Descent haircut place. I went on a weekday around 4-5pm and there was no wait. I walked right in and received my haircut. I was kind of nervous since this place advertises itself as a "barbershop" and the only person working was a woman. Maybe I'm being too stereotypical but most barbershops I've ever gone too only have men working there. Either way I decided to give it a chance, I told her I wanted a bald fade and she did just that. Her accuracy and familiarity with mens haircuts was quite sufficient in my book. Not sure how she would have done with a facial hair trim (beard or mustache) since I didn't need it this time around. I was in and out within 20 minutes which was nice, the price of my cut was $18 + $2 tip. I thought this place would have been a bit cheaper but I consider this an average price at a barbershop. We were planning our sons first hair cut. He is two years old and had very long hair. I called to make the appointment with Elizabeth because she was highly recommended from several people I know. She not only met all of our expectations- but she was more than patient, kind, and did everything to help us make this a memorable and easiest experience as possible. I've taken my son here twice to get his hair cut, once years ago under the former management, and more recently after it changed hands. The stylists are really precise in their craft, and the cut speaks for itself. This is a far better cut that what we usually get from Supercuts or Great Clips. This was honestly the most painful haircuts I've ever gotten. The barber left the back of head red and sore from how intensely she was cutting. When she used the scissors to blend my hair he tore out some of my hair on my hairline. She'd always bash into my cheekbones trying to shave my side. As many others have stated, this placed has absolutely the worst customer svc EVER!!! Never had been there before and my son wanted a bald fade. We came in and sat down and no one said anything. I finally got up when another customer was paying and asked how long the wait would be. She asked if i signed in? I didn't see the clipboard and no one told me i had to. They all saw us walk in and whispered among each other as if asking whose customer we were. My son was finally the last customer and i swear it took anout an hour to do his hair. They don't talk to you but only to each other - very immature. Needless to say, we will never go there again. read more

I moved back home from Washington in June 2017. I've been to a few places to get my hair cut and just couldn't find the right place for me. I didn't know there was a Clipper King in Tracy. I used to go to Manteca to get a hair cut when they first opened up so I decided to give it a try. I tried a few employees there and found my favorite, ANNA LAM. I've been going to her for quite some time and the first time she cut my hair, I was hooked. She cuts my hair exactly how I want it and what I love the most about her is the razor cut at the end. It's hard to find someone like that. She comes with a wonderful personality and a great smile! She's the best for me! read more

They are by far the best barber in town! We have tried so many others and they have all messed up on the hubby and kids' hair. It was frustrating before we found this place because we were always unsatisfied with other barber shops. I love Clipper King! My sons have had 3 barbers in Tracy, prior to us receiving a recommendation for Clipper King! It is the best find ever. It's a safe clean, environment. We are always greeted upon arrival by the owner and the staff. My sons are always asked by the barbers, what type of service is needed. The service is prompt. The wait for service, even when the shop is crowded is usually 20 minutes. The shop is clean, comfortable and there are numerous flat screen TVs in the customer waiting area and at each barber's station. If the sound is muted on the TVs, there is nice music playing. There are reading materials. The shop also sells hair care products. There are restaurants next door. So you can eat at the restaurant, if there is a wait. Very conveniently located. This shop doesn't even deserve a star. I was a walk in with my two boys and I wasn't even recognized at all. The customer service is horrible. We sat there and watched all their other patrons come in and get serviced. Not once did any of the three ladies explained to me that these were patrons that made appointments. They just kept staring at me, and not saying a Dang word. How can you be in a CUSTOMER SERVICE occupation, and not have any CUSTOMER SERVICE at all!!! The Rudest place I have been to. I waited an hour with 3 barbers cutting hair and 4 guys in front of me, all the barbers (women) wanted to do was talk they would cut a little and them stop and talk, after an hour there was still one guy in front of me and then an appointment came in and one of the barbers went home and so did I. I would rather shave me head bald then go back. Clipper King looks like a regular haircut joint but don't be fooled. This is the place to go to get your hair did and edged up. This is my 2nd time getting my haircut here and the first time the guy at the end with the hat on did it on spot. Today one of the girls cut it and it was perfect. I asked her to cut it short on the sides and back with no guard and and clean up the lines and edge it up. Needless to say she did a awesome a job. This is an around the way barber shop and not a cookie cutter haircut place like supercuts or fantastic sams. In the shop it's clean, neat, organized, nothing really too special. Just the basics. They do offer razor fade cuts, beard trimming/cutting (something I like a lot since I like to sport the facial hair nowadays), line ups/edge ups, and color services plus the whole salon deal. I don't know, I go in for one thing and don't really pay attention to the rest. Although, there are two barber stations that must be reserved for the 'master barbers'. But the stuff this new hirls keep talking to each other about their personal life and over do it laughing and joking while cutting hair among them. Last time i was there we waited 2 hrs yeah most of the time they had clients but they were also talking to each and fixing their hair and talking about new makeup from mac . What got me the most was as soon they were done with a client and once he would walk they would start sharing the conversation they had with that client . And they were so unprofessional about it . I also take my 4 year old who is autistic, both James and the lady in the back have cut his hair and they are very good with him. This would have been the second time that I take my son to get a haircut here (note how I said WOULD HAVE). I first visited this place earlier this year, and that is the only reason I gave it 2 stars, because my first experience was not bad, but after this time, I do not think I will be returning. I went yesterday (Monday 11/21) as a drop in around 12:30pm to take my son to get a hair cut since i liked the first cut they did a while back, but as soon as we walked in we did not get a hello, or "Please Sign In". No one greeted us, so i saw a clipboard with a sign that said to sign in (Still doesn't mean they can't say Hi and acknowledge their customers. After almost a 30 min wait, which i know is not bad, still nothing. So i requested to come back the next day and asked for an appointment at 11:15 the following day. The girls that were there said it would be ok (I hoped they would remember because no one noted anything down, they just asked for my son's name). I showed up today for my appointment and there was already a gentleman sitting in the chair where my son's haircut stylist was. I figured she was wrapping up, so once again i signed in and we waited. I showed up and signed in at 11:20am, remind you my appointment was at 11:15am, so i was 5 mins late. After a 45 min wait, the girl finally finished and then took another customer, even though I told here i had an appointment and she had seen me and my son waiting. All she said was sorry but the other client was here before you. This place has horrible wait times, they don't honor their appointments and they only greet the customers that they want. While i was there 3 people walked out because of the wait and service. Most definitely not going back here again, and its quiet sad because they do a great job on the cuts, but that doesn't mean their service should be bad. read more

Bad customer service from the owner to the hair stylists. Some of the hair stylist will skip customers to get to the ones whom I guess tip better. Long wait some times excessive wait times. If the hair stylist doesn't feel like working they will simply start sweeping all the way to the back room and come out later at their own convenience. Sign says walk-ins welcome but it should read at own risks and expected wait time is one to two hours. read more

Took my kids in for a haircut and while I was happy with my sons cut I wasn't thrilled about my daughters. When I first walked in I asked how much children's cuts were and what the cut off age was. I was told by Diana $17 for kids 15 and younger ($19 if you want a "fancy" cut). The girl Diana then told me she was ready to cut my daughters hair but I was worried about time and asked if my son could go first. Her response to me was "well I'm the only one here who does the girl haircuts, if you want to wait to go somewhere else that's fine". I said no and told her my daughter just needs a trim and would like bangs. She ended up spending more time brushing my daughters hair and barely snipping off the ends and then told me she didn't feel comfortable cutting bangs for my daughter because her hair naturally parted in the middle. After she was done my daughters hair still looked like it did prior to the haircut. My son on the other hand... when I asked her to put a design in his hair she said she doesn't know how to do that and if I wanted to wait for someone else she didn't mind (this was said sarcastically) I told her again no I needed his hair cut so to just cut it without the design. She then began talking about me and giving stupid looks to the lady cutting hair at the next station. To put the cherry on the cake when I went to pay she charged me $25 for my daughters bad hair cut and when I told her she said it would be $17 she said "nope not for women's cuts" I told her "but she's only 15 and you said it was gonna be $17" she looked at me dumb and said it's $25 for women".... overall it was a bad experience. While she did cut my sons hair nicely (minus the design) she really needs to work on her customer service and not cheat people out of money. Also, If she's going to cut hair maybe she should learn to do the designs and not tell the customers she doesn't know how to do something and pass them off to someone else or even another shop like she did me. I will not be returning and I urge others to be warned of their negative vibes. Sad how that one lady made the whole place feel not welcoming or friendly at all. read more
