The product selection is extensive and the quality is excellent. They have some innovative features like the dressing rods which are very convenient when selecting an outfit. The belt rack are also very nice which extend from the closet was so they remain hidden until necessary. The sales person Alayna was extremely helpful in the designing of our closet, measuring and suggesting ways to maximize the space while maintaining the beauty of the closet. We explored other providers of this product and found Closet by Design to be reasonable. Not the least expensive but just about in the middle of the price range. The best part of this project was the installation. Alex and Gerson are probably the very best technicians I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The project includes removal of my existing built-in closet and installation of my new one which was anticipated to take 3 days. It was completed in a little overcast day and a half. They were amazingly fast and talented in their work performance. Having worked in construction and renovation of properties I can tell you their performance was exceptional. We had a few after completion changes which were also completed professionally and perfectly. I highly recommend this company if you are planning to renovate your closet. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience with Closets By Design. We had a confirmed appointment to meet a sales rep at their showroom to finalize our project. When the time came, every attempt to reach her went straight to voicemail--three calls, no response. No heads-up, no follow-up, nothing. So we called the main office expecting at least a basic level of professionalism. Instead, we were met with one of the most dismissive and rude customer service interactions I've experienced. We explained that rescheduling was difficult for us and simply asked to work with another associate so we could move forward. That request was met with excuses, attitude, and ultimately we were told--very clearly--that our situation didn't matter and everything would happen strictly on their terms. The call was then abruptly ended. To make matters worse, we followed up via email and have received zero response for four days. If this is how Closets By Design treats potential customers before they even earn your business, I can only imagine how bad it gets once they have your money. "I Turned Down $600 and a Legal Threat from Closets by Design So You Could See This Review" I purchased a master bedroom closet from Closets by Design, Pompano Beach franchise location, in August 2025. * Initial installation: The first installation revealed multiple defects in both the workmanship and the product itself. * Follow-up visit: The company returned for a second installation run to address some of the issues. While a few problems were corrected, others remained unresolved: o Missing shelves that were not ready at the time. o Unsealed gaps on the sides of the closet. o Blemishes on several panels. o Soft-close hinges on the drawers that were either defective or of poor quality and not functioning correctly. The company has offered to return again to complete the shelves or drop them off, but as of this writing, I have not scheduled a date for them to return yet. The overall poor quality of the product has left us in a dispute. The franchise has referred back to the contract we signed. Unfortunately, it seems like I'm stuck with the closet. On September 4, 2025, during a phone call with the financial controller representing the franchise, I was offered a credit of up to $600 if I agreed to finalize the project, sign a release confirming completion, and commit to not posting any reviews. In that same call, I was also told that the corporate franchise lawyers would become involved to challenge or remove any reviews and could pursue legal action against me if I posted one. This conversation was verbal and not recorded. While they did take steps to fix some of the initial problems, the underlying product quality remained unsatisfactory. Defects Observed After Initial Installation 1. Misaligned Panels o Panels were cut in different locations and did not align evenly. (See attached photo.) 2. Surface Damage o Multiple scuff marks, chips, and blemishes were visible on the boards immediately after installation. (See attached photos.) 3. Electrical o Electric cables were protruding from the installed closet lights. (See attached photo.) 4. Unsealed Gaps o The closet was not sealed properly on the sides, leaving visible gaps. o This issue remains unresolved even after the second installation visit. (See attached photos.) 5. Drawer Hardware Problems o The soft-close drawer pulls were not functioning smoothly; drawers would catch and resist closing. o After the second visit, the issue improved slightly but still persists. o This may be due to either poor-quality rails/bearings or misalignment during installation. (See attached video evidence.) 6. Laundry Basket Quality and Functionality o The original laundry baskets were supplied in cheap black fabric, despite my request for chrome baskets. o Chrome baskets were later provided, but: They were swapped from a dual-basket design to a single basket. The chrome basket was designed to detach, but due to poor alignment or installation, it could not be removed (see attached video). o This issue could not be resolved, so the black plastic baskets were reinstalled. These have a visibly lower-quality appearance and feel. (See attached video evidence.) Lastly, when I asked to see a copy of the contract I had signed (which was a hand drawn contract I could no longer find), I was told to "I just got off the phone with our attorneys, they have advised me to cease communication with you at this point. We left you a copy of your contract at the time of sale." (see attached photo). I am sharing this review to provide a factual account of my experience with Closets by Design, Pompano Beach. I have attached photos and videos showing both the workmanship and the quality of the materials that were installed in my home. While the company did make efforts to address the issues, several defects remain unresolved, and the underlying product quality did not meet my expectations. We met with Tanya from closets by design and she was wonderful! She came up with some awesome designs for our new home. We have a tricky shaped master closet and she was able to utilize the space perfectly. We liked the customization of being able to move the shelves and hanging rods. We added a belt rack and a pull out hanging rod to steam/plan outfits. They offer many different finishes/hardware and moldings. We decided to go with her design for all the bedroom closets and linen closets through the house. They run several different deals/discounts throughout the year and are happy with the price. Good value and love that I can customize everything as needed after instal. read more

If I could give less that one star I would. Horrible company. They installed a closet in my home that did not fit the space They refuse to stand by their work and thought I should pay an additional $900 to reconfigure the closet to make it right. I even offered to split the cost at $500 but the answer was absolutely not. The obviously felt they should profit from their mistake. Management could care less. They reminded me that I'd signed a contract and lectured me on contract law. Well, I'm not a closet designer or space planner but apparently I should know the size of hangers and measure the space myself if I want to actually hang my clothing and still have reasonable access to my closet. That's why I hired a professional because I don't know. The scenario was such the the hangers extended 6" into the 24" door leaving just 18" to access the closet. Zero communication that this would be the case and all the renderings indicated no problem with the hangers hindering access to the closet. . UODATE: the manager did call back offering reduce my cost of reconfiguration to $700 and then called again agreeing to honor my offer of $500 under the condition that I remove my review. I agreed to remove the review but when I received the paperwork the wording was such that I remove the review AND agree not to post another after install. While I agreed to remove the current review I did reserve my right to submit another new review if issues were not resolved as agreed. The manager then asked what would prevent me from writing another 1 star review, I replied that a smooth quality install would certainly prevent another bad review. Apparently she was not confident that would happen and threatened me with a team of lawyers, called me an asshole and hung up. Threatening me with a team of lawyers, insulting me and extorting me by agreeing to work with me only if I agree to remove my review and post no further review of their work after install tells me all I need to know about the unethical practices of this company. My bill unfortunately is paid in full and in the end, the materials they use are beyond cheap.. Do not recommend. read more

My review did not dispute whether work was completed according to an approved design -- it questioned whether the work performed was within scope and executed with professional care. Stating that everything was completed per the "approved design and agreement" does not address why portions of the work fell outside scope, nor why the workmanship was visibly substandard. These concerns were raised directly with management and met with the same generic response, followed by no further communication. I do not recommend Closets by Design at all. As a first-time homeowner, I was excited to invest in custom closets, but this experience turned into a total nightmare. I trusted their senior designer, Guy, who assured me of quality and professionalism neither of which I received. Despite warning him about my aunt's prior bad experience with this company (they blocked an outlet and never fixed it), he made the exact same mistake in my home by covering a light switch and blocking the closet door from closing. Worse, the shelf depths he quoted were comically small for the actual space 12-inch shelves in closets 19 to 31 inches deep. He never walked me through the measurements or options in the actual closet space and never showed 3D renderings, unlike other companies I consulted. I was totally upset and unable to speak once I saw the results of what I was quoted and when I was finally ready to talk and express why I was upset with the results, he got defensive and told me to take it up with customer service. In the end, the "solution" was for me to spend another $1,500 to replace two closets after already paying $7,600. No accountability. No apology. Just a massive bill and deep regret. My experience with Michelle at closets by design Pompano Beach were great. She was very professional and great design. When it came to Angela S (The owner), not so much. She is unprofessional. I had a last-minute plumbing issue and my install was for the next day. I called the morning before the install and asked if we could push it back for the weekend or next week, but I was happy to pay the rest of my invoice anyway if she could just help us out. She said absolutely not and that if I did push it back, I was looking at the end of April. Or losing my deposit (per my contract). Then she got nasty and I pushed back as well (as the customer). She called me a horrible person and she had "all the power in the world to help but you know what no" then she said "do you really think you should be speaking to me like this" I said the conversation is below me at this point and I actually laughed. Angela laughed and told me the conversation was recorded (which we know that in FL she would have had to disclose that information at he beginning of the call), and that I needed to pay my bill as soon as they arrived. I paid it, got it installed, let her know I would be leaving a google review and she said her "lawyer would be taking it down" I encourage the corporate office to pull the phone call if they record as Angela specified. Unfortunately, I DO see the reviews that all seem to be seemingly similar, shame on me for not checking. Michelle would have been great to work with and I had a Murphy bed quoted and three more small closets that I was considering, but have decided to go a different route after being treated poorly as a customer. Closets do look good, but I do not encourage working specifically with the owner- (I did ask for Michelle, but was told she can't help me). Our installers, Victor and his colleague, are highly skilled, professional and courteous when installing our kitchen pantry. Overall, four stars review for the project. I would have given it five stars as the workmanship and materials is high quality, the project was completed at a reasonable cost and the install was smooth and on time. However, our sales person, Heather, was not responsive after our initial consultation. We are considering a second project but would likely request a different sales person. read more

I would like to provide feedback on the customer service provided to us on December 31, 2024 at the Closets by Design location in Pompano Beach, Florida. The purpose of this review is to inform their corporate offices and general public of a major customer service and subsequent brand equity problem existing at this particular location. My fiancé and I started working with an excellent sales representative with Closets by Design, from their Stuart, FL location. Unfortunately, she wasn't able to join us for an appointment we had previously booked with her on Friday, December 27, 2024, at an alternate location, the Pompano Beach, FL office due to an unfortunate car accident she had while enroute. She promptly called them and us to inform every one of the situation and rescheduled us for Tuesday, December 31st at the same location, Pompano Beach, FL. She received prior verbal permission from this office for us to visit on 12/27/24 and confirmed the appointment with their representative at the same office on the morning of the 31st prior to our arrival. When we arrived at the showroom, to our surprise, we were greeted by an incredibly rude and unprofessional woman who informed us that she was the owner. She told us Closets by Design in Stuart had nothing to do with the Closets by Design in Pompano Beach. She, also, aggressively told us we were not allowed in their showroom without a sales representative. When we told her our representative had called on Friday AND Tuesday to book and confirm our appointment, she called the Closets by Design representative from Stuart, FL a LIAR! As an attempt to clear up this misunderstanding and to clarify the reason why we were there, we initiated a call between her and our Sales Representative. We were horrified to hear her very rude attitude and amazed by her unprofessional behavior towards her...especially in front of us. This call ended up being unsuccessful as she did not listen to us at all, and continued to be combative towards us. Due to this, I proceeded to tell her that we would have to write a review of this incident and post it so that others will know about the unacceptable customer service experience she was providing. At this point we were mortified and decided to leave. As we did, we forgot to write down her name. So, I walked peacefully back into her showroom to ask her for this. The situation then escalated. She refused to disclose (I later found out it is Angela) and told me if I wrote a review about the incident that I would be "lying". Furthermore, she threatened that I would hear from her attorney if I wrote a review on her business. She then, unexpectedly, physically lunged at me! Thankfully there was a gentleman there at the time who held her back in an attempt to calm her down. He asked me to leave in order to assist him with calming her down. I left immediately. I was in pure shock at this point as I would have never expected to observe this abhorred behavior, especially from the owner. Therefore, even with threats, I still feel compelled to write this review. Worth noting...There was an additional incident concerning her inappropriate behavior that happened with other(s) that day which we are not in a position to disclose. Having said the above, this review is 100% truthful and in fact still astounding to me. The Closets by Design corporate ownership as well as the general public who may be thinking of working with the Pompano Beach, FL office should be aware of the attitude and treatment demonstrated clearly by the owner. I understand the importance of customer service with my 40-year business background. The owner obviously does not comprehend the business impact of her behavior. We were very close to signing a contract with Closets by Design in Stuart for a significant amount of work in our new home. This experience in Pompano Beach, FL has soured me on Closets by Design. If this is how franchise owners are allowed to treat customers, I can only imagine how the warranty and potential follow up resources performed after installation will be. The Closets by Design corporate team needs to seriously examine the training and expectations set for franchise owners. If this is acceptable behavior by franchise owners, I don't expect that the brand will be in business much longer. This is a very competitive industry, and there are plenty of other companies to choose from. Under no circumstances should anyone consider hiring Closets by Design of South Florida. Closets by Design is a disreputable, unprofessional, devious, abusive company. I entered a contract with Closets by Design of South Florida on 3/27/24 and paid them $6,869 which was half of the contract amount. I had a two-day master bedroom closet/laundry room installation scheduled. Closets by Design knew I was leaving for a trip on the third day. On the first day, two installers arrived at 9:30 AM. Shortly afterwards the installers asked if they could borrow a ladder. When I saw the materials the installers left in the laundry room, it was clear all the materials (doors, countertop, cabinet doors, cabinet walls) were the wrong sizes and had a 7-14 day fabrication lead time. All the materials were clearly not on site. The installers had no comment, and Closets by Design could not be reached. The installers did not leave the master bedroom until 6:30 PM. The installers were going to leave without cleaning up any of the sawdust or debris in the bedroom. When I asked them to clean up, they asked if they could borrow a dustpan and broom. They clearly had no intention of cleaning up the mess they made. On the second day, the installers did not show up until 1:30 PM. I put in numerous phone calls but could only get through to a call center. When the installers did arrive, they said that they had to go to another job first. The installers worked until 8:30 PM on the second night in the bedroom. Prior to leaving they wiped down the closet shelves with a solution which was so pungent and had such an obnoxious odor, similar to that of contact cement, that we had to open up all the windows in the house, in SOUTH FLORIDA! It lasted for hours. The installers did not finish the master bedroom, so I had to postpone my trip while they came back a third day to finish. On the third day, only one installer arrived at the job and said he was told not to finish the master bedroom but instead to start on the laundry room. Soon into the laundry room installation the installer realized the fabrication of the entire laundry room was made incorrectly and not as per the plan. Unable to complete the job, the installer left the job with the laundry room in shambles and the master bedroom incomplete. No one from Closets by Design reached out to apologize or to say how they intended to resolve the many issues and contract violations. The job is still unfinished 6 months later, and when I finally did get through to Closets by Design they said they would do no further work until they were paid in full. I offered to put the outstanding balance of the contract into their lawyer's account so we could finally move into our bedroom and use the laundry room, but they refused. On 6/11/24 Angela Saccareccia the controller for Closets by Design put a lien on my house by committing perjury by stating in a sworn official State of Florida document that the contract was fully completed. FL Statute 837.06 They are a disgrace. Stay as far away as possible from Closets by Design of South Florida. read more
