These are reasonably friendly people, but a bit more reserved than I'd like as a customer. They offer yellow-poplar, pine, red oak, white oak, and I think a few other species like red cedar. This is a great place to buy white oak fence boards---if you buy a "bundle" it will work out to about $3 for a 1 x 6 x 8 (as of early 2014, anyway). Try getting a price like that at Lowe's. You can't even buy white oak there. Just red oak at a ridiculous $40 a board, and poplar for about half that, equally ridiculous. Branmar's fence boards are good enough to sand and use for other things, of course. It's all rough-cut, green lumber. You have to dry it yourself, carefully stacked, with each layer separated by scrap lumber, and the whole thing heavily weighted down. I do so in a big shed that gets a lot of sun and is an absolute furnace all summer long. It takes 6 months to a year to really dry out a board and shrink it down to its stable point. One quibble: When they tell you they'll call you back in a day or two with a price or some other information, they never do. You have to keep after them and keep asking. Overall I'm very glad they're there and satisfied with their service and products.

It was obvious from the minute we met with him that he was experienced, patient, and knew how to interpret what we wanted when we weren't even exactly sure! We are experienced home remodelers and it was great to work with someone who completely met our very high expectations and requirements. Aaron was extremely detail oriented and responsive, had great recommendations for products and colors that would look best with the overall vibe of the house, and kept us informed every step of the process with daily text updates/pictures. Project was completed on time. The floors are absolutely gorgeous and we couldn't be happier. With such a tall house, I wanted a team that was experienced and safety focused. I got other bids from other painters. One was higher, two were slightly lower. But, there's no doubt we picked the best with CertaPro Painters of Charlottesville. Before painting even started, we knew our job was in good hands. Michelle's estimate was very thorough, and the final bill was right on the mark. Scheduling coordination and paint planning with the production manager, Riley, was fantastic. His professionalism and industry knowledge were so impressive. He was so helpful in advising us on the right paint grade for the job. And, Daniel and his painting team were absolutely THE BEST!! Daniel is a great painting professional and crew leader. His whole painting team did a top-notch job, working hard all day for several days. They paid terrific attention to big and small details, and the result shows. They were even able to do some great carpentry work to repair soffits and trim boards. A good power wash, some minor repairs, and two coats of paint later, our house looks brand new! We are so thrilled with the results. We were promised a professional, high-quality paint job completed in 5-7 days, and instead the project dragged into 9 days of chaos, excuses, sloppy workmanship, and complete lack of professionalism to the point we did not have them back to touch up anymore work because it just kept getting worse. The drywall repairs they charged us for actually looked WORSE after they "fixed" them. Repairs were flashing straight through the paint because they did not properly prime the walls like we were specifically told they would. Cracks in the ceiling literally reappeared within 48 hours after completion. The finish work throughout the house was rushed, uneven, and full of visible imperfections. Marcelo and his crew showed very little care or respect for our home. Day one, they used the smallest drop cloths and had compound all over our hardwood floors. They were sanding cabinets directly on our brand-new dining room table while wet paint was still in the room. Outlets and fixtures were spray painted over, which is a fire hazard. They barely used drop cloths and the plastic they used was so thin it was ripped and not sticking to the floor, had no proper lighting equipment, and didn't even bring basic cleaning supplies. At the end they were using an old dirty mop they found in a closet, wet it and smeared their mess across the entire house, on hardwood floors. For the amount of money we were charged, the workmanship was unacceptable. What was promised during the sales process was NOT what we received. The entire job felt rushed and poorly managed from start to finish. The project managers did not have the man power to complete this job as it was understaffed everyday. Extremely disappointing experience. Sloppy work, missed promises, poor preparation, poor cleanup, and terrible attention to detail. Every night I had to walk through and point out all the imperfection, completely missed painted walls, pain on trim, pain on windows, repairs flashing through final coat, fixtures not put back, missed outlet covers, areas of floor not covered, ect. This job was full of constant excuses after excuse.I would never use this company again and would strongly caution anyone considering hiring them.
