If I had known that Ethan Allen had such talented designers who would not only provide excellent…read moredesign services, great customer service and incredible communication, I would have used them years ago. I was trying to find the "perfect" dining room table and chairs online and decided to ask a question on their "chat" option. I was fortunate to meet Julie P. during this "chat". She was extremely helpful, very knowledgeable in addition to being a wonderful designer. Within little over a week, my samples arrived. Julie kept in touch with me throughout the entire ordering and design process. I've had a few additional design dilemmas and she has been a life saver. I would not hesitate to contact Julie at Ethan Allen for any future purchases in furnishing my home. This has been a great online shopping experience!

J Renee is owned by a very friendly couple that have years of experience with fabric and design…read more Although they are located in Rye, they are surprisingly inexpensive. I shopped around in Portsmouth and Exeter for custom window curtains and J Renee was definitely the least expensive. I was very impressed with the amount of time and patience they has as I really wasn't sure what I wanted. Their store has 100's of samples to choose from. They also have all kinds of unique furniture and knick knacks that you never see in a retail store. I fell in love with some stools and googled them to do some research. They sell the stools for less than half of what they would cost elsewhere. In the end, I was beyond satisfied with the custom job they did for me and I feel that if there was ever an issue they'd stand by their work.

Last month my husband and I decided to upgrade our two master closets and the other three bedroom…read moreclosets. We researched local custom closet companies and contacted four of them. Coast Closets was the first to respond, the first to come by for a free consultation and, the only one to provide designs to our inbox within a couple of hours of the consult. We still awaited on the other three bids which took between three and eight days to come in. Coast Closets was the least expensive, by far, and the most accommodating by answering my emails and calls almost immediately, even on a Sunday! We decided to order our closets from them and we are happy we did. They installed our closets just eight days after we approved the final designs. And all five closets were completed, in an efficient and very neat manner, in one day. Our new closets are absolutely gorgeous and the whole experience with Coast Closets was seamless. It is no wonder they have an A+ rating with the BBB! If you are every looking to treat yourself with new closets, do not hesitate to call Coast Closets! You'll be glad you did.

I had been searching for local furniture stores and though I often use Yelp, I finally went…read moreelsewhere to find one. Low and behold, I read about Seavey's in Portsmouth (with parking!) which apparently is in a new location. It is a light-filled factory building space but not overwhelming. It is set up so you want to walk around and try things out. Much of the furniture brings you back to the 50's. Some pieces are works of art! But many were beautiful but affordable. And made in this country! And it is locally owned! Which is what I wanted. Michael the owner is friendly and informed. And no pressure. He spent a lot of time with us trying to choose pieces for our limited space. We have swatches at home now to make decisions and look forward to returning to work with him. Maybe the categories on Yelp need to be switched up with furniture stores at the top so you don't miss going here first.

Seavey's has great (free!) delivery, and every time we visit there are a ton of new items. All modern/mid-century, and from different brands. You can't go wrong with a visit or purchase. They are a local business that we want to and will continue to support.
