It is very deeply disappointing to receive a rather expensive luxury item ($975), shipped in the manner in which it was delivered. A large Louis Vuitton purse jammed into a Walmart box that was much too small for it's size? Leather wrinkled and bunched up, dust bag underneath shoved in to fit? You truly made your store look like nothing more than a bargain thrift store. My husband got this for me for Christmas. You need to do better. Honestly, this place is great except for their workers if you want to feel like you're broke and a joke try to sell clothes there. They wouldn't even look at my items they said from just looking at me they could tell it wasn't what they were looking for grabbed two items off the top and said yea no I'm not gunna even try, and recommend just donating them... There was a pair of 100$$ jeans in there that I've never worn, 80$ jeans never worn, 70$ corduroys that I wore once. All nice brands but was told just to dingy... they NEVER BEEN WORN. I even called before I went as this was my first time ever trying at this specific location to see what they would be looking for or is there was anything they don't take. They told me everything was fine to bring it but they really needed summer stuff. I wish I would've got this girls name cause she really made me feel like absolute shit. Like the clothes I had were garbage and not even worth looking at when I spent good money on those and they just didn't fit right. All I can describe is brown hair, white and kinda tall. This is definitely a place that the consumer benefits more than a seller. I have literally gotten $20 for five pairs of shoes before.

Worst consignment store ever! You need to be a robot to work there. Chloe is not a cordial conversationalist; she just spews the drafted script AT you (not to you), without looking at you and ignores you when you talk or ask a question, just continues with the script. They were not amicable AT ALL. The racks were overcrowded with a bunch of crap in my opinion but to each its own. Not worth the trip. So they mark things 1/3 the price of retail and you get 1/3 of that. Most things looked to be marked around $14 which means you would get less than $5 an item. That is NOT WORTH it to me. Just depends how much you want to put up with to make a buck. Charity wins out and is far more deserving! read more

I had a great experience while at the Clothes Mentor in Fort Myers. The girls were friendly and very professional. A big shout out to Ms. Belleville (didn't get her name) but she is from Illinois near where I lived in Missouri and she was awesome. Jo and Amy were very helpful and I sold quite a few items and feel that they were very generous. It was well worth my hour drive to get there. Just,Wow!!! One of my new favorite second-hand store! I was kind of hesitant to even go in to the Clothes Mentor at Ft.Myers,because I had a bad experience at their Sarasota location... Let me tell you the Ft.Myers store is a whole level of different!!! Staff was friendly they,encouraged me to bring in my gently used items. First time I was limited to 25 items. They sorted through my stuff in less than 20 minutes,even with the store being pretty busy. While they picked through my stuff I looked around the store.They had a hug selection!The store was nicely organized. I find hard to find, specialty sandals,in like new condition for a fraction of the store price and most importantly it was my size! When I was checking out I was offered cash,store credit or trade in options.I ended up going with the trade in for my new sandals. I'm so happy with the awesome deal what I get,it really made my day and I'm so glad I didn't shy away from checking out Clothes Mentor at Ft.Myers. I will definitely be back soon to check out their awesome selections and great deals! read more

The clothing was decent for a second hand shop. There were damaged items that we pulled, and we were told to put them back out by the manager. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. However, the manager impacted our experience. The manager was extremely rude! The first time she asked my mom if I was done and the reason I was taking so long. My mom said I was trying on clothes, and she put away the items I was holding saying she didn't care. The second time I tried on a one-piece. I asked do I look nice. "NO!" I was shocked at the kurt response. So, I asked again. So, this does not look nice. "No!" No explanation like the color could by x or niceties like I think another cut would be more flattering. Just a no. Them another customer remarked about her feedback (rather embarrassingly that this was done in front of others). "What are you trying to accomplish?" I was just trying on a piece a liked. "Well, honestly, no!" I certainly would not want to give them my business, as the manager is disrespectful and discourteous. This is not the way you treat customers. Your manager being unprofessional to customers is a trend that is and will cost you business. read more

For Sellers: in short, don't waste your time! I took 20 items today, mostly my nice work clothes since I no longer go to an office, brands like jcrew, express, banana. They wanted a total of 3 items for 11 dollars.. of course they only wanted the ones with tags for $70 still on them, never worn. It's not even worth the gas money! If all they want is NWT or brands like Tory Burch, then you would be much better off selling on Poshmark. read more

Such a great experience in Clothes Mentor, Fort Myers! The associates are all up-beat and professional. I was fortunate that they offered me a great price for my clothes and I was able to convert it to store credit which paid me 25% more and allowed me to make some terrific buys while I was in the store. This is now my go to store for selling clothes on the spot!!! The prices and quality of all of their selections make me want to return even when I am not selling. I have brought clothes in to resell and most items were like brand new. Some had tags. I was told they were last years clothing item and they didn't want them. I can make more money by donating and getting a tax right off then selling to them! I would rather have last years style than faded, torn and stained clothing. When I went to purchase clothing for myself, everything was faded and worn out. Some had stains and rips. Even Goodwill has standards. I found the staff there all RUDE and looked down on me for trying to sell my clothing. I will use other places like PoshMark online for the selling and purchasing used clothing. read more

I would not bother to go here with classic, traditional style clothing. I had Lilly Pulitzer, Talbots, Brooks Brothers, Nautica brands of skirts, tops, dresses and they liked two items out of twenty. 2.5 stars! For a quick way to cleanse that crammed closet, but don't expect to walk out with much more in your wallet than what you came in with! I really don't understand how they validate their penny change offers or no offers at all for high quality products. I walked in with a full bag of my stuff and walked out with more than half a bag with the the reasoning that it was not an "in demand style." Since when is a barely used simple black Coach clutch bag or a pair of JCrew earrings not in style? My main gripe is that they advertise the store in a way that makes you think you will be coming out on top -- clothes gone AND $$$ into your pockets. So you walk in thinking it'll be a win win! Sadly, not always the case and clearly not in my case. However, on the other side of things, It's a good place to bring stuff that you are trying to get rid of no matter what. So if you don't care, get some cash on the spot, donate the rest elsewhere, and just call it a day! I also thought the service itself was very pleasant and prompt. Hence the 2.5 rating because while the store policies are completely unreasonable to me, the staff has nothing to do with that and is deserving of some positive recognition. As the saying goes, if you don't have any expectations, you won't be disappointed. All the staff was more interested in talking to one another rather than helping. My items were processed within the first ten minutes of me being there but they failed to place my name on their board thus I wanted 40+ minutes. Took in a plastic tub with nice clothes, more than 10 pieces still had the price tags on them. 3 of these had tags around $1000. They offered to buy these 3 for $20.00, it was a joke. I didn't sell them to them. I just don't understand their system. I did sell them 8 pieces for $38.00, several of these still had the tags still on them. I looked over all the clothes that I took in, no stains, no tears, and updated. This was the second time I took clothes in to this with the same result. I have never seen anything that nice or updated in the store. read more

I always make a point to check out consignment shops and thrift stores wherever I go. This consignment shop is the Best in the area! All name brands and trending! Handbags are my favorite and there is a nice selection. A lot of Coach bags tho. Some Michael Kors. The staff was super friendly and helpful! Disappointed seller If you want to sell yor clothes to this store and believe it may be worthed something. Perhaps you are better off selling via Craigslist or a consigment store. They offer way to little for your clothing. I offered beautifull designer clothing of Tommy Bahama, Cole Haan, Donna Karan at a retail value of over $1000,- and Clothes Mentor offered to buy it for $50,- So, needless to say I took everything home again. During my wait for the appraisal I looked throught the store to see if I could find somthing to purchase but no, although the store is relatively organized I didn't find that designer treasure. To my supprise they had a lot of mid level retail house brands while I expected it would be all upper echelon products. The shopping isles were way to narrow and on a busy Saturday one had to elbow their way through the store. Parking way to limited, had to wait for a spot. Service was very friendly. read more

After cleaning and pressing over 20 pr. of like new capris and pants, mostly from Dillard's or Lane Bryant, I was turned away for waistbands having some elastic in them. Hello, plus size pants have elastic in the sides or back in almost any maker of plus woman's clothing! You are doing a disservice to your plus size customers and yourselves by rejecting these sizes. I think the staff needs to get educated in plus size clothing perimeters from manufacturers. There is a big difference between size 2 and 22 in how waistbands are handled. Maybe having a plus size primer for your workers would be beneficial. read more

I rarely find something worth buying here. The clothes are often worn looking and some items are lower end brands that cost as much as it would to buy new. I also attempted to sell items to them for the first time. I called to see when would be a good time to come by and they said it would only take 15 minutes. However, when I arrived to drop off my clothes, I had to wait 1 hour 15 minutes to get a quote on my clothes, and they ended up only buying a fraction of what I brought in, despite having all name brand items, some of which still had the tags on. It was totally bizarre what they kept, because they passed on designer items that were recently purchased but kept older, less desirable items. For those of you who are busy professionals like myself, save yourself the hassle and take your items to a higher end place like Fashionistas in Naples. read more

Watched the commercial for this business. Very positive but then it is advertising! Went to the store based on the commercial but what a disappointment. Very small, jam packed with stuff not very stylist. The front window looked like things my mother worn in the 1950s. For a used clothing store the cashiers were very shallow and prissy. They would not listen to any questions I had. They presented themselves much like people who maybe graduated high school maybe not! So bad I had to tell them that the verbiage in their window was grammatically incorrect but they were oblivious to that.. no surprise....but that is why these rude cashiers need to remember they are cashiers in a used clothing store and I have 4 University degrees, 4.0 GPAs and a 139 IQ! I took in a number of brand new brand name things...took them back and donated them to Goodwill for a huge tax deduction! Not impressed at all and will not patronize them ever again and will post to social media to save others time as well. Not the class of people I am used to interacting with.
