This place is clean & new looking. Parking is easy & it was perfect place to ride our bikes towards Morro Bay. We are just passing through & decided to come here based on the pictures. The play equipment looks new & well maintained. People are flying kites, jogging, riding bikes, and just enjoying themselves.

Grab a burger from Wee Shack (best burgers in Morro Bay) and relax and enjoy the fresh air at Cloisters Park. We were in month five of the pandemic lock down. While on vacation we grew tired of eating in our suv because all restaurant dining rooms were closed down. Cloisters park was a few blocks away from the restaurant and per yelp reviews they had plenty of picnic tables. Other than eating lunch here there's not much else to do, unless your have a dog or children. There's a nice kids playset and a path for dog walking. One additional bonus is that it's a stones throw from the beach. - Several picnic tables. - Watch out for pesky seagulls. - View of Moro Rock.

The Cloisters Park has many features - a playground area for young children, restrooms, with a large grassy area for family festivities or enjoying togetherness with one's furry friends. Please keep your animals on a leash for the safety of others. There are picnic tables with barbecue grills, along with benches to sit and enjoy the outdoors and wildlife. The park has a great view of Morro Rock as a back drop. The paved, handicap accessible pathways around the park are great for walking, running, biking & other physical activities. There are signs to stay on the paved paths so as to not disturb the local ecology which is home to many forms of wildlife. There are several educational information signs displaying facts of the area, as well as pictures of the wildlife that are indigenous to the area. The pathways to the North and South of the large grassy area lead to beach access. Approximately eight months ago, many ornamental grasses and succulents were planted in the park & surrounding areas. The plants have greatly increased in size, and the combination complements the beauty of the area. The park is clean, and well maintained by the city of Morro Bay.

Easily accessible from Highway 1, this is a nice, small park that's dog friendly and has a playground for kids. I like it because it has a short trail to the boardwalk and leads to a beach that has a great landscape view of Morro Rock.

Stopped here on a road trip with the kiddos!! It's off the 1 in Morro Bay. Just west of the highway in the cutest community. It was a great park to stop with the kids. One of the cleanest public parks. Bathrooms: SUPER clean!!! Omg shock! There are functional and clean hand washing stations outside with a hand dryer! I loved that there were dog bowls full of fresh water there. There are walking trails to the beach and alongside the community. Beautiful grass area for dogs and kids to run around. I don't know who needs to see this review, but if you have kids are are driving from SLO north or vice-versa, this is a great place to stop! It felt very clean and safe.

The Cloister's Park - gorgeous lawn and winding paths.

Great park....my Westie A.J. loves walking to the beach and then wrapping up his walk with a spin around the Cloisters.

    Cute photo-op underneath the slide!

There are BBQ pits around the large grass area where you can also bring the kiddos to play on the climbing structure.

The grassy hills are great for running around and being adjacent to the ranch property makes it fun to see cows. However, like every other park in Morro Bay it is falling apart and a slide is now closed. The spiral slide always scared me since the stairs don't seem safe since a kid could easily fall off. But still a fun park, I just with the parks department would do a fundraiser or something so our parks could be properly maintained and repaired.

Despite a busy morning and a wait to get on the court, everyone we met was incredibly friendly. We began in the beginners' court, but it turned out my friends were former tennis players who quickly adapted to the pickleball rules and techniques. So, we moved up to the intermediate middle court and had a fantastic time. The crowd, although a bit older, was warm and welcoming. We shared plenty of laughs, and my friends loved their first pickleball experience, planning to return the next time I visit Morro Bay. Although there were only three courts at the park, they were well-maintained. $1 per player. I can't wait to play pickleball with my buddies and these wonderful people in the community again.

Morro Rock in the distant that that is less than a 15 minute walk away on the trail, and the harbor is immediately next to the park. I'm sure in its hey day it was a fun place for visiting families to stop and enjoy the pretty views. Now the park is showing its age. It's a bit outdated and could use some peeking up. The restrooms are shuttered. The basketball court pavement is a bit neglected. The play area consist a a couple of old fashion steel swings, the swing set is on top of rough sand. There is a commemorative plaque recognizing the landing of the first recorded Filipino to set foot on American soil, which is super awesome. There is no immediate parking next to the park, that portion of the drive is closed off as well. The closest spots are less than a 5 minute walk from the paved trail. The walking trail runs right alongside the park. This park has potential to be revived. I'm hoping the current state is just temporary. The park is named after a local citizen, Arthur Coleman, who lead the effort in the 1950s to dredge the harbor and create Embarcadero Street to reach the Morro Rock.

Then promptly at 3 all the local high school kids (all boys today) from the school around the corner came with their boards and a couple with bikes to let out some energy. This place is right in front of the morro bay teen center. We didn't go inside the center but saw that it looked like a pretty good place for kids to gather and maybe hang out, do homework. It's open to kids from grade 7-12. By 3:45pm, all the boys had left the skate park as their parents picked them up. My kid liked having it all to himself. I asked him how he rates this place. He thinks 4 stars and liked the flat ground except for the different structures. He thinks the equipment is in really condition. A good place for kids to practice their skating skills overall. Glad we found it. And happy to add it to yelp for other visitors.
