Bad customer service along with false advertisement. Workers are rude when clarifying their sale scams.

New to the area. We move a lot so I am pretty versed in finding a good place to sell clothes I no longer wear. The majority of people running these resell stores have a ton of attitude and act like they are doing YOU a favor. Very bizarre business model. I called clothes mentor and they were kind, explained their process and hours. Also confirmed you should call before coming as some days they discontinue accepting clothes because they get overloaded! A woman named Diane took my stuff, was friendly and about 1.5 hours later the texted. I have done this a long time, I expected between $75 and $100. The offer was for low $70's and I took store credit for $90's. Credit never expires which is nice, and they keep it in their system. Looking forward to a great relationship! read more

The time to process is completely absurd. I love seniors but they need some more mid aged workers to process, nobody has time to wait for the little they offer you anyway. Would make more sense just to donate to Church thrifts and get a write off read more

The staff was very nice, and most of my designer clothes (new and gently used) were accepted and compensated for. I'm fine with the outcome, similar to garage sale prices. I donated things that didn't sell. If you're a seller, drop-off your clothing early to allow enough time for the buying process. read more

For shoppers - this is a great store. They have a vast selection of name brand items: Lilly Pulitzer, Chicos, White House Black Market, Vera Bradley, a little bit of everything. Items are in great condition. The prices are also very reasonable! For shoes, you can find Kate Soade, Stuart Weitzman, Michael Kors, even found Chloe and Manolo Blahnik on some occasions. Very sweet staff, all of them. I really love that store. Penny and Jane are always so nice, and some of the others who's names I forget. For sellers - this is where I don't recommend the store. Explore all options before coming here. I have sold to them several times in the past. You will get pennies for your items. They will take many things as long as they are in great condition and name brands, but you'll get an average of $3-4 per piece. Brand makes no difference. Brought in a pair of authentic Givenchy heels, regular $500-$1000 shoes, and got a few dollars for them. Its quick money when you're in a bind but definitely only for emergencies. Save your higher priced items for online marketplaces if you want to make more money. Not at all worth the money you get for your items. read more

Very disappointing. I brought in brand new, never worn (tags still on) brand name clothing and shoes and these were nearly all rejected. Seriously? They said clothes had to have tags---Talbots, Nine West, Chicos, Gloria Vanderbilt no good? No demand for jeans? Stains on new clothing? I expected they would reject some things, but it seemed like nobody even looked at much of this. Lots of what was rejected was in better condition than stuff on their racks. (A friend had the same experience & I thought she was exaggerating. Sadly no.) My single star is for their decent selection and friendly person who greeted me. No good enough to go back. read more

On a rainy day we decided to go thrifting and we stopped into many shops in North Naples - this one was by far the best! Everyone who worked there was so friendly, and we loved how peaceful the shopping experience was. Everything is extremely organized not just by type of clothing, but by size AND COLOR. Review for shopping: This is a great second hand/ consignment clothing store. Clean, organized by size and color. Great variety of sizes, even xxl and some plus sizes (which is not easy to find in Naples). The staff was nice. I didn't sell clothes just bought, but really impressed with this store, over a few other similar stores in the area. Absolutely worth a trip. This is a somewhat high end women's used clothing store. I have stopped here many times, either with a specific item in mind, or just to have fun looking around for a few minutes. Now that I think about it, most of my wardrobe is from Clothes Mentor! The store is clean, well organized, and efficiently run. Great selection of well-priced costume jewellery and handbags, too. Also, in general, purchasing a used clothing item rather than buying new is a good way to be more environmentally conscious. On top of that, you'll save tons of money, and you'll (oddly) have a much better choice of items than if you shop at a new clothing store. (Ok, so maybe the items won't be this year's "in" style, but do you really want to chain yourself to accept someone else's idea of exactly what you should wear this year? I do not! Lastly, they have great sales throughout the year, which you can find out about by signing up for their email blasts. read more

They have a lot of clothing. Very good prices. I found a brand new Coton Frais dress with tags originally $168 for $13.29. Brand new Express Jeans originally priced at $98 with tags still on for $16.99. Lots of jewelry to choose from, purses, shoes, etc. staff was very kind! read more

The service here seems to have improved immensely. They really do have a nice selection of clothing and the facility is very clean as well. I would much rather come here and purchase a few items than pay full price at one of the big box stores. Why would you want to pay more anyway when you can save to dine more and take advantage of the great deals here in SWFL. read more

What we found at this separately owned and operated Clothes Mentor in Naples was rude, condescending service and outdated non-designer styles and brands. We dropped $250 at Clothes Mentor in Fort Myers only ONE WEEK ago. We were in Naples and excited to try out this store in hopes of finding a similar cache of great clothes. I have been to this place a few times now and each time I am very disappointed. I take good care of my clothes, and pay a good amount retail. When I bring them in, I get a lot of them back. I don't understand it and will never go back there. They give you almost noting for brand names and when I shop in the store, it also surprises me what they take in. Worn looking t shirts and outdated tops, I know my merchandise . I know my clothes are quality, clean and under two years old, today I got a beautiful top back that was six months old. I have shopped and also have sold a few things at Clothes Mentor. It's ok ... I just want you people to know ... they are a rip off. They never want to show you an itemized list of how they come up with prices when you being in your things to sell. You have to ask for it . It is just above yard sale prices that Clothes Mentor will offer on each item. I took in a huge bag of clean and very nice clothes. I would say about 30+ pieces and they chose two pieces and told me , my clothes were junior , non brands , outdated or worn. The two pieces they picked were old . They lie . I had very expensive things I bought from Pratt Shoes Salon, Tommy Bahamas, Polo. If you go into the store ... especially in the shoes and purses... it looks like GoodWill. A friend referred me to this store but said they were selective on certain items. I came in with little expectations and was pleasantly surprised by the amount that the buyers purchased from me. They are more generous than Buffalo Exchange, Cross Roads, and Wasteland. I actually took out some pieces with all the excitement because I thought maybe some styles could get more mileage from their response. Such an awesome staff. Incredible service and a fun place to bargain hunt!

I was in Naples for business and popped into the shop. Have been to the shop in Ft Myers several times and it is lovely with great service. I have been to the one in Naples 4 times and the service has always been very average, but the store is nicely maintained and has nice things. Previously, I have never "smelled" the store as I entered. Yesterday, when I opened the door their was an OVERPOWERING smell of cheap floral fragrance, like a bathroom freshener at a gas station. AWFUL, but I tried to shop, and moved to the back of the store first to be able to breathe. Now I was giving the benefit of the doubt that maybe this odor freshener had just been installed that day. There were 3 20's women and an older woman working there. The smell was giving me a headache within 15 minutes and it was disgusting in the front. I quickly picked one thing to purchase and as I was checking out, I asked the 2 young women at the check out if that floral smell was new. They stared at me as if I was speaking German. I then said if the thing making the flower smell which is awful could be changed it should be as it was too much. One never spoke just stood there with her mouth wide open and the other stated "oh, I like it". I said "well, it is really hard to shop in here with that intense flower smell". AGAIN, they just stared at me. SO, I wouldn't be back. OWNERS of this store, train your staff to provide at least a courtesy answer to a store complaint, i.e. "it's new but I will check to see if itcould be adjusted. Thanks for letting us know. " AND please school them in closing their mouth while staring at customers. PLUS take that cheap flower air fresheners out and use a subdued smell. Lots of people have allergies and this fragrance could be effecting the time they spend in your store. There were at least two more things that I wanted but the smell was just too much for me to go back and pick them up. read more

I find the staff to be extremely rude as they have an attitude for people or maybe just simply hate where they work?! I have shopped there several times. I find a few designer Bargains but for the most part their clothes are subpar. I brought in clothes to drop off which were theirs that I just purchased and did not like it was out of the time frame to return. They told me to take them to Plato's Closet... they don't take those clothes... again which were clothes that that they were selling? Cash On The Spot for your used designer clothes is what they advertise. What a crock of bs! I cleaned out my closet and came in with Tommy Bahamas, Calvin Klein, J Crew, Inc, etc. Mostly dressy work clothes which are completely appropriate for a Naples business office. First off they were really snooty. Then they tell me it'll be at least 30 minutes before they get to my stuff. I wait the 30 minutes and then they pass on everything! They're inventory isn't all that great and it's really over priced for second hand. Don't waste your time here. Better prices when you buy it new at Marshalls or TJMax. read more

I visited today having not seen any reviews. I stopped in with my kids because it was right next door to the Trek store where we were stopping anyway. I was pleased with the size of the store, the organization of it and the prices. But almost immediately, the ladies started scolding my very well-behaved children for little measly things that usually no one would blink an eye at (and I'm very picky about my children's behavior.) Now having seen other reviews, I agree completely - the staff is rude, rude, rude. After a little scolding, a few of the ladies glared at us the rest of the time we were there. I love this store!! I discovered this store and go at least once a week as they are getting new things in every day. They are extremely picky so all the items are in excellent condition.. I always find at least ten items when I shop and never pay more than $15 per piece.. I have also brought items to them and have sometimes never had to pay any money out of my pocket and I got all new items to add to my closet!!! I had a horrible experience here, as have many others. Two large suitcases and only three items taken. Compensation is embarrassingly poor. A few of the items I brought that were turned down I actually found in the store in different colors. Odd. I don't even mind all of that, however, combined with wretched customer service it certainly gives one reason to think twice before shopping or selling here. I also had to drive quite a ways back to have a security tag removed. "Sheryl" acted annoyed and unfazed by my mentioned journey back to the store. Overall, it was not worth the time or energy.
