Clothes Mentor is a local consignment type store that purchases clothing to resell. They give you back 50% of what they can resell designer items and 30% back on store brand items. I've found a handful of items that I've purchased there and I do love how they organize the store by size and color. Also, they are a little pricey for used clothing.
I decided to take some clothing to their location to sell and shop around a little. When I dropped my stuff off the lady told me that I had a lot of things that they were looking for as they had a sign up with most requested items and plenty of my things were on the list.
I decided to shop around and found several things to try on. I went to the fitting rooms and realized the rooms were very small. They only have one larger fitting room and they were using it for someone taking advantage of their personal shopping service. I was shopping with a stroller and squeezing it into a small fitting room was very inconvenient.
I purchased two shirts and left. About 30 minutes later they texted me and said my stuff had been looked over. I went to pick it up and they told me they had passed on everything and gave me $5 off my next visit. The attendant again showed me the list and I said I have these things in here, sweaters, hoodies, athletic pants...I was surprised since a lot of items were on the list. She stated that the athletic pants were very "loved", (insinuating that they were well worn). She made another excuse stating there was a stain on the sweater. There wasn't a stain, all of my clothes were new with and without tags and, at most, worn once, (with the exception of one dress). I know that they can choose what they want based off of need but her excuses were the worst part. I took my things to leave and as I'm leaving I see one of the other attendants laugh while looking at me. I felt embarrassed and, at that moment, I knew I'd never shop there again. The service was rude and it felt like a group of mean girls. read more
