***PLEASE READ***** I have been coming to Clipper King ever since the store has been opened up by the original owner, James. I really enjoyed the great services, and awesome customer service, and always left happy with my haircut, but also keep in mind this was when James owned the store. After James left the store, and was under new management, I started to go to Adriana Ruiz. Adriana Ruiz has been working at Clipper King ever since James was the owner and I saw that she was doing a great job, I went to her and only her. The new manager I believe Daina ( I may be spelling her name wrong ) seemed quite at first. After years, yes YEARS of coming to Adriana Ruiz at Clipper King I called in to make an appointment. When I called Clipper King I asked if Adriana was available and they told me no. I asked if they knew when she was coming back, they said no. So I got tired of one worded answers, I asked to speak to the manager Daina. I asked Daina where Adriana Ruiz was and she said she left, and i told her I only trusted her with my hair. Daina then tries to tell me " you don't need to go to Adriana Ruiz, there's better people in Clipper King who have a lot time and is good " time was not the point, how the haircut came out was the important reason. Keep in mind this phone call was to ask where Adriana Ruiz was and Daina still tires to forcefully make me come to Clipper King which I did not like, finally I Daina that I'm not coming to Clipper King unless Adriana Ruiz was there, and so after 12min... Yes you read right, 12min on the phone I finally got off the phone. I finally found Adriana Ruiz and went to her. Everyone at Clipper King knew Adriana left to another store and Daina was not telling me where she went she was hiding it from the customer so she doesn't lose her business. Is this what a manager is suppose to do? UNACCEPTABLE! Everyone at Clipper King knew where Adrian Ruiz went but I'm 100% sure Daina has told everyone in the store to not tell any of the customers where Adriana Ruiz went or moved to so she doesn't loose her customers. YOU DO NOT BUY YOUR CUSTOMERS, YOU EARN THEM, SAME WAY ADRIANA HAS EARNED MY CUSTOMER SERVICE. Clipper King used to be the best place to go, now with new management and new workers, it's not the same, some workers there aren't as friendly as they used to be when James was in the store. And as for Daina being the manager, it's sad to see a manager trying their hardest to pull me in because her workers have time to cut my hair and how they do a better job than Adriana Ruiz??? I'm sorry but I don't believe talking down on an old employee is alright especially from a manager. THIS IS NOT THE ORIGINAL CLIPPER KING IT USED TO BE. I no longer go to Clipper King and never will. Sad to know that after several years, Clipper King is gone now. And it's not the same. One of the worst haircut places I've been to. I called right before I got there and they said the wait would be 20 minutes. I signed in and was there for 2 hours without any acknowledgement. Looks like they were only helping people they knew. Additonally, please don't let your kids play with their toys. All of their toys are covered with hair....so gross! read more

Descent haircut place. I went on a weekday around 4-5pm and there was no wait. I walked right in and received my haircut. I was kind of nervous since this place advertises itself as a "barbershop" and the only person working was a woman. Maybe I'm being too stereotypical but most barbershops I've ever gone too only have men working there. Either way I decided to give it a chance, I told her I wanted a bald fade and she did just that. Her accuracy and familiarity with mens haircuts was quite sufficient in my book. Not sure how she would have done with a facial hair trim (beard or mustache) since I didn't need it this time around. I was in and out within 20 minutes which was nice, the price of my cut was $18 + $2 tip. I thought this place would have been a bit cheaper but I consider this an average price at a barbershop. Great cuts and great customer service. They can do any type of haircut with precision. You can't go wrong, I wouldn't go anywhere else.

I've taken my son here twice to get his hair cut, once years ago under the former management, and more recently after it changed hands. The stylists are really precise in their craft, and the cut speaks for itself. This is a far better cut that what we usually get from Supercuts or Great Clips. We will be back for sure, and I'm now recommending that my husband goes. They also do women's haircuts and other services too, so I'll be trying those on my next trip in to Clipper King. read more

So amazed at the quality of work that all of the stylists do! My son is a bit difficult to cut his hair but Adriana is the only person that he will let get close to his head. We were planning our sons first hair cut. He is two years old and had very long hair. I called to make the appointment with Elizabeth because she was highly recommended from several people I know. She not only met all of our expectations- but she was more than patient, kind, and did everything to help us make this a memorable and easiest experience as possible. My son was terrified to say the least- screamed- kicked- jumped out of the chair- and she was so calm the entire time and just worked around his fear. My 10 yr. old son has been going to Clipper King for a while now. Elizabeth cuts his hair exactly how he wants it. My son is very particular about the way he wants his hair cut and she can always see his vision lol. Elizabeth always asks him about school and his love of soccer and other sports. This was honestly the most painful haircuts I've ever gotten. The barber left the back of head red and sore from how intensely she was cutting. When she used the scissors to blend my hair he tore out some of my hair on my hairline. She'd always bash into my cheekbones trying to shave my side. My son usually gets a pretty decent haircut. However, I must say that the customer service in this place is awful! You walk in and not one person acknowledges you. As many others have stated, this placed has absolutely the worst customer svc EVER!!! Never had been there before and my son wanted a bald fade. We came in and sat down and no one said anything. I finally got up when another customer was paying and asked how long the wait would be. She asked if i signed in? I didn't see the clipboard and no one told me i had to. They all saw us walk in and whispered among each other as if asking whose customer we were. My son was finally the last customer and i swear it took anout an hour to do his hair. They don't talk to you but only to each other - very immature. Needless to say, we will never go there again. read more

I moved back home from Washington in June 2017. I've been to a few places to get my hair cut and just couldn't find the right place for me. I didn't know there was a Clipper King in Tracy. I used to go to Manteca to get a hair cut when they first opened up so I decided to give it a try. I tried a few employees there and found my favorite, ANNA LAM. I've been going to her for quite some time and the first time she cut my hair, I was hooked. She cuts my hair exactly how I want it and what I love the most about her is the razor cut at the end. They are by far the best barber in town! We have tried so many others and they have all messed up on the hubby and kids' hair. It was frustrating before we found this place because we were always unsatisfied with other barber shops. The workers at Clipper King take their time in perfecting your haircut and for this, I'm grateful. I love Clipper King! My sons have had 3 barbers in Tracy, prior to us receiving a recommendation for Clipper King! It is the best find ever. It's a safe clean, environment. We are always greeted upon arrival by the owner and the staff. My sons are always asked by the barbers, what type of service is needed. The service is prompt. The wait for service, even when the shop is crowded is usually 20 minutes. The shop is clean, comfortable and there are numerous flat screen TVs in the customer waiting area and at each barber's station. If the sound is muted on the TVs, there is nice music playing. There are reading materials. The shop also sells hair care products. There are restaurants next door. So you can eat at the restaurant, if there is a wait. Very conveniently located. I waited an hour with 3 barbers cutting hair and 4 guys in front of me, all the barbers (women) wanted to do was talk they would cut a little and them stop and talk, after an hour there was still one guy in front of me and then an appointment came in and one of the barbers went home and so did I. I would rather shave me head bald then go back. So if you need a hair cut go down the street and you will find a couple of places that want your money, and wont let you sit there waiting on there lazy self. read more

This shop doesn't even deserve a star. I was a walk in with my two boys and I wasn't even recognized at all. The customer service is horrible. We sat there and watched all their other patrons come in and get serviced. Not once did any of the three ladies explained to me that these were patrons that made appointments. They just kept staring at me, and not saying a Dang word. How can you be in a CUSTOMER SERVICE occupation, and not have any CUSTOMER SERVICE at all!!! Clipper King looks like a regular haircut joint but don't be fooled. This is the place to go to get your hair did and edged up. This is my 2nd time getting my haircut here and the first time the guy at the end with the hat on did it on spot. Today one of the girls cut it and it was perfect. I asked her to cut it short on the sides and back with no guard and and clean up the lines and edge it up. Needless to say she did a awesome a job. This is an around the way barber shop and not a cookie cutter haircut place like supercuts or fantastic sams. In the shop it's clean, neat, organized, nothing really too special. Just the basics. They do offer razor fade cuts, beard trimming/cutting (something I like a lot since I like to sport the facial hair nowadays), line ups/edge ups, and color services plus the whole salon deal. I don't know, I go in for one thing and don't really pay attention to the rest. Although, there are two barber stations that must be reserved for the 'master barbers'. Have been sitting for over an hour waiting to get my boyfriends hair cut....about 10 other ppl walked in and signed In and they all went before us...regardless if they had an appointment or not if they are late then they get bumped down the list and even people that came in after us went before us...no apology for the wait nothing....employees are constantly looking at their cell phones and texting people back....and then they still wanna charge you $25 for a haircut....employees never look happy and customer service is something to be desired or lack thereof....so now we waited over an hour and it's gonna take another hour for the cut.....wouldn't recommend this at all!! This place is great! My 13 year old goes here for every haircut and design, James takes his time to make sure everything is perfect. I also take my 4 year old who is autistic, both James and the lady in the back have cut his hair and they are very good with him. But the stuff this new hirls keep talking to each other about their personal life and over do it laughing and joking while cutting hair among them. Last time i was there we waited 2 hrs yeah most of the time they had clients but they were also talking to each and fixing their hair and talking about new makeup from mac . What got me the most was as soon they were done with a client and once he would walk they would start sharing the conversation they had with that client . And they were so unprofessional about it . This would have been the second time that I take my son to get a haircut here (note how I said WOULD HAVE). I first visited this place earlier this year, and that is the only reason I gave it 2 stars, because my first experience was not bad, but after this time, I do not think I will be returning. I went yesterday (Monday 11/21) as a drop in around 12:30pm to take my son to get a hair cut since i liked the first cut they did a while back, but as soon as we walked in we did not get a hello, or "Please Sign In". No one greeted us, so i saw a clipboard with a sign that said to sign in (Still doesn't mean they can't say Hi and acknowledge their customers. After almost a 30 min wait, which i know is not bad, still nothing. So i requested to come back the next day and asked for an appointment at 11:15 the following day. The girls that were there said it would be ok (I hoped they would remember because no one noted anything down, they just asked for my son's name). I showed up today for my appointment and there was already a gentleman sitting in the chair where my son's haircut stylist was. I figured she was wrapping up, so once again i signed in and we waited. I showed up and signed in at 11:20am, remind you my appointment was at 11:15am, so i was 5 mins late. After a 45 min wait, the girl finally finished and then took another customer, even though I told here i had an appointment and she had seen me and my son waiting. All she said was sorry but the other client was here before you. This place has horrible wait times, they don't honor their appointments and they only greet the customers that they want. While i was there 3 people walked out because of the wait and service. Most definitely not going back here again, and its quiet sad because they do a great job on the cuts, but that doesn't mean their service should be bad. read more

Bad customer service from the owner to the hair stylists. Some of the hair stylist will skip customers to get to the ones whom I guess tip better. Long wait some times excessive wait times. If the hair stylist doesn't feel like working they will simply start sweeping all the way to the back room and come out later at their own convenience.
