytail & tied a scarf around my head & was perfectly fine in the windy jeep, bonus it gave me a great excuse to pull out a scarf I bought in Paris last year (#humblebrag) The wineries were postcard beautiful, the Cloud Climbers people have cultivated great relationships w/ the wineries, you could feel the mutual respect, our included lunch was to die for, I am still thinking about the bread! The wineries offer some amazing clubs & you are able to drink some vintages not available anywhere else, of course we all scooped up our personal favs, Michelle did an incredible job of keeping us on track yet still allowing us to feel free to enjoy each winery at a leisurely pace, never rushed. We were all loving the Cloud Climbers wine glasses included, they all came decorated with cute bead wine charms to keep them straight, mine magically matched my outfit! I especially enjoyed the drives down the dirt paths of the vines & learning about the growing process, it was something I had never considered in wine making & I must add: enjoying the vistas, in the open air jeep, with the warm new Summer wind breezing over your skin, I closed my eyes & felt so grateful for the moment. Being with treasured friends, drinking delicious wine, creating new memories, really just stopping to enjoy the moment, I believe it's the feeling we are craving. Don't miss your opportunity to have a wonderful experience, the Cloud Climbers people are pros in every way. We are already planning our next outing with Cloud Climbers!

Very fun day. Michelle picked us up from the Santa Barbara train station and from the moment we met her, we knew it was going to be a fun day. The weather was Santa Barbara perfect, sunny and 75. Our ride up to Santa Ynez was beautiful and invigorating and the first winery of the day was Gainey. Perfect spot to start and end the day (see picture). Our lunch was delicious as we ate outside at the Rideau winery and enjoyed the excellent wine and spectacular scenery. Then it was on to the Fess Parker winery where we relaxed and enjoyed the last tasting of the day. We never felt rushed. Michelle was attentive and informative on the local history as well as her knowledge of winemaking and the local wine scene. Overall, we highly recommend this tour company and our guide Michelle.

Had the best time in Santa Barbara mainly because we had the pleasure of going on the Cloud Climbers wine tour. We went to 4 wineries all of which were great but I would definitely recommend requesting a stop at Carhartt. The tasting room is intimate and when we were there our host was the owner! It was so nice to sit outside and enjoy some of the wine along with our delicious lunch that was delivered to us mid-way through the tasting. The jeeps were fun and if you are offered the "off-road" path on the way back I would say a big "yes" but prepare yourself for a bumpy ride and bring a jacket and/or scarf. Our driver Millard was one of the highlights of the trip. He was so much fun and really knowledgeable about the area. Between the company, scenery, wine and Millard this was a fantastic tour and I would definitely do it again!

The second winery was especially wonderful -- they clearly knew Rick, the service was warm and welcoming, and you could tell everyone genuinely enjoyed what they do. The first winery was beautiful, although the service there was a bit slow. What really stood out was that Rick went out of his way to give us recommendations for things to do afterward, which made the whole day feel very personalized. You also should refrain from touching people's plates and cups as you discuss and show them the food items. It's also a good idea to not greet dogs and let them lick all over you ... your hands.... your arms AND your face while you're interacting with people who are eating food, bringing them food from the restaurant & leading a tour. It's a good idea to give people space after you give them the information about the tour and the food and the art and let them socialize with the people that they came with. We should not have experience the person who is giving the tour or learning how to give a tourist next to you constantly asking you questions about what you're eating, what you're trying, where you're from or other questions that are really irrelevant .. it is pretty annoying & doesn't allow you to enjoy the experience fully. She was repeatedly offered vegetarian options and not given the opportunity to try the meat options along the tour. This was frustrating as you were very clear when setting up the tour, what the food restrictions were, we reminded them again when we got to the beginning of the tour and also reminded along the tour. How often will we need to say it in order to get the full experience. Although the tour guide and her trainee were very nice & social, it is not likely not an experience we'll do again.
